So far, I have myself (hgdaisy), BFLJames, Ruby4444, LauraLifestyleChanges, WLDR_GRL, Grammabig, Timothy6-11, and DXN2 as the group beginning on or around 5/23. As cheesy as it sounds, I think we should come up with a group name to identify ourselves--it will make it easier to do 'roll calls' and check in on each other, motivate, commiserate, etc. Any suggestions? Maybe something summer-ish, as we're starting a week before Memorial Day?
Good first day for me, although I could not get in a sixth meal. Did great with the other five, though! I started with a lower body workout today, although I know the 'schedule' on BFL starts with upper body. My lower body is the part I need the most work on, and even though there are equal #s of upper and lower body workouts over the course of the 12 weeks, I felt like kicking it off with lower body was more motivating for me.
I bought a scale today that measures body fat as well as general weight. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet--read a bunch of reviews (after I bought it, of course!) and I'm not sure how accurate it will be. Anyone have experience with a body fat analysis scale? This is the cheapest one, $30 Weight Watchers/Conair brand that I bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I started today. First day was good, 6 meals is a lot harder than I thought it would be.
I started 5/23 as well and believe that team support is one of the best keys to success... to motivate and hold accountable.
The body fat on your scale should be reasonably accurate. Though, body fat taken with a caliper is typically more accurate. You will find that the more water you intake, the lower your bf will be.
I was thinking the same thing about a name. There are a bunch of starting threads out there. It would be good to have a consolidated place to call home. Not very creative at the moment but will think on it.
Had a great second day. I did better on the treadmill than I expected. My legs were very sore from yesterdays workout. A little warm up got me moving.

I still need to eat a 6th meal before going to bed. Went a little over kill on the water today. Had 16 cups in by 4:00. I drank 4 extra cups for the 2 cups of coffee I had.
In Canada, today was Victoria Day. Nothing really inspirational comes to mind with that.
I'm not sure where everyone went! Did we change the name and I lost you all? On day 4 an so far ok. Not a good run this am, sore from leg day yesterday. Looking forward to upper body in the am. Putting the weight bench together now.

I'm still here! I think only two people voted on the name, but we're going to go with it---May Mod Bods (for May Modified Bodies). Day 5 here today and so far so good. I've stuck to the eating plan pretty well (two days I only got 5 meals in, but all days were great protein:carb ratio). Work outs have been tough. I've been doing boot camp classes for a long time, so I thought I'd be fine for the upper and lower body workouts. Lifting heavy weights has really humbled me! I'm sore all over, but feeling that soreness reminds me that there are some muscles hiding in there ; )
I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day weekend. We are travelling, so I know it will be tough, but I've got a grocery list to shop for myself as soon as we get to our destination, and my husband has promised that if he sees me eyeing any unhealthy foods, he'll set me straight.
I'm doing lower body today (started Monday with lower body), cardio tomorrow, and then I'm going to use a set of resistance bands to get an upper body workout in on Monday morning (no access to weights where we are going).
I ordered a bunch of bars and ready-to-drink shakes from the Abbott/EAS outlet store, so hopefully those will show up early next week. What products/supplements are you all taking? I'm eating some of the Myoplex bars and drank my first Carb Control RTD strawberry shake yesterday. I'm also taking CLA. I'd greatly prefer to eat whole foods to get all of my protein and carbs, but I have a job where I am in and out of people's home all day a couple days/week, and have to carry all of my food with me in the car when I leave at 8am. The bars and shakes are a life saver, especially now that it is 90 degrees here and I don't want to be eating cottage cheese and yogurt that spent 6 hours in a cooler in the car ; )

Still Here and going strong. Been doing well with both diet and workouts. I've been maxing out at 5 meals a day. I seem to miss one snack during the day. I also feel paranoid about eating too late. So far it seems to be working for me. I haven't been hungry.
I lost about 5 lbs this week. I have to qualify that a bit. I knew I was starting and I had visitors during the week prior. I pretty much ate and drank with wild abandon for the week before starting. I think I artificially bumped my weight up a bit.
This weekend will be interesting. I will be away for a couple of days and will have to get creative to get my exercise in.
Well, good luck everyone. We all knew we were starting this thing around Memorial Day. No excuses to go binging this weekend. Work hard and eat right. You'll still enjoy the weekend.
Hello May Mod Bods - I decided to officially start May 31st and got back in the gym to get my weights all set and see what I can (or should) lift and wow just this week alone I got sore (in a good way)
So I'd be honored to join your group....did you guys create a thread called the MMB or May Mod-Bods to that effect?

Good morning MMB (may mod bod) group! It is sunny Saturday in Arizona and week one is coming to a close. Had a good run this morning. Then, I got on the scale............. Down 6 pounds!!!!! Free food day today as it is my grandsons first birthday. Will enjoy cake. Just a small slice.

Good work everyone. Today was my day off. I spent it doing 4 hours of yard work. Even after only a week on BFL I felt better doing yard work than usual. I did more than I usually do. I think the BFL attitude is rubbing off in other areas.
