starting 09 May 2011 - Have done this before in 2001 and had great results then! Anyone joining same time?

  • Hi All

I AM SOOOO sore....  I considered not doing a work out because of the soreness but then figured that I don't remember in Bills Book reading that its OK to take days off due to soreness and I am sure this would have come up with first weekers like us!!!  But I could have missed it in the book so please put me right if I missed that!... In the champions BFL book I am reading at the moment they seemed to press through so that is what I decided to do.

My legs were like jelly and sore before my cardio yesterday... they were even worse after... but I have to confess a few hours later I was feeling way less sore.  Today I too am also still sore from my Monday workout but rightly or wrongly decided to "go for it for my UBWO and exceeded the weights from my past workout, bit it was really hard and I really had to push myself when I wanted to give up and take it easy!!!!"  I could barely make my protein shake after my workout my arms were so like jelly.... but again a few hours later I am feeling fantastic and so stunned of what my body is capable of!!!

Tomorrow is day off for me (Saturday here in NZ) that works best with my family so my next workout is cardio on Sunday.

Anyone really struggling? I start to struggle about week 5.... but this week I am on track 100% and have even already gone to black coffee... not overly enjoying it but getting used to it!!!!  My family is STUNNED that I am drinking black coffee all the time now!

I want to change more than I want to stay the same - so that means making changes. Someone please remind me of that in week 5 when my zeal may be flagging... but I sure hope not, I am in the zone at the moment, and it has taken a while to get there!

  • Happy Friday!

Feeling pretty good today.  Looking forward to finishing the work week and enjoying the weekend.  Instead of doing my workout in the AM ~ I've been doing them after work.  When is the best time?  I've heard you should work out in the AM, if at all possible, so your body can get a "jump start" on the day.

Water intake yesterday again not as much as I had hoped.  I'm just not thirsty enought to down a glass or glasses of water....HELP!!

I'm going to one of our local nutrition stores this weekend to get the protien bars / shakes and really make my meal plans for next week.  I do like the ideas of containers so everything is ready to go when you leave for the day.

    Have a WONDERFUL Friday everyone!!

  • YAY week one over for me now, finished my exercise with a hill walk uphill and a run down.  Got the heart pumping!  Don't knoe what I'll eat on my Free Day besides one of my carrot cake muffins, but looking forward to it.

1 week down, 11 to go!

  • Same here, about to finish my first week. I guess my free day is sunday.

I've made it to the gym every day this week, and any over eating has been more than made up for with some extra exercise classes. Lost about 6 pounds.

    BFL is pretty amazing.

  • Hi everyone,

Starting week 2 today, off to do upper-body.  Hope your all doing well, I have also lost 3kg (6ish pounds) yay!!  Spent my free day eating chocolate...mmmmm.

I too am a coffee drinker and have limited coffee to 2 a day, I love vanilla protein shake with ice and a shot of espresso!!

    Woo hoo week 1 down!

  • COngrats to those who have seen the scales move this week, I am waiting until the end of week 2 to do that. (If I can)  I don't feel as though I have lost any (yet).

I've been hungry between meals which makes me focus too much on when I am next getting a feed!!  So, will have to monitor that and tweak.

    All the best everyone!  '-)

  • Hi all! CONGRATS  to all of us who have started the change of life and body this week.!!!!! Your AWSOME !!

Have done my last work out this week today, hit an 10`on the trademil.

This week have been GREAT!, every mucel have been sore, lower body the worst, but it was all worth it.

Have lost about 2,5KG, and a few inches, but i know that the big results is to come during the next weeks, as we all get more mucels the body will burn more fat.

For those who have struggle to get eating as planned, remember this was the first week, and also the worst because the body is not yet used to all the great food and water - Just keep focus an plan even better next week.

Wish you all and great weekend, celebrate your new lifestyle and start planning for an even better week 2.

    Motivatetd wishes from Norway !

  • Hi All,

Don't forget to come back from free day!!!!  I have two cheat meals rather than a free day. I found in my last challenge that I went overboard on a free day! So two cheat meals suits me. One of them was a stir fry but with a larger portion of white rice !  The other was Lasagne and salad with a chewy white roll... yum and some dessert. But all not big portions or anything.  Good to be back on the healthy food!!!

I had a lousey cardio yesterday... my legs were like lead... but I did it!!!!  Yay.  Today I had a great LBWO and have a feeling that cardio tomorrow could be a challenge again as my legs were like jelly after workout today!!!! So here into week two, go us!!!!!

I have not stood on the scale and wont until week 12!!!!  It did my head in last challenge not seeing the scale move despite doing the program 100%!  I am one of those that starts to see results in week 8 onwards so I know that about my self!!!  But jeans are feeling looser so I will go by that for week 1! I envy those of you that see results on the scale!!!!!  For those that don't.... put them to one side and pick them up later!!!!!

I too am feeling really hungry on the weight training days so I am planning a bit better now on those... to have meals with lots of veggies etc that helps me!  eg stir fry or huge salads.  On cardio days I am finding that I am not so hungry so its much easier and I probably eat less and only do 5 meals on the days I am not hungry. But on the days I am I eat all 6 and look forward to every one of them!!!!

This is so much better when I am well organised!!!!!! Did a cook up yesterday of rice, potatoes chicken etc and got all my little containers organised!!!

Lets enjoy week two team and realise we are a week closer to our goals :-)

  • Good Morning and welcome to W2 D1.  I think I did pretty good this weekend although we went to 2 Graduation parties, I was very careful of what and how much I ate.

I did go to the store and got more healthy food items for the week and also went to our local nutrition store for the protien shakes / bars.

Water intake is still very low!  Need to focus on drinking!

Have a GREAT day and we will chat again soon...

  • Hi all

Good news an bad news today. Good news is that I got to the gym and was having an awesome workout. Bad news is I hurt my back doing squats. Ouch!  Good news is that clearly there is a little muscle there that is trying to get bigger. Yay! It's working. ;-)

All good for tomorrow.... Although I will keep away from the squat machine as it hates me. :-(

    Hav a great day

    Every second counts!

  • Week One is is gone, ready for week 2!

I did pretty well on my free day. Made my favorite chicken casserole, but cut the recipe in half so that there wouldn't be any leftovers to tempt me later!

I worked out this morning and I can really feel a difference in how my body feels today when I didn't eat the best yesterday. My calves are screaming at me . . . why did I wear heels to work????

It's going to be a great day!

  • Good Morning!

I have a confession to make ~ I did not work out yesterday :(  I had every intention of doing my workout last night but went to the barn instead.  (I have 2 horses).  I just groomed and did a little ground work with the one horse and watched my husband take his first buck and a rear while

on our 3 year oldquarter horse, that is in training right now.

I will make up yesterday's workout and do tonight's workout again watching "The Biggest Loser".

Meals yesterday were good.  I was able to eat off of my mini meals and not be hungry at all.  My mind was telling me I was hungry but my stomach said no.  I listened to my stomach!  :)

Have a GREAT day and I will chat again soon...

  • Hi all,

Who is still following this challenge who started on 9th May 2011 ???  It seems REAL quiet...

Nearly into week 3 now!!! :-)  Yay.  I am still hungry on my weight training days but so far have followed plan 101% and seeing some great results!  I need to go to my next size down jeans as these ones are just getting too loose! How cool...

I am trying to hit my 10's and I am stunned at how much I am pushing on the weights. I have never pushed this hard before... I have done weights off and on since my 2001 challenge but I am amazed that in a few short weeks I am so focussed!

I am CONVINCED that being organised is what has kept me on track and seriously I seem to own a whole cupboard of new plastic containers!!!  But cant live without them!

So hope that there are still some that are going that started on 09th May! Please let me know if you are! I would love to see a menu of what others are eating!

    Blessings

    Jeannette

  • Hi Truegrit

Yes I was thinking the same, maybe it's the time difference???  All is very quiet.  Well there is at least 2 of us continuing.......

Can you let me know what a typical daily food plan is for you?  I have been getting hungry between meals, and find my energy is dropping.  this morning I did my leg workout and by 10.30am was having a nap, absolutely stuffed!!    I thnk I need to eat more, maybe being a little strict on the protions.  All I can say is that being 46 not 36 this time does have a big impact.

Where  is all this extra energy is that we are supposed to get, WHO HAS MINE - GIVE IT BACK!!

Would appreciate your input.  Also, what is your starting weight and what are you hoping to lose?  I want to drop 10 - 15 pounds.  5kgs be good.

    Thanks

    Pam

PS isn't Friday night great, knowing that Saturday is only a day to go before a day off.

Well done for getting to end of WEEK 2!!
