Cutting Crew -- C2 It - April 25th

  • Just a little over a week now!!!

@amypem - I completely got off the BFL program during my 2 week Active Rest.  But what I did do was "Kettleworx" - a 20 minute kettle bell program - 3 days a week. I only worked, in total, an hour per week.  Since kettle bells is resistance, core and cardio training - I just did that.  However, I did maintain "clean eating".

Remember that AR is "REST". It's there to give your body and mind time to recover - especially after your first challenge. Do something that is considered FUN to you.  If lifting weights is fun for you, then do that but just take it easier... maybe lower weights but with more repetitions... maybe 3 sets of 10 reps per muscle group. You get the idea....   Let your body and mind rest. Eat clean and stay active in a fun way!

If it's going to be... It's got to be me

  • Hey... even the crickets are gone now???? LOL

WK 12 - Day 2 for me!!!  Just 5 days for me now (including today). Woke up this morning and popped in Tony Horton's Ab Ripper X... felt good!!! This weekend I ate very clean and had a great LBWO yesterday - although it was extremely hot in my garage! I need more fans! I still have Tazz's Torture to do this afternoon (after work). However, things are looking good. I weighed in this morning and lost another pound. So as of today, officially I've only lost 8 lbs for the entire challenge but I'm feeling so much stronger lately!!!

I'm excited that this challenge is coming to a close. I'll be taking 1 week off for active rest and then back at it again!!! Only this time I'm moving to P90X to try out that program.

Keep up the hard work and hit'em hard Cutting Crew!!!

If it's going to be... It's got to be me

  • No there is only the BFL crickets left in here ( they ate all the other crickets for the protien)

Lets have a roll call of those that are left in here :)  Week 12 .....wow almost there arn't we. So 8 more workouts ( makeing up a few) and I'm done. Looking forward to my 3 weeks of active rest then hitting another challange to finnaly get were I wanted to be. For those left out there with us STAY STRONG we are almost there and the journy has more than been worth the effort! Good luck guys and stay in touch

and again dig deep and hit it hard

  • LOL... Buzz present and accounted for...

If it's going to be... It's got to be me

  • I'm still here!  This past weekend I took a Vinyasa yoga workshop which is practiced in a room heated to about 90 degrees.  I really enjoyed it and was actually sore the next day!  So I think I'm going to do some yoga during my active rest and work on flexibility and core strength.  Glad to see there are still a few of us hanging in here!  I just want to say thanks again to Buzz and Tazz for all the support and guidance throughout this challenge.  Your veteren advice and great attitudes really helped me to make it through.  You guys are the best!

  • Hey Gang!!!! This is a "Drive By" Posting... been very busy at work lately so I havent had much chance to post... but I have been following ya'll... That's right... One Week To Go!!!!! YeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaY

I am personally proud of all those who have stuck it out regardless of injury, vacation, parties... or just lack of wanting to.. (even I get into those modes) Your body thanks you for your efforts... I am well pleased at where  I am at... I think this challenge has been one more of discovery, of just what I am made of... I am so close to where I wanna be my changes are subtle and I have found it difficult to achieve the changes I desire, but know I will get there eventually.... I WILL GET THERE!!!! I am gonna do a modified routine after this challenge.... gonna incorporate some of Tony Hortons Cardio-Type workouts (10-minute trainer course) and will probably stack 2-3 routines/day to lean down more and so I dont lose any body mass (muscle) I will continue weight lifting... maybe modify my sets to more reps and heavy weights and then mix it up with even higher reps and lesser weights to failure.... and I may even do another challenge after this... who knows... the only thing I do know is I have to do something... AND .... something is just what I will do....

See you at the Finish Line in just a few short days!!!!!

Learning to be Happy with Where I am in Life...

  • Hey- I salute you that have done the challenge for the last 11 weeks! It is a life changer! I'm still going for the next two weeks, until my h.s. reunion is over, then take a few weeks off. But this way of eating and working out is part of my life now, so not too much will change for me. So looking forward to seeing the after pics! As a group, you do indeed rock!

  • good morning cutting crew!!!! Good to see ya peeking in BobbyA...I knew you were still with us.... just lurking in the shadows.... but steady and solid as a rock you are... I agree with you... this has become a part of me of who I am.... the eating and the workouts have become what makes (made) me me!!!! Be afraid though BobbyA I have another "Animal Print" brief on the way for my final pics.... TIGER this time though....

I am still plagued with right shoulder pain (rotated the head of my upper arm bone out of the shoulder joint a week ago yesterday) chiropractor popped it back in place but says it will take some time to feel better... he told me I didnt have to stop working out, just reduce the weights some and listen to what my body tells me...

I am pleased with the determination of the few who are still with us in this challenge.... the Elite 5%!!!! Many are called but few actually cross the finish line... I wish more crossed though.... AmyPem... Wolffee... Buzzman... BobbyA.... alchemistress.... you are found in the ranks of the 5%... hold your head up high and be proud.... only 4 more days to go....

I am gonna shift gears after this challenge.... I am gonna do "Tony Horton's 10-minute Trainer" program... His approach is mostly cardio of many different types, (working upper and lower body, core, abs, cardio, etc) hoping to burn off the last bit of "extra" stuff I am still carrying around BUT I will still go to the gym and continue weight training so as NOT to lose any of the muscle gain I have made over the past 6-7 months.... I am so close to size 32 pants its not even funny.... my 33s fit comfortably loose.... I bet I could wear 32s by the end of this week although they may not be the most comfortable... but hey WE are ALL a Work In Progress...

Dont slow down now... the end is so close now.... Press On My brothers and sisters int he battle for a better life...

Learning to be Happy with Where I am in Life...

  • @Tazz and BobbyA - If only 5% finish a challenge... the percentage has got to be smaller for those that finish back-to-back challenges.... just wondering.... hmmmmm

Proud of all of you that stuck with it. This is a lifestyle change and is not easy. If you can do 12 weeks ... you can just about do anything.

For those of you who fell off the wagon... consider it that... you just fell. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and give it another try! You won't be disappointed.  For over 2.5 years, I tried all types of stuff but each time I just didn't have the commitment level that I needed ---- until this past January. I got sick and tired of being "sick and tired".  I tried P90X 2 times in the past and each time only got 2-3 weeks into before quitting. I convinced myself that program was not for beginners... well now I'm taking it HEAD ON... no excuses now... I'm not a beginner.  However, what has changed is MIND SET!!!!  Make it through a BFL challenge and you'll have all the confidence in the world to try anything!!!!

Just because you didn't make it through this challenge... doesn't mean that you can't! Have faith in yourself. I do and know you can do it. Keep using these forums... we're all here for the same reasons!!!!!

If it's going to be... It's got to be me

  • Hello Cutting Crew-

Just wanted to through my hat in the air and let everyone know I am still at the program. My official end date is this Saturday.

Sorry to not be more active in the forums.

Best of luck and congrats to everyone that has endured the 12 weeks!!!!

  • @Buzz-- maybe 1-2%?

Good morning crew!!! Sad to say I missed my workout this morning... had a late nite gig, which I rarely ever do during the week... birthday party at the bar and I was personally requested as the entertainment... $100 richer and sleep deprived here I sit... to add insult to injury I stopped at the chiropractor this morning for yet another adjustment on my right shoulder... the one I messed up last monday lifting 85 pound dumbbells (bench) he popped it again... maybe it will get better now...

only 3 day to go... 2 for Buzz.... I think in light of my shoulder problem I am gonna shift to the 10 minute workout program now.... and do 3/day (which is what I was gonna do after the challenge anyway) its less stress on my joints (done with resistance bands)

Lets Press On Cutting Crew... We are almost there!!!!

Learning to be Happy with Where I am in Life...

  • Good morning Cutting Crew...

Only 2 days left for me. Yesterday afternoon I had a great UBWO. I'm still setting personal records! I wanted to push it this time since it was my last UBWO of C2.

Benched 309 lbs on my 6 rep (5 times... had to have a spot on the last one).

Dumbell Lawnmowers - 100 lbs on my 6 rep

This morning I got up and did Ab Ripper X and will hit the gym after work for my cardio.

@roddysc - Long time no see.  Let us know how you did and post pics!!!!

@Tazz - I feel your pain!  I've been more sore than I've ever experienced and I may have done something to my left should as well yesterday. It hurts like @#$%@!  By the way.... these lifting hooks are really working and helping me with routines that would require finger grip (Lawnmowers, Lat Pulldowns, Lunges, etc.)  Congrats on the $100 ... that's a nice little bonus!!!

If it's going to be... It's got to be me

  • Buzzman, that is an awsome amount to bench, fantastic performance. I also had a high yesterday on my LBWO, maxed the leg press machine in my gym 405lbs. , easy could have done alot more.

I also look forward to all the pics and stats from the finishers.

  • @roddysc... I'm weak in the legs... 405 lbs is impressive - good job!  Ask Tazz what he does... that'll shock you!!!

@all - OK... you guys know the 8th week miracle right? - I'm down to 203 lbs. officially today.  All the way through week 8... I only lost 3 lbs this challenge.  Since then (starting week 9) I've lost 6.5 lbs in addition and I know more is still to come. During my Active Rest of 2 weeks after C1... I lost 7 lbs!!! I'm hoping something like that happens again when I take an AR of 1 week. I'll let you know.  But as far as this 8th week miracle... for me anyway... it's started after week 8 and all the way after week 12 both in C1 and now also in C2!!!! Everybody is different.

If it's going to be... It's got to be me

  • Wow you guys just popped in say hi. You are all soooo amazing and STRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so looking forward to your after photos from this cycle...Do we have any champs here???? Finish strong guys and gals!
