Maybe someone out there can answer this question for me...
We are in the 4th week, and my UBWOs still cause me to be sore for a few days after each one. In fact I am usually sore up to the day before my next UBWO. (This is the "I feel the muscles and know they are there" soreness.)
On my LBWOs I work just as intense, however, I only feel a slight soreness in my abs for about a day or two.
I am not using free weights, I use the weight equipment at the gym. I use twice (or more) the amount of weight on my lower body as I do on my upper body.
I have lower back issues, so I am very careful about my form when performing each exercise.
For my cardio workouts, I have worked up to walking/jogging interverals on my personal treadmill.
I substituted one LBWO with Callanetics (kind of like yoga in motion) instead of weights last week, and got the lower body soreness I usually get with my UBWO.
Why am I not sore with my LBWO when using weights? Am I doing something wrong?
Hi anyone still here
I started Jun 1 at 210 lbs, stomach at 45.2. 1st week I dropped 10 lbs and then bounced up to 204 and held there for 3 weeks as my fatty belly melted and I built some muscle. Now I am at 200 lbs but find on my cheat eating day that I actually gain 2 inches on my belly (I drink heaps of water). I have been drinking 2-4 glasses of wine on my off day and yesterday (off day) I actually did some long walks with sprints mixed in and pigged out last night. Overall my chest is developing and my stomach is a bit leaner but the old biceps are larger but SOFT. My stomach measurement 2 days ago was 39, today it is 42"... funny how 1 bad day can do that but I am lifting dramatically heavier weights now and using Myoplex (Normal), EAS Whey Protein and a product which is in the creatine family called Kre-Alkalyn which I really like. On my LBWO days I barely hurt at all but my UBWO days... well I hurt for days...
I went out walking through the city center, it happened just the other day. Sometimes Sydney Harbor in the winter, blows a little luck my way.
Trying N.O. Explode = awesome product, so much energy and power to run..
glad to have you aboard. I'm not to sure what happened to the others but i hope that they have just been to busy training to log in.
Sounds like your doing well, i wouldn't worry to much about the measurements fluctuations for now as a few glasses of water will swell the stomach enough to do that and as far as the N.O Explode... yeah it's pretty fantastic to get you up and atom. Another good one to try is the Jack 3D. It is as good as the N.O Explode without the added calories and additives that they put in to make it look as your getting more for your money, It's worth a try.
Wish you well my friend, My weigh in is on Sunday, it will be just over 4 weeks and i'm hopeful of a good result as my eating is spot on except for my Free Days and i have yet to miss a workout.
Bye for now
MaxYost - good one, keep on punching I say !
MAX Yost - will try the Jack 3D next as I go crazy on the Explode but I am lifting MUCH HEAVIER weights since I started on that and Krealkalyn Creatine 2 weeks or so back..
end of week 5 today and I am feeling tired but getting great results... fitting into clothes that I couldn't even when I was 15 lbs lighter (muscle building nicely)... am at about 5% lower body fat then at start..... even my gross stomach is melting away
Dogsbrekky - Yeah i'm with you in the feeling tired stakes but i'm pushing it pretty hard. I only dropped 1/2 a pound on the scales last week which was a bit of a shock but i can see and feel major changes taking place, it's amazing how much emphasis we put on the weight loss isn't it !
Feeling heaps committed and defiantly have heaps more energy and my thinking is a lot clearer.
I'm glad your powering on with the program and look forward to seeing more of your results in the weeks to come.
MaxYost - my weight has been steady for 5 weeks.. I don't care about weight as long as the stomach melts... l am already fitting into smaller pants and shirts and my chest is getting definition as are my shoulders and arms.... I will keep punching..
IS everyone else still watching the Casey Anthony trial ... cause it looks like it's just you and I are here
Max - BTW I am from Adelaide but have not lived there since 1982... originally a Kidman Park lad

I NEED HELP!!
The last two weight training sessions have been very strange. I am fine thru most of my first exercise set. But by the end, I get horrible head pain on the top of my head and near the temples. This is a pounding / exploding type pain. When I stop exerting it gets better, but usually lasts for hours. I have rechecked my form, but I am usually very careful about form because I have lower back problems. I rechecked my breathing and realized I might have been holding my breath some. When I concentrate on my breathing it eases but doesn't go away. This is not a muscle type pain. I have read a little bit about exertion headaches and I am wondering what I should do.
Has any one experienced head pain when lifting weights?
FitnFabNana = you are getting very bad EXERTION headaches... drink MUCH MORE WATER before and during your workout... by more I mean triple what they suggest... drown your body for the 1 hour before, during and after the workout... also maybe add more nice carbs like strawberries or blackberries before you workout (if you can).....
Most athletes I know (pros) and gym rats take a gallon bottles to the gym
dogsbrekky - Thanks, I will give that a try. I drink much more than the 8-10 glasses a day, except last weekend I went on a short vacation and cheated a bit on food and drink. Drank some sodas and didn't get as much water as I usually do. It was hard to get back to drinking as much water as I was before.
