ALL ABOARD 8-22-11!!!

  • I plan to start 8-22 as well.  Would love to share my journey with you.... I am having trouble registering on line.  It keeps giving me an error and I am having trouble downloading the challenge kit.  Anyone know how to get around this?

  • I didn't have a problem downloading the challenge kit.  I emailed it to you Tamara (Minnie Mom) :-)

    Sonya - if you want, I can email it to you too.  You might need an updated version of Adobe to download, not sure why you are having a problem...

  • Hi everyone,  I am starting my first challenge on Monday with you all. Stephon, it was your enthusiasm that motivated me to take the first step! Seeing others' success is so encouraging.

    Has anyone done all their workouts at home in the past? I don't think I'm ready for a gym....yet.

  • Hi Lisa!  Yes, when I did the BFL exercise program for 2 years, I did them all at home with free weights.  

    I had to get the whole range of free weights from 5 lbs. to 30 lbs., but I looooved doing it at home.  

    And all I did for the 20 min. cardio's was running; me and my watch.  

    After a while I wanted to go to a gym for variation of different muscles to exercise using machines, but I lived too far out in the boonies for that.  

    I still got in awesome shape and just did my research to see what alternative exercises I could do with my free weights.

    We're getting so close to starting!  I've got a lot of food planning and preparing to do tomorrow!

  • I have a question for you all-

    In registering for the challenge, we don't technically have to turn anything in until the end do we?

    With the online registration now, it looks like you can turn it in, in pieces....but we don't have to turn anything in until the end.....  is that right?

    I'd really appreciate anyone who knows for sure about that getting back to me.  I want to make sure I'm not going to miss something right here at the beginning.

    I love reading everyone's posts and it energizes me to know you all are doing this at the same time....

  • hr2011 Thank you for forwarding the pdf. Unfortunately, it is the entry kit, not the challenge kit. I was able to download the entry kit but cannot download the other. Do you (or anyone else) have the other kit? Thanks again! Looking forward to Monday! :)

    Here is what BFL has to say about your question:

    All you need to do is take your before photos and get started.  Once you have begun, you will need to print off the official Body-for-LIFE entry kit provided and complete the 12 week challenge. After you have completed your challenge, please take your after pictures and complete the small essay (instructions in the entry kit). Please note that you have 15 days from the date that you finish to send us your completed entry kit materials.

  • That is what opened when I clicked download under the challenge kit.  What is it that you are looking for?  I'm not sure what would be included in the challenge kit.  If I can figure it out I will send it to you.

  • Gosh, I am so bad at these forum posts! Long story short, would any of you mind if I joined this group? I started following the Aug 15 group, but this one makes more sense because I am actually starting tomorrow. I love the posts here and can feel some great energy from you all....also love working as a team :-)

    I'm planning to start a challenge tomorrow too - I completed one two years ago but have just been 'drifting' for a while now and want to feel that buzz that I had before. I've tried to start a new challenge a few times but haven't managed to follow through - I'm hoping that with joining this group I'll be able to stick with it this time...I really really want to! And hopefully I can help and encourage others too so that each and everyone of us makes it to the full 12 weeks. Looking forward to being a part of this group journey. (I'm actually feeling nervous!)

    I am also new to this forum and look forward to the encouragement from all of you and me encouraging you. I completed my first Challenge about 10 years ago and lost 65 pounds. I am also 50 years old, and  have maintained my weight loss throughout the years but need to lose the last 10 pounds that are hindering my confidence.

    Thanks Solidrocker for inspiring us to come aboard for the Challenge tomorrow. You're photos are very inspiring.
