STARTED 4/11/2011... ANYONE WITH ME?

  • Greetings! Just a note to let you all know I've done good this week every day. The bursitis below the knee on the inside has kind of let up after I went to the dr and he told me what it was. But oh my gosh the thighs are sore today from Wed. LBWO, I did those hip abductors or whatever kind of was staying away from the quad lifts since the dr said they were not good for the sore bursa in the knee tendons. Think this kind of pain means I worked the muscle but cannot walk because of them now! Did good on cardio today it just felt so much easier I must be getting stronger. Whooopee! Looking forward to UBWO again tomorrow, did it Mon. and felt a little pain in my chest but not bad...Glad I started on this, weight is still terrible but I'm just going to keep plugging along and be a really strong fat girl I guess. Oh well!

  • Hello to all.

Bikergma, I am feeling the same about the weight and will keep plugging along with you. At least my clothes are a little looser around the middle. I figure, we are a third of the way there , and it took me years to develop these lovely layers of fat. I do feel stroner too.

Hi to everyone else! I just did cardio, felt good too.

Does anyone know what happened to wiggles, who started this thread/

  • Happy Friday Everyone!!!!  Had a good LBWO today,  been having trouble getting 6 meals in. I guess I need to start earlier in the day.  It will come off, I do feel my clothes are loser also.  I hate the scale if I get on it and it hasnt moved I get the urge to go on a eating binge. Sounds crazy I know but thats what it does to me.

I do not know what happend to Wiggles,  Seems like a few others are MIA also. HOpe they are doing good.

Have a great weekend everyone !!!

  • FYI, if you have a facebook page did you know EAS has a page you can like?  They have some interesting stuff on there regarding products and different  stuff.

  • TGIS.

Katiebug, Did you get your diploma yet? I have been thinking that if I were you, I would have stopped thinking too much about diet and working out with only 2 weeks to go until graduation. Hope you are well.

Just finished ubwo. Something feels off in my shoulder/back. I am glad ub is only one time next week.

Hopefully everyone is injury or pain free. Melissa

  • Hey ladies great progress for you all... Still going strong here and feeling good still.. keep up the good work .. aloha

  • Haberchic checking in. How is everyone progressing? My experience so far is that I've been able to get all of my workouts in with no problem, I'm struggling more with the eating part. My arms and legs are showing more muscle definition and I feel much stronger. My problem area is my stomach and waist, and it doesn't seem to be changing at all. This is where I really need to see some change happening and I'm not.  I weigh 2 more pounds than I did when I started. Is anyone still keeping track of your calories while eating 5-6 times a day? I think I might do that this week, just to see if I'm eating too much.

  • Hello everyone!!!!  Glad to see everyone still going strong. Was a good weekend and a not so bad free day!!!  Had a really good UBWO.  Hope everyone has a great day!!!

  • @AnnaFL,

My free day was not TOO bad. I did eat a hotdog and some fries, but I only ate a little of that stuff. I guess there is a reason Bill Phillips tells us to have a free day... so we can see just how sluggish we feel after a "free day" meal.

    @Bikergma,

I love those hip abductors. There is also a machine just like it called hip "adductucors" at my gym. It targets the inner thighs. I know what you mean about the soreness. When I first started using that machine, I was barely eeeking out three sets of 8 reps at 20lbs. Now I'm up to 50lbs 4 sets 15,12,10,8 and I STILL feel that soreness everytime I add more weight.

  • Hi all. So far so good with the workouts, the eating continues to be a problem. I wish I didn't think about snacking on junk so much. Melissa

  • Hi Melissa and everybody, my eating and weight loss are a problem also. I have cut down a lot on junk foods but not much weight loss, having a problem with low energy and that makes me crave a snack. Took my 50,000 unit of vit. D hoping it would help but it didn't this time, low D can make you tired too and is common in the northern states not enough sunlight on the skin. But I DID workout today pretty good, do good on the machines and getting muscles, but stupid leg still hurts so only did 15 min on the treadmill. I think perserverance is the KEY as long as you don't quit EVENTIALLY we'll be successfull in the long run. Onward!

  • Halfway there, but definitely not getting the results I was expecting or hoping for.   I was expecting to drop at least 20 pounds and knock two inches off my waist, and I figured that after 6 weeks I would have lost 10 pounds and 1 inch from the waist.  But I'm only 4 pounds lighter and my waist is the same size.

The only visible change is that my arms look bigger (and they are, both biceps are almost 2 inches bigger).  I also added almost an inch to my legs, and my waist has stayed the same.  I have only lost 4 pounds of scale weight.

I have only missed two meals and have never cheated on my eating.  My free day has been a bit of a binge fest, so I could work on that.  I have an old knee injury that hinders my cardio efforts, but I figured I would still have made better progress.

I've enjoyed both the healthy eating and the weightlifting and don't plan on giving up on either anytime soon.  I just don't know if I want to stick with body for life for the next 6 weeks or try another transformation program.

I was just wondering how everyone else is doing at the halfway point?

  • tryitnow, I have to confess that this last week has been awful for me. I started out great. By Thursday, all sense of control went out the window in regard to eating. As far as progress, not counting this last week, it has been A LOT slower than my previous challenge. While my pants are definitley loser and I can get into a couple others I haven't worn in a while, the scale doensn't budge, and overall I am frustrated. I think this had a lot to do with my falling off the wagon. It is easier to stick with it when you see results.

That being said, I will get back on the body for life horse tomorrow rather than quit like I have done in the past. Hopefully, I did not ruin everything as minimal as it was.

I really like the working out part, I just have trouble with food. My list of excuses can go on and on.

    Thanks for checking in. Melissa

  • Hi All,

I haven't been on the computer much this weekend. I had a lot of stuff around the house this weekend. I made some burgers on Saturday, because I had company. Then I had to take a Tums. :P I didn't have any beer, though. Just the burger and a handful of fries.

I went to the doctors and found out I lost another 5 pounds. I don't get on the scale at home, because it's not a true read on our progress. So, since I started on April 11th, I lost 15 lbs. I'm starting to see more definition, especially in my arms. This week, I have two UBWO days, so I'm excited, because I'll probably see even more progress. Unlike a lot of BFLers, my arms are getting smaller, because they started out flabby.

  • Great job, ElleBlue!  I've just started and made it thru my first week (and free day).  15lbs in a month is a lot of weight!  I'm trying to resist the temptation to be number-obsessed with the scale, but my husband and I did have some good inch-loss progress.  Mostly water and junk, probably, but I'll take what I can get!

Are you finding it easier to watch your portions when you do have company over or anything else out of the ordinary? That's what I'm most afraid of, I think, because I tend to be a "finisher" (you know, everything on the plate).
