STARTED 4/11/2011... ANYONE WITH ME?

  • Sorry to hear that bikergma, hope nothing serious and you can get back to the gym.

For me I had the best week so far, just finished cardio and what a feeling to finish a entire week of hitting all my 10's. Now to work on my diet it needs some help but will get it together soon I hope.

  • Hi Bronco, no  nothing serious, thanks for thinking of me. ;o) Just a series of family pressures and my knee hurting so I just decided to give  it a rest and perhaps let it heal a little. I haven't lost my commitment and desire to continue BFL. Funny thing too I notice my weight is down when I stopped so I think the hard workouts were actually making me bloat up a bit, the stress of it, so that is good to know too, the lack of seeing it on the scale was a bit frustrating. So I'll be  back on Mon..come rain or shine and it will probably be rain. No wait, RAIN all weekend, sun on Monday!! haha When people go back to work. Hay it is Oregon.

  • Hi bikergma and Happy Mothers Day to you, well that is good it isn't serious, I can understand the family pressures also. Hang in there you will work through it, not sure about the weight but you may be right, glad you got some good news from all that though. I can sadly relate to the rain as I'm in Idaho and getting the same, I'm so ready for summer to get here. Good luck next week I hope it is a great one for you.

  • Hi Everyone.

So It was a good week workout wise, however, my eating leaves a lot to be desired. Oddly enough, when I eat a cheat food, the next day, the scale goes down. Maybe I am not eating enough calories overall.

Bikergma, Hope you are feeling better. Good for you for keeping on track with the food. Food is my weakness. I sound like a broken record.

Pattymelt, I am going to try 30/30 this week as I only have one lbwo to do.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers here. Happy day to the men too!

  • Had a really good week.  Definately hit my 10's,  Thinking of increasing my weights this week or next.  Did have some upper back problems, not sure if I hurt it on UBWO or maybe my posture while jogging isnt so good, not really sure.  Spent 4 hours snorekling and freediving this weekend. Felt so good to be out in the ocean.  Hope all the moms had a wonderful mothers day.

Mac I do the samething, will be stuck at a weight and then I will increase my calories just a little and lose. I think I get to carried away with my portions and make them to small at times.  Have a great week eveyone talk to ya all soon.

  • HI All,

Just finished hiit workout. Definitely hiit 10. Couldn't work the pause button after some of the segments, neede more oxygen!

Pattymelt, I did 30/30 hiit today. For some reason, it was harder than 40/20, although according to Cathe, this is the easiest of the 3 hiit workouts. Also, it is definitely a leg killer!

    Good Monday to everyone.

  • Greetings! Well I got back on the treadmill today and warmed up for 15 minutes then did the UBWO with gusto. Felt awful the first 10 minutes oh my goodness! Doesn't pay to take a week off that is for sure. Thoughts go round and around in my head about my knee ligament it is the left knee on the inside I've read a lot on Google about it. Taking off a week made it so stiff I could barely move it and couldn't straighten the leg so yes they are right KEEP moving when you are injured! Debating whether to go to ortho dr could probably use some pointers as I've had this trouble every time after I exercise for the last few years kind of worried he might tell me it is serious though....since I've always had really strong legs and no problems at all. In denial I think...but anyway back on track again, my daughter went too and is on track. again also. Had ice cream with grandkids yesterday, butter pecan, num..

  • Hello everyone!!!  Hope everyone is doing good.  Still on track here.  Have a great day everyone !!

  • I'm with you Anna had a great UBWO Monday and cardio this morning so still on track and kicking it!

  • Hi Anna and Bronco,

Just finished ubwo. I'm already hungry!

  • Hi everybody I just returned from the orthopedic and sports medicine doctor and I know what I have now! It is PES ANSERINE BURSITIS. No ligiment or cartilege tear so need no surgery, thank God. Evidentially there is a little sac, called a bursa of grease that lubricates the tendons from the hamstrings between the tibia to the shinbone, theres a finger kind of tendon in there that kind of webs. Sooo he prescribed an anti-inflammatory drug and physical therapy, if it doesn't go away soon he can give a shot of cortisone. Some exerices are bad and some are good so I got to figure out what those are. Today I did a half hour on the treadmill and it felt really good, it isn't hurting as bad now so maybe it is going away.  It is good to know what it is anyway in case I get it back..Maybe the information will help some of you, it is common in athletes, runners, butterfly swimmers, etc.

  • Hi Mac, I understand the hungry part I was that way today to and ended up having four protein drinks but I need it lol.

  • Well, I tried to reply from my ipod, and I guess it didn't work, so if a similar post shows up from me, sorry to waste your time.

bikergma, I am glad you found the problem so it can be treated. Good for you for keeping up with the program. When I hurt my shoulder 4 years ago, it was a downward spiral for me and I never quite got back on track, until now. So thanks to you all for your support here.

I have bursitis and arthritis in my right shoulder. I have to be very careful when lifting weights. In a way it has helped me to make sure I am isolating the right muscles. It is easy to use the shoulder for lifting weights and not the chest/back muscle. Anyhow, when my shoulder acts up, it is usually from a sudden movement I make for whatever reason, and not lifting weights. I could go on and on.

Good morning to all, I am off to do my hiit run! Can't wait to feel 5 pounds lighter after the sweatfest!

  • Morning everyone!!!  I am also having Knee problems its tender and a little swollen under the knee cap, I keep trudging on and I try to be extra careful in my HIIT and LBWO.  This morning was a really good UBWO. I am just curious on UBWO how much weight is everone lifting. I am doing 25lbs as my heaviest, thinking I might be ready to increase by 5lbs.  Hope everyone has a blessed day.

    Anna

  • Hi Everyone, Did a lbwo today. Did a short one due to schedule.

AnnaFl, Sorry for the long answer, but here goes, the heaviest I am lifting for chest press is 45 pounds on the barbell. I am between 12-15 pound dbs for biceps. Tris, I am between 8 and 15 depending on the exercise and will use 45 pd bb for close grip chest press. Shoulders I am only at 8-15 pounds for the heaviest, my right shoulder is bad. For back, the heaviest was 60 pounds on barbell. All of this varies depending on the workout I do. Legs, I can't hold more than 45 pounds on barbell because it hurts my shoulders. Anyhow, for weight days, I do Cathe dvds. I do this because there is no way I will get higher than 45 pounds on barbell for weights held over my shoulder. This is because I am alone when I workout and because it hurts. Her Dvds really give me a good leg workout that I feel for days. Also, I like that I have form pointers along the way. One drawback to working out by myself  Is I don't know if I am doing proper form. Sorry this is so much info. When I first started with weights in 2005, I only had 3, 5, 8 pound dumbelss. I then progressed to 10, 15, 20. I got a set of 2 pounds wrist weights that I use to move up only 2 pounds at a time. There is a big difference for me from 15 to 20 pounds.

I am reading posts about the 8 week wonder period. Maybe this will happen to me!!!
