@jenp67
welcome!!!
What were your results last challenge??? That is awesome we have someone with experience !!!
Thanks much! I dropped about 25 lbs. Fingers crossed I'll have the same success!!
Oh all you florida girls!! I'm so jealous...I live on the rainy oh so rainy oregon coast...sunshine sounds so lovely!! I changed my meals up a bit than I had planned out yesterday but I am liking what I have planned for today, so here is my new revised plan....I'm sitting here now drinking my coffee, and water, going to be heading out the door in a little bit, waiting for my kids to get picked up by grampa, its spring break here!!!
I get a little overwhelmed by names on boards like these so just bare with me if I don't address everyone by names.....
so todays plan is...
8:00 am cardio outside
8:45 eas shake/apple WATER
11:00 cottage cheese/yogurt/WATER
1:30 chicken veggie soup (recipe from hungry girl it has 150cals a cup with 20 g protein/15 g carbs eating 1 1/2 cups) WATER
3:30 or 4:00 4 boiled egg whites/appleWATER
6:30 6 oz chicken breast marinated in ff italian cooked on the george foreman, 5 oz sweet potatoe, steamed cauliflowerWATER
9:00 cottage cheese/yogurtWATER
bedtime for me is between 12 and 1....hubby works late...so we'll see how I do!!
Ok guys report our food and workouts!! I think this will be really good for us to all see what we are eating, to not only get ideas but to help each other tweek if necessary!! On to a GREAT DAY!!!
AGRIBBONS4- your day looks great!!!
Hi Lyann,
My name is Shelly and I just started yesterday with my lower body workout. OMG!!! It's getting harder to walk as the day goes on and I'm definitely considering slathering Icy Hot all over my butt and thighs! If I just didn't have to subject my patients to the smell I'd have it on me right now.
I'm 5' 7" tall and weigh 154 pounds. I packed on 14 pounds after going through a horrendous marriage and divorce over the past few years. I know it doesn't sound like much, but the weight is robbing me of my self confidence in so many ways. I'm uncomfortable in my clothes and have a fat roll around the middle from several previous abdominal surgeries.
I'm tired of making excuses and ready to begin the challenge...count me in!
Shelly
Great UBWO this morning. Food on track so far.
@Beehivebaby - noticed that you started your cardio @ 0800 and planned to eat at 0845 - remember it's best to wait an hour after the end of your workout for max results, as you are still burning calories at a higher rate.
I did this in '02 and got in the best shape of my life! Went to military training and it ruined me. Terrible workouts and three huge meals a day. I was STARVING in between.
Now, I'm getting ready to retire and refuse to buy civilian clothes in the size I actually am.
SAD.
No time to look back- -only looking forward to the new, healthier me!!
Welcome! jen67, Zips, Shelly, and anyone else I may have forgotten.
Omg! I am so proud of everyone starting off with a great morning!
I got my first meal today. I am doing my workout after my son comes home from school today. I had previously put Cardio down but I am going to start with my UBWO today.
@ mccook & Shelly - I can so relate to feeling uncomfortable in your own clothes. None of my pants are fitting me comfortably any more and I feel like just hiding in my sweats. I am so embarrassed to have allowed myself to get to this point. But I am so proud that I am moving forward and taking action to make a change. I am looking forward to losing 25 to 30 lbs of fat and buy something cute for summer.
@ Beehive - I agree with Mccook. It is best to wait an hour after your workout to have your first meal.
@ Agribbons4 - how do you cook y our cabbage? Is it just boiled?
Wow, I think we have three people from Florida and a few from Oregon. Anyone else in California?
Believe it to Achieve it!
Lyanna
I'm starting today, 3/21/11....good luck. I'm 37 years old and need to lose 25 lbs.

It's been a wicked morning thusfar. My youngest woke up at 4:30. She was a BEAR until she finally nodded off to sleep an hour ago. I'm going to go sneak in my UBWO while she's down. I've had plain greek yogurt (protien is 23 g, carb 9g - LOVE THIS STUFF) twice with a slice of whole wheat once and 1/3 c. oatmeal once. I'm planning on an EAS shake after my UBWO. After that, I'm hitting the salmon with some brussles sprouts and a grapefruit. I'll have four egg whites with an apple and carrots later, and finish off with some cottage cheese and strawberries in the evening.
I'm also going to get my oldest to take my "before" pictures (he's going to be so thrilled, I'm sure) when he arrives home from school. I did manage to weigh this morning. I really hope I can lose 20 pounds this challenge. After a week of spring break and a weekend with a really awesome rehearsal dinner and wedding that we participated in - I was up seven pounds (water is some, I'm sure) and my starting weight is officially 156.5. I'd like to be 136 in 84 days. Here's hoping! I managed to get my measurements taken this morning, too. I'm READY!

hey everyone....cardio was good today!! getting outside to do it is so much easier than trying to stay on a treadmill for that long...actually went for about 45 minutes....luckily I live in a small town with lots of hills..made for a great workout!! husband is doing this with me so he had a great one too!!
thanks for the reminder about waiting an hour!! I totally forgot about that part!! so I had my shake an hour later....:) in about 15 minutes I will have my cottage cheese and yogurt...I can actually feel myself ready for some more food!! yay!! feeling really good.....tittania don't get discouraged just keep on moving thru your day, if you miss a meal don't feel like its ruined your whole day just keep truckin thru!! its only day 1!! its not a perfect journey guys....its a JUST A JOURNEY!!! AND NO BODY IS PERFECT!!! :)
Hello all. This is my second crack at BFL. I completed the 12 wks back in 2005. I felt good, looked good but, over the past years since then, I kinda let myself go. So today is my first day back on the BFL wagon. I have tried BFL since 2005, but never really stuck with it. I guess turning 40 years old made me see that I cannot keep being indecisive. So I made up my mind and I am in it, full throttle. This time around I will be joining the BFL challenge. My wife and I took our measurements yesterday, I almost needed a mental healh specialist afterwards, wow! Needless to say, I got some work to do. This is my first blog/comment on BFL and I am happy to see so many others, wanting to achieve the same goals as my wife and I. I will be posting pics of our progress so stay tuned. Lyanna, if you do not mind, I would like to join your support group. I think it will help a lot to discuss things with like minded people. So my journey began today, all is well so far. The weather is beautiful today in Houston so I will enjoy my cardio. Everyone keep up the good work and believe me when I say this, I have read many entries in this thread and i am inspired and motivated.
The only limitations that you have , are those that you set upon yourself
@Lyanna- I just boil it , i love it !!! No salt , no pepper
@ Beehive- thank you sooo much !
I love this group!!!!!!!
this is awesome hearing everybodys input!!
I missed one meal today because I was stuck at work couldnt even catch a break to go eat but as soon as i was available I ate it all up !!!
@Bizzey - Hey! Another person from TX!! I'm up in the panhandle area.
I just finished my UBWO and I'm getting ready to EAT! I actually have a question - does the "hour wait" apply for weight workouts as well? I'm just having a shake and maybe a piece of fruit. I'm going to wait a while, but I'm HUNGRY. Tomorrow is cardio and I never feel like eating right after running, so I'm good there!
Hey Lyanna
I'm starting the BFL program on the 21st as well. This is my 4th attempt at doing the BFL program. I don't seem to get past the 5th week without sabotaging myself with lack of sleep which makes me "to tired to exercise". Up until recently I have been suffering depression from hormone imbalance and sore back which has now pretty much gone since I got my back fixed by physio and started taking vitamins etc.
I am 38 years old with a 7 year old daughter. This challenge I am aiming to loose 20kgs (sorry not sure what that is in pounds). My goal is to loose the weight so I can fall pregnant and be comfortable with the extra weight associated with being pregnant.
I really like the idea of the chat group to help with motivation.
Today hasn't started off to well as I didn't sleep last night (not sure why) and therefore was to tired to get up at 6am to do my UBWO, but am planning on doing it at 2pm today so I still make sure I do it. Cardio is going to be a challenge as I don't have gym membership or x-trainer at home and hate running (for the time being). I will be walking tomorrow.
Food Plan for me will be:
M1: 1 whole egg, 2 whites scrambled with some shallots in it. Plus 1 Gluten Free toast (my nutritionist told me that wheat products can make women bloated - I found this to be true)
1 dandelion tea with rice milk (instead of coffee)
M2: Myoplex Lite Bar + 2 bottles of water
M3 (lunch): 1 carb control wrap + portion of protein plus salad
M4: Protein Shake + banana
M5 (dinner): portion of protein (ie chicken) + 1 cup of veggies
M6: Protein pudding (Yummy and filling)
I worked out a meal plan for the week and just changed the protein options for the different meals. My goal this week is to find good recipes to cook for the different protein options. I marinate and grill but sometimes pork dries out and gets tough :) and having chicken EVERY meal gets boring so I try change it up. I vary it between:- chicken, turkey, pork and red meat.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome Renne, Teresa, Bizzey and his wife!
Wow, we have a great group here! Everyone is on board and starting out great!
Beehive, I loved your comment to Tittania! Its one day at a time. No one is perfect but it is how we overcome our imperfections that make us stronger. We will all have slip ups but we have to shake it off and move forward.
@Bizzey - You had me laughing! After taking my measurements, weight and body fat% I too wanted a mental health specialist! LOL Glad you and your wife are joining us! What were your results on your first BFL challenge? And don't worry; I too have a lot to lose to be where i will be happy with myself. I know I will have more than one challenge to reach my ultimate goal.
Renne _ don't beat yourself up if you don't get an AM workout. I am by for a morning person! The important thing is, is that you get your workout in no matter what time of day it is. You are not alone. I bought the BFL book at the end of last summer but didn't start until now. One of my excuses for not starting was I didn't want to set myself up for failure, because I know I am not a morning person. I then, peeked back on the forums and saw all the people who changed their bodies and who felt better and flipped through their before and after photos and thought...that could have been me. That's when I said THAT WILL BE ME!
@ Teresa - You can do it! You will lose those 25lbs!
@Sunshine – you made me laugh too this morning about your oldest son taking your photo’s. I can relate. I am having my son take mine. I am too embarrassed to let my anyone else take them. LOL!!! About your question of when to eat after a weight training workout and the same rule applies. You should wait one hour after all workouts. I know it can be tough because when I start working out, afterwards, I too feel hungry.
@Beehive – I think you had a great idea! For those who want to share their meal plans and workouts, is great. It not only keeps me on track by doing so, but others may want a recipe or can give some insight.
@Arigribbons – thanks for the cabbage cue. I love cabbage in Asian dishes and in corn beef and cabbage but wasn’t sure if you cooked it in a different way. I am going to add cabbage into my meals next week. How do you measure a serving?
Ok and maybe this one is TMI so just warning you now! :) OMG! I keep having to use the restroom becasue of all the water I am drinking today. I know it is so good for me! DRINK LOTS OF WATER!
