John, well, I'd love having you for a trainer.... Too bad you don't live closer! I gotta go where the Coast Guard takes us, and CO isn't close to any ocean. :) I'm sure it is easier to run in GA than in the higher elevation of CO. :) (I'm discounting the summer heat here, of course!) :)

Checking in before I go workout. I hope everyone is having a great day. I personally am feeling great! I put on a bathing suit early this morning that I have been afraid to wear because it is not a full coverage bottom but I must say, I look pretty good. I really need a tan though. I will make that my mission this weekend... to find a Mystic or Versa Tan spot that I can afford. I'm so afraid of tanning beds but I don't mind laying out as long as the weather is good. Unfortunately, they are forecasting rain this weekend. Hopefully they are wrong. As far as pictures, I know John doesn't want to put us to shame with his 6 pack... that's the real reason he won't put any up :)
We have the rest of our lives to perfect this....do your best and forget the rest!
Hello Team Triumph! Its Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are both craving a big juicy hamburger so guess what we are having on our free day tomorrow. . We are also going to eat 2 fried eggs for breakfast but other than those we are not pigging out like we sometimes do.
I really want to make my goal. I have been reading Week 13 and beyond thread. It has some great info as to why it is so important to rest. They even quote you John. It made me feel like a proud mother when I saw it too. Isn't that funny?
Sunday is the big day! The beginning of week 12! As I mentioned before we leave for vacation on Thursday so we will basically have 2 days of the program on vacation. We are going to do post pics and measurements on Wednesday. It will be a few days earlier but we just will not have the resources at the beach house.
I am so nervous and I want to keep doing the right thing. I am really praying for strength and calm.

Thanks for the info on "natural" anti imflamitories John! I guess I meant non pharmecutical, herbal type treatments and thats what you gave me! I will look into those things. I did end up taking more Ibruprofren that night (cuz I had it and my knee was really bothering me) and I woke up completely groggy (it gives me a hangover type effect) but my knee was pain free. I will work more ginger into my diet for sure - I love the smell of it too.
Pixie - gosh am I glad you said what you did. You lost 30 lbs and still not quite down a pants size. ME TOO! I have lost 20 and still in a size 12. But as you said, I beleive I was squeezing into a size 12 as well. You have no idea how glad I am you said that. Not that I want you to be in the same size but I thought something was wrong!
What is the "transformation" you are speaking of - where can I find more info?
Just wanted to share an email I received last night from the website Transformation. Bill Philips has had some sort of accident and has lost the use of his legs. He said he will discuss on Monday what happened.
When I find out more I will let you guys know. Hope everyone has a great day. It looks nice here so I will probably lay out for a while.

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello. Its been a nice weekend here in Atlanta. Wow we only have one more week in this challenge. Who is starting another challenge? I still would like to do BFL even though I am also doing the 18 week Summer Transformation Challenge also. I will do all I can to get to my goals. I love Bill and I love BFL so why not combine the two?? Both programs are awesome and all about the body, mind, and soul.
Patty I got the email about Bill P as well. I am shocked but I know he will persevere and get through this. He is a very strong man with alot of faith and I really believe he practices what he preaches. Let's continue to keep Bill in our prayers.

Well 5 more days and we are done!!! Woo Hoo -- can you tell I'm excited??? I mentioned my mom is coming down (she still lives in NYC) well she asked what I wanted and I said PIZZA!!! I love NY pizza, well actually any pizza but NYC is my favorite. So that is what I am getting the same day I finish my challenge. Her birthday is the 17th, so I will have cake and ice cream ready for her when she gets here too. I think I will take pictures before I take all this in. I hope everyone is still staying strong and having fun doing it. It's not that great when you are not having fun, I know.... I remember those tough weeks.

Patty, first let me say that I am craving pizza so bad! That will be my meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner next saturday.
We are playing with our work outs this week. Since we leave for vacation thursday we have decided to just do cardio today thru thursday and take a jog friday.
Can you believe that about Bill. Poor thing! Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
He is doing a quick 8 week summer challenge. You eat like we have been. For exercise he tells you what your work out each week. The new idea he is trying for the 8 weeks is HIIT 5 days a week for 25 min. Have you seen that? If we didn't have vacation we would do it. It sounds like fun.
I am excited to start transformation july 3rd.

Pixie -- I was hoping to watch the webtv with Bill today but they had technical difficulties. It will be on tomorrow at 2 pm but I did see the summer challenge. It's pretty cool, on there it says you can follow any program BFL, dvds or just running and the gym. The more I looked around that site the more I thought, Pixie and her husband are going to enjoy this Transformation. I have a sign on name which is pattymelts. I'm going to check on you, ok?

I had a very busy day today and I just finished my workout. I really can't believe I'm a third of the way through the last week. Its exciting!
Patty- I'm very excited for you. I grew up in New York so I'm a huge fan of the pizza. You can't get pizza as good as that in Colorado. Everytime I'm in NYC I go nuts on the pizza so I'm definitely jealous. Man I can just imagine the orange grease coming off the pizza :)

John and Beth checked in :) Just wanted to let you guys know that I updated my profile with some new pictures I took this morning. I am not going to use that suit for my finals but since I have been wearing it I decide to take final pictures in it. I also, got on the scale and took measurements. I lost 2" from my bust, waist, hips and thighs but oddly enough I still weigh 132 lbs and my body fat is still reading 21.14%. I just found out that I will be going to a wedding in Chicago next month. So for the next 30 days I'm going to do P90x because I know for sure I will get lean. Then back to BFL to work on muscle strength for the next 30 days and then after that I will do the low weights/high reps- heavy weights/low reps for the next 30 days.
Just checking in... Been busy visiting family all of last week and have my sis in law and her 2 little boys here with us this week. As well as trying to organize, etc with 5 kiddos around, things have been busy!
So, though I am really watching what I am eating (which is going really well) I haven't been able to get to my workouts as much as I have wanted. (Read: I want :perfect and am finding out I will never achieve it....) :) I was able to do some workouts when i was with my family last week, so that made me happy. Especially since I didn't have gym access or anyone to watch the kids during the day, etc. I know it is so nearly not the same, but I have been spending a lot more time during the day in the pool, so I know that I am getting much more of a workout than my usual at home (when I am not working out.). :)
Out of curiosity, does anyone know of any good, legit info speaking out against too much soy and High fructose corn syrup? My sis in law does not believe me that those 2 things are not the best for people to have (she is a nurse)... She refuses to buy her kids potato chips, but she feeds them sugary cereals and pop tarts for breakfast everyday.... Hmmm... But apparently (to her) I am not the best sorce of info regarding nurtrition.... Just wanted to see if there was anything I could pass along to her or not. Thanks in advance!
So I know everyone is "gearing down" and getting ready to be done for now. Wish I was with you on that! I did have to "re-start" -- but like I said awhile back, I am in a MUCh better place for BFL now. I cannot wait until I, too, can say that I am in my week 12!!!
