Hello all, got room for another? I am 44 year old male, originally from Wisconsin, but now live in Indiana. I have started the program many times, and usually only made it a week or two. I am ready to give it another shot! I have a daughter becomming a teenager this week, and it has really hit me that I must get into shape so I can eventually play sports with my grandkids (MANY years in the future)! I am at 215lbs, and would like to get to 180-185, Starting tomorrow morning! Let's have a great first week!
Good Morning and Happy Mother's Day to all you ladies out there!
I'm a 48 year old female from Iowa and I also will be starting tomorrow, May 9th. I've done BFL in the past and did fairly well ~ the last time was 3 years ago for my step daughter's wedding in Mexico. I have truely let myself go and don't like the person that I see in the mirror. I am 5'4" and weighed in at 154 yesterday ~ YUCK!
I'm ready to begin BFL again and know that will all of your support and my family's I can reach my goals!
Have a GREAT Mother's Day!
Teri
Happy Mother's Day everyone!
Is anyone filling out the forms for the actual challenge? I have never done that before and see that it is now online...very nice. I am just wondering how many are filling it out and can you continue to edit it all the way through.
I am thinking about getting a notebook together and dividing it into 12 weeks so that I can really plan ahead. What do you think about doing the same workout exercises for two weeks in a row? I am doing mine at home so I won't be able to vary too much.
Also, I am going to do something toward my workout for every so many pounds I lose..for example...the first 10 pounds I will get a kettle bell...what do you want?
This is great all of us wanting to get togeher to better ourselves and enrich our lives. I'm ready ! my weight is in my measurements were all taken this morning/ I'm doing my before pic in a couple minutes. My heart and my mind are in for this journey- I'm so excited that we are doing this together..
My name is Jenny I'm from Chicago - My prayers are with us all for strenghth and courage and power to be better people...I think I have aa chance with all of you here..I know going in this will not be easy but it can be done...BFL !!! jennybgetfit
Am just new to this. I am in dire need of weight loss and transforming myself. Just had surgery a week ago and have been inormed that I need an new knee. Before that can happen, I need to lose 60 pounds. I would be happy to follow along with you. I am starting tomorrow, May 9.
Hey girls, I am starting week 2 tomorrow, so I am definitely in!!! I too did the BFL program about 8 years ago and did great on it. I am having a hard time so far this time around and could definitely use some support.
I just finished chemotherapy about 14 weeks ago and am still on prednisone due to a lung infection. I have gained about 25lbs because of the treatment I was on so am frustrated with all this weight gain. I am moving to Hawaii this summer and need to be bathing suit ready!!!!!!
Jennybgetfit: Thanks for the message! Red Stickered means the gym will have to be demolished. We had a big earthquake on Feb 22, and the gym is one of about 200 buildings in Christchurch that are coming down. Yes I finished two challenges back to back in 2001, lost about 11 pounds on the scale but a lot of inches! Worked really well for me, I have only really gained it back in the last 2 years, seems to be more stubborn now, so here I go again!
I just finished my first workout, upper body, felt faint, sick (head between knees) carried on, and yes did throw up! I persevered and finished, and then had a lie down for 1/2 an hour!!! No one will find this challenge easy, and we are all here for support. Just aim for continual improvement and don't beat yourself up!!
I've got the same 10-15 pounds to lose again, sigh, but plan to keep it off this time. Easier to put it on than take it off that's for sure.
Good luck!

TImothy611, the first 1 - 2 weeks are the hardest, it's getting the routine down, and sorting out the food, after that you are away laughing. Good luck!
Hi all !
Yep agree that the first two weeks are the hardest getting into the routine and being organised! I was so pleased I had planned today so that when I got up I was ready to go. Did my upperbody workout... was tough but I DID IT!!!! I know I will be sore later... also the tough thing for the first few weeks in particular.... also if this is like last time I was SO tired the first week!
The water is going to be a challenge with the cooler weather here in New Zealand! I am just outside of Christchurch and doing my workouts at home but got a good set up with a bench, free weights and machine. My husband is also joining me on the challenge so he has tuna salads etc packed today as well!!!
Have my meals in containers for the day so off I go! Hope you all have a great first workout and good first day. I want to change more than I want to stay the same!!!!!!

Hello Trugrit,
Im just starting again, but the difference between you and me is you completed yours i gave up a couple of times before the 3rd week, This time Im fully commited and theres no stopping me. im 36 yrs old, 223 lbs. & a mommy of 4 boys. I have been slowly training myself to eat clean & get active since new years But it wasnt until last month I stuck with it and lost 9 lbs, THATS how I know this time I can do it, I will finish my 12 weeks!! Just like you im looking for motivational support, I hope you we can support eachother
I am starting on Tuesday the 10th, and would like to be held accountable with this group. You all sound like you could help me.
We can all help eachother. Everything is in order for tomorrow..Wake up 5.30am and off to the gym for 20 minute cardio and upper body, I do much better when I warm up with cardio .I have read some older posts and that is what some of the others have done. I talked with my boss which is also my ex..:) He knows I have tried this before, however I asked for his support and he's with me..I had my friend take my before pics this morning. I have officialy entered the challenge..Alright my BFL friends I will log in tomorrow. I hope everyones day was nice and sleep well. Jen
I filled out the challenge form; and, yes, you can continue to edit it~ just save as you go. Being organized and planning ahead are key to success, I think! I am also doing my work-outs at home, and will not be able to vary my exercises. It will be a learning experience for both of us! I like your rewards...my husband and I were talking today about what we could do when we reach the end of our 12 weeks...still thinking about it.
I really like the medicine balls, so maybe we will get additional ones as we reach milestones!
Hello! I know what you mean ready2b...I am one of those people who has started the program & not completed it because life gets hectic~ but, I really want to complete the challenge in 12 weeks~ Stay Committed to my goals! I think we can all help each other stay focused & lift each other up when it gets tough!
