Question for the Ladies

  • I have a question for all the ladies.  I am on my 3rd week, day 15.  I have been hitting all my work outs and eating well.  I went to the store today to try on some new clothes for spring and was appalled at how awful I looked in everything!  I am actually looking worse in my current clothing size!  Today was an upper body day and I noticed the sleeves of all the outfitts were very tight.  Has anyone had this problem early in the program?  I am committed to the 12 week program but am starting to feel very discouraged that "my size" is now too small.

  • Rebekah it's not uncommon for there to be a slight weight gain/size increase during the first 4 weeks.  This doesn't last long at all and in the next couple of weeks you will start to see your body start shrinking.  Hang in there.

  • I am also on day 15 and I am having the same issue. But I make sure I hit my high points and I have been sore a day or two after all of my workouts. The first free day I went all out. This past free day I ate the BFL way the first half of the day, and I'm going to try to stick with that.

Stay encouraged, we can do this!

  • Ladies also be sure you are really pushing your high points on HIIT cardio as well.  You don't want to be able to do more than nod at someone during your high point, talking shouldn't be an option. ;o)

  • thank you!!!  As for the high points, I can't even nod...I normally have my eyes closed and am seering in pain!  But in a good way.  Also, I have taken on a small side project of walking a friends Rottie at lunch for an hour every day.  Is it ok that I am adding this extra work out in as well as my BFL work outs?  I don't want to over do it, but I don't want to under do anything either.

  • As long as the Rottie isn't walking you...  ;o)

  • Sounds like you gained some nice muscle in your arms which is quite common (this quickly) if you are new to weight lifting.  Soon your body fat will drop as well and you'll see nice lean and toned arms.  Stay positive, good changes are happening!!

  • This has happened to me, too, but in my quads as well as my arms.  I attribute it to muscle gain preceeding fat loss.
