So glad to see so many signed up for this :) What's the plan on how we're motivating each other? Are we posting here or forming a different group?
I'm really looking forward to helping each other stay on track.
I'm starting on august 1st too. Let me know the plan.
Hello again everyone!
So nice to see more and more people trickling in!! I think this group will be a great source of motivation and support. I vote to just continue our posts here rather than starting a new thread...at least that seems to be what most people have done previously. I'm at work right now (graveyards, ugh) and have been spending most my free time planning for the upcoming challenge. I made it to the gym one time this week and went through the UB exercises. I went at 3am so I would have the place to myself...it was nice to review what I'll be doing without anyone around. I feel more prepared knowing exactly what exercises I'll be doing and how much weight to use. I also have a meal plan for the first week and am going to work on week 2 sooner rather than later. Honestly, I'm scared. I've never done anything like this before. But something needs to be done. I'm 75 pounds overweight and weak, weak, weak. I really appreciated the post mentioning all or nothing thinking. I fall victim to that quite often and I know it will rear it's ugly head during the challenge. I'm going to do my best to be disciplined, yet compassionate with myself. How is everyone else doing?
Happy Birthday es! Hope you have a great day.
I'm all set for monday. Can't wait to start!
Well done Joy - 3am!! that's commitment.
I started BFL earlier this year, but stopped after week 8 (I went on a 3 week holiday...) Great holiday by the way! :) ANway - I am all fired up and WILL finish it this time!
Enjoy your weekend!
Starting BFL tomorrow, bit scared that I'll fall off the wagon (again) trying to remember to take it one meal/workout at a time! I've a bad habit of thinking all or nothing too, reading in the new BFL book about changing your thinking to making progress rather than aiming for perfection.
I've been working on my plans in a journal, working on goal setting, menu plans & lists, did some shopping yesterday & started some meal prep today, so feeling more organised than before.
We are hiring a treadmill for 3 mths or so, hubby already has some weights, so should be set to workout from home. Aiming to get them done when the kids are having midday naps.
Feeling scared & excited, really want to finish the 12 weeks.
Great work on getting to the gym/walking the dogs!
I am also starting August 1st and would love to join this group.
Looking forward to it!
It seems a lot of us share a common fear of failure. Lets support each other and remember that the only thing to fear is fear itself. If we allow fear and negative thoughts to rule our lives then what kind of life do we have? I am NOTORIOUS for being pumped up about something and then quitting. Not this girl...not this time. I am going to have to control my thoughts and take it one day at a time :-) Planned my first weeks meals and husband is helping, which helps me.
Trying to figure out if everyone is able to read my replies when typing in here. I am starting Aug 1st. I really want to stay on top of this forum to keep me and the rest of us motivated. I spent this evening planning my first week of meals, grocery list, etc. So excited to start monday. I did it about 10 yrs ago and it works!!! But I mainly did it for 8 wks and hit my peak and trailed from there... But still did good. Now I have 2 kids and need to find it again.
Let's all make a goal of ours not to fall into the all-or-nothing. Now that doesn't mean cheating is okay to do... It means if you made a mistake, DON"T GIVE UP!!!! But realize you can't go back, but rather get back on track. It is the biggest key for people failing. If you mess up on occasion, it doesn't mean you are screwed and give up, it means you realized you were weak and are stronger than that and get back on the wagon and go!!! We can all do this for 12 weeks. 12 weeks of our lives to feel in our best shape ever and continue the positive changes from there but commit yourself to 12 weeks! Let's do this Aug 1st group!
Plan ahead!! It makes all the difference.
1st day today went really well, followed my food plan & had a good workout, feeling sore already!
Hope everyone is getting ready to start tomorrow or day after, I'm in New Zealand so not sure of the time zone difference, so good luck.
umm protein bar and cup of tea for my last meal!
I am starting tomorrow...would love to join your group!
Well, I've done the grocery shopping, created menus, designed my workout program and next will be before pics and measurements. This is the scariest part, but I'm ready for it.
hi there, i am starting tomorrow too. im not sure how to go about adding people or staying in touch with people. At the moment I am 30yrs old with a BMI of 41!!! I am in need of transforming my life and physique - hence joining in with the challenge. what sort of goals have people set themselves?
Hi, I am planning on starting tomorrow, August 1st. I completed a challenge 11 years ago and did very well. I am now 51 and menopause has made the last 5-6 years sort of a lost period as far as fitness is involved. I am feeling better and ready to make some changes. My body and my life are craving commitment and structure for my diet and exercise program and BFL is the best place for that.
I have planned my menu and I am off to the grocery now!
