Q2 Crew, Starting Sunday April 3rd!!! Ready To Rock?!?!?

  • OOPS - I forgot to post that. My name's Rae Anne.

  • My name is Amber!!

  • Wow, what a team we have going here!

Hi other Kim! My day didn't go as planned. As Roosed would say, Murphy showed up.

I woke up with another migraine! This makes about 7 days out of 8. I have to get to the chiropractor or get a massage. I have trouble with my shoulder/neck every now and again. The muscle in there gets very tight or I get a pinched nerve, not sure. It's fine once I get moving, but when I sleeping on it seems to aggravate the situation. Due to that I didn't feel up to a workout this morning. I will fit it in this week and be caught up with everyone else.

We went to my son's soccer game after school. It was 81 here yesterday and today it was 47 with insane wind. I wore 2 long sleeve t shirts, hooded sweatshirt, winter coat, hat, gloves, jeans, with long underwear, and wrapped in a fleece blanket. I stayed pretty warm! DH and DD laughed at my longies, but they got cold! Ha!

This team is going to rock this challenge!!

PS I lost 1.6 lbs. of flab last week!

  • AnneB....are you gonna share the list with us of who is actually on here?...this thread is growing in the leaps and bounds I knew it would with all these amazing folks in one location!

  • I love reading all the posts in the morning, keep it coming!  Very motivating and feeling very connected!

Clean eats yesterday, wahoo!  Again woke up with great energy!  AM cardio was great, plan to do UBWO in pm.  (BTW - I can't tell a lie, it was VERY hard to walk past the sour dough pretzels in the office yesterday, and then resist my fav natural peanut butter before bed, but I did it.  You might ask what I did to resist?  I thought of how I want to look (how I'm GOING to look) in 12 weeks with no cheats, and told myself it's just one decision at a time!)

Shout out to Rae Anne, I read your profile and it made me LOL!  Thanks!

CLEAN EATS, it's 80% of the equation for a rockin body!!!  Have a great day everyone!

  • Then my work here is done. . .;)

  • Hey Everybody!

Several of the good people on our other thread recommended this thread as being a great group.  I'd like to join up and get to know more folks on our journey!  Got my HIIT in this morning on treadmill.  Was awesome running hard again after a week of Active Rest!  I thought I would be tired and have to ease into it, but once I got going I actually upped all my speeds 1/2mph from before the week off!  Ended up with 2.08 miles in 20 minutes, then settled back to 6 mph and slowly increased to 7 to wrap up 5K in exactly 30 minutes.  It felt great, but I'm hoping my ankle agrees with me tomorrow morning!

have a Blessed Day in the Lord!

    Blessings <><

  • Hi All,

It's Mark.  I didn't see my name on the list.  Could you add it.  I had a great finish to Q1 and took the weekend off and did quite a bit of yard work.  The bad news is that I tweeked my upper back and wasn't able to make it to the gym yesterday especially when it was UBWO.  It is feeling better today.  Peeps and I will be going after work today and I'm going to give cardio a try.  Our gym has a great seated bike with a backrest that should allow me to get my cardio in without too much strain on the back.  Wish me luck.

  • Hello to all my fellow Q2 Crew member,

I have to start off by saing that the enthusiasm in this thread is above and beyond anything that I ever could have imagined when joining this group.  I look forward to waking up and reading how everyone is doing their journey towards a better Body and Mind for Life.

I feel as though now is the time to kinda share with the Crew who I am and what I hope to accomplish throught the next 12 weeks.  I am currently stationed in Germany with the United States Army, I have been in the military for approximately 9 years and as you can imagine have been on numerous government mandated vacations to the likes of Africa, Afghanistan (twice) and Iraq.  One would thinkn that being in the miltary, I really don't need to do this challenge BUT nothing could be farther away from the truth.  I will admit although I look like I am in shape, the sad truth is I am not.  I can barely pass the physical fitness test and before my last deployment I was told that my cholesterol level is a little high for someone my age, I am currently 31 years old.  In fact the doctor informed me that the next time I get tested and if the results are the same, they will have to start putting me on medication that I might have to take for the rest of my life.  I know some of that has to do with what I was putting in my body, mainly the amazing German food and beer.  I also know that it has something to with the nasty habit of smoking, which I hope to quit by the end of this challenge.

About 2 weeks ago my wife and a friend of hers' started to work out together, (they are currently doing the P90X workouts) but we eat all of our meals out of the Eating for Life book.  When she started to work out and I seen how energetic and proud she was with each accomplishment after a workout; it got me thinking and wanting to change.  I have made this commitment to this group to finish this thing from start to finish and I want all of you there with me when we cross that finish line.  One thing that I already love about this group is the accountability factor, I love the feeling of being a part of a team, although we are all working out separately, it is like at the end of the day we can turn to this group to truly knowthat we are not alone in this journey.  The things I hope to accomplish at the end of the 12 week journey is the following:

     1. Finish the Challenge

     2. Drop 5- 10% body fat

     3. Gan at least 5 pounds of muscle

     4.  Quit smoking

I took my weight and body fat percentage last night and I will try and do my measurements tonight here are my beginning stats for this challenge:

     1. Weight: 171.4

     2. Boday Fat: 20.1

     3 My height is 5'9

When I enter my measurements online I will also post my before pics.  I hope everyone has a wonderful second day of the challenge.  As for me I am getting ready to get off work so I can have a wonderful Cardio Session.  Just know Crew that I am here for all of you as I know that you will be here for me!!!!!!!!!  GO Q2 Crew

  • AnneB - My start date was 4/3.   Thanks for tracking this for us!

  • I started on 4-4 and will end on June 25th.

  • GOOD MORNING!!

Day 1 was a great day on the eating side!!  My husband does most of our cooking and was a BFL'er back in the Body for Work days and helped with my food when I did my first Challenge in '09 so he was excited to get back to preparing my BFL meals!!  Without him the eating side of the house would be really difficult for me!!

    B: Protein shake,oatmeal w/ blueberries, fish oil & multivitamin

    S1: unsalted peanuts (1/4 cup)

L: Spinach salad w/ cucumber and turkey cubes w/ vinegar&oil

S2: Myoplex Cookies and Cream bar

D: Southwest white chicken chili w/ salsa, avocado, & jalapenos (YUM!!!!)

Day 1 didn't get a great start on the workout side though :( Because I spur of the moment decide to jump into a challenge I hadn't yet gotten my gym membership and so by the time I got home from work, did my measurements and ate dinner there was no longer the necessary staff at the gym to spin up my membership.  I'm gonna try to double up my workout today and do UBWO and cardio.

Last night I reviewed my journals from my first challenge and I can't wait to start feeling the way I was feeling then!!!  And it doesn't take long either!! Physical changes weren't noticed for a while but I IMMEDIATELY noted feeling more energetic, excited, motivated, firmer, straighter posture, better attitude.....Ahhh I can't wait!!!

In my bio I posted my before/after pics from my last challenge in '09 because I crave more than anything the feeling and results I had during that process.  I also posted my starting measurements and due to my darling husband slaving away in the kitchen getting me set up for success (YIPPEE!!) he didn't get a chance to take my before pics so I will do that tonight!!

So this past weekend I read "transformation"..... it was ok I guess, but since then I have started rereading the original BFL and I tell you what there is NO comparing how motivated Bill makes me when I read it!

I hope everyone has a GREAT BFL day!!!!
