We are making it, kids!!!
Today is my UBWO. I'm not sleeping enough, I know this. I'm going to work on it going forward. Eating has been on target, even though my cardio was less than stellar yesterday. I so wish I had a treadmill. I have discovered that Greek yogurt is my BFF. I love to eat it with a piece of fruit for my last meal of the evening.
How is everyone else doing? Give us a shoutout!

C1 - 3/21/2011 PUPPY POWER!!!
I started on 3/21 as well and have already lost 5 lbs. My goal is to get the last 20 pounds. I lost 60 pounds working with a trainer but got to the point where I needed something that balanced the kitchen with the workouts. My trainer said that fitness is 70% diet and 30% the gym. I started this journey because of a concern about diabetes. There is a family history. I am almost 65, married and have two grown daughters and a grandson. You can do it!
Today i realised something ... Im not giving it my all ... I keep going back and fourth and im not happy with myself because of this!! Thank god I only relised it a week later and not four weeks. I had a great morning , woke up 8am got ready went to the gym had an intense workout and came home and made oatmeal and egg whites my next meal will be cottage and yog! =]
I need to stay motivated =]
I too am keeping up with everyone on my phone, but sorry for not posting more often.
I've been trying different recipes this week, and one of my favorite is cream spinach! I use a Tbl of greek yogurt, Tbl of light cream cheese, dash of garlic powder, and a dash of onion powder, with a bag of baby spinach. Yummy!!!
Plain Greek yogurt has turned out to be a staple in my frig. I use it with fruit and stevia for a meal and as a substitute for mayo or sour cream in recipes. Super easy!
I went to the Prince concert Monday night, and, oh, my cardio on Tuesday was soooo bad. But, today, I'm back on track. Had a great LBWO! Hopefully, tomorrow's cardio will be a good one. (BTW, Prince was awesome! I've been listening to 80's music on Pandora radio all week.)
Where is everyone ??? Our room has been quiet !!!
hOWWWW is everyone doing out there ...
It is quiet in here!! I hope everyone is doing well!! I'm still plugging along....yesterday's cardio was good, I even ran a little bit which I usually don't but it actually felt pretty good!! today was UBWO.....I'm getting bored with our weights so I'm thinking about ordering that body by jake thing that you hang on your door...anybody heard of it? I thought maybe it would a nice thing to add to our free weights....I also need to get a bench but we are being "creative" without one....food is pretty good, I'm cooking some chicken taco soup concoction tonight for dinner....I can add it into sparksrecipes.com they have a recipe builder and its pretty cool!!
my water intake is a little low this week, need to amp that up, I've got 2 liters down, need to get another liter in at least....I've also been using the EAS protein powder, its got 20 carbs,20 protein, 180 calories....soy protein, anybody know if whey is better than soy?? well I bought vanilla and chocolate and this morning I put a scoop of vanilla with 1/2 cup milk in one of those 24 oz coffee cups, mixed it up then added the rest with coffee and some sugar free vanilla syrup(like the ones in the coffee shops) and wow!!! its was soo yummy it was like a latte!!! I ended up having another one for my 4th meal....if you like coffee give it try!!
alright kiddos, post post post!! I'm missing reading how everyone is doing!!! :0) Laura
Hello! I'm still plugging along on my workouts. Is my body a little firmer, or is that just my imagination! ha ha.... but, seriously. I do feel better, stronger, already.
I went to a favorite chocolate shop to get a gift card and had a sample. Been doing so good until then! After that, I was craving chocolate big-time, but stayed away. Oh well, hope tomorrow the cravings are gone!
Lower body workout tomorrow! Week 2 is almost done!!!! Keep going everyone!!!!!
agribbons- yeah, I'm still here. Sometimes I forget to post, but I am definitely still here.
beehive- Whey is said to be better than soy because it is a "complete protein," meaning it has all of the essential amino acids (the ones your body cant make on its own). Complete proteins can be found in animal products, like meat and eggs. However, there is a bit of a debate right now as to whether soy is a complete vegetable protein. I know that some people tolerate one of the supplements better than the other. I buy protein powder that is a mix of whey and soy. Oh, and your drink sounds delicious!
Teresa- I feel your pain. Once I taste just a bit of chocolate (or peanut butter), I get huge cravings for it. Wouldnt it be nice if we could weed ourselves off of it? I used to get Diet Coke cravings all the time, but I went to a school that had only Pepsi, which I dont like. Eventually (2 years) I stopped getting the cravings. Now I only drink the fountain Diet Coke (maybe 10 times a year?) because the other stuff doesnt taste as good as it used to. If only I could do that with baked goods....
My workouts are pretty good. My biggest issue is the eating...I have a hard time telling myself that I don't need anymore. Its kind of frustrating, but I'm working on it.
Keep up the good work everyone! Janine
Hello everyone. Iam still here (I think...hold on let me check.....yeah it's me lol). Today after cardio, week two will be done! I went against my rule this morning an weighed myself......Day one 179, today 173! So BFL is working so far. As I stated before, I really do not care how much I weigh, I am more interested in my body fat % and how a feel and look. I did this the last time we did BFL, dropped most of the weight in the first 4 weeks, then came to a dead halt until around week 10 before I started losing again. I had been exercising prior to starting C2 so I attribute the weight lose to changing my eating habits. I am buying a bike for cardio since it has been in the 80's in Houston with very little rain. I was hoping to take a before picture to show the difference after 84 days, but I will have to post a picture from a couple of years ago, which I pretty much looked like before starting C2, execpt I might have weighed a few pounds less then, and of course my after pics will be posted.
Everyone stay motivated and focused, we got a lot of work to do
The only limitations that you have , are those that you set upon yourself
where is everyone?? I hope everyone is doing ok!! My free day was yesterday, I'm just playing it by ear.. I'll go crazy if I want and not so crazy if I dont!! I didnt drink much water yesterday, got my fill of diet pepsi....its the one day a week that I'm allowing myself that treat!! I am noticing that I'm not having any problems getting right back on track the next day!! which is great for me!!
today was LBWO...my legs still feel like jello..tried a few new excercises...felt great!!! my cardio has been getting better and better and I really feel so good on those days!! I'm almost thinking that maybe later down the road I might start doing cardio everyday...but we'll see...I dont have lots of extra time during the day.
alright gang, I'm off to get grocerys for the week...I hope we get some more posts...I'm missing my phone ring at me with new posts! Laura
I feel like everyone quit!!! =[
we need more posts !!!! im worried!!!
I know!! I'm feeling that way too!! do you think we should start a new group?..maybe one that doesnt matter what day we started?? maybe it was to restricted? I was really enjoying reading how everyone was doing!! I'd love to see some meal plans for everybody since we are going on to our week 3!!! anyone getting bored with there food? alright well I guess i'll keep waiting for new posts!!
agribbon how are you doing??? is everything going ok?
Hey gang! I'm still around, still prodding through!! Week 3 starts TODAY!!! Last week was fine, no real issues until Saturday when I started to run my sprints (I've dedicated Saturday's HIIT to 10-12 sprints) and my quads said "Um. No." I pushed through and got them done, but it was HARD.
Today is my UBWO.
I'd share my menu, but it's boring!! I don't mind boring food, really. When I try to "fake" something or make it to interesting I find myself craving things I shouldn't have. I eat a lot of Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, and eggs. I find my variety in bell peppers and zuccini! I do typically have an EAS AdvantEDGE or a Myoplex Lite every day.
Ok. Time to kill it!
I'm still here!!
Life is busy. Workouts are going well. Just registered for the irongirl 1/2 Marathon on Sunday - I might die, so if you don't hear from me after that, tell my husband to spend the indurance money wisely.
Not as much on the weight loss front last week, but clothes fit much better and I'm feeling soooo much better as well/
I'm with you Julia, my menu is boring, same same same - but I don't care as long as the job gets done.
I can't cook, so the simpler everything is the better. For example, I bake my chicken breasts with just some salt and pepper. Same with my fish, same with my veggies. I know boring, but edible.
Bought some new running shoes yesterday. don't get me wrong, I'm NOT a big fan of running. I do it now because I must, and when I retire, because it's the most effective means of losing weight. I would like to complete a marathon in my lifetime, so I figured I'd start with 1/2 marathon. When I told my husband he said "Are you sure they are gonna have people working that late?" - @$$. But I laughed literally out loud.
Hope everyone else is doing well!! GET SOME!!
Hey everyone. I am still here. And since my father did not raise quitters, I am in it for the long haul. I had a great weekend, free day was saturday, I actually went bike riding with the wife, we road to Discovery Green Park in downtown Houston, where they were having free concerts all weekend as part of the NCAA Final Four activities, but we never got to go inside because big dummy me had a back pack full of gear and stuff (I ought to have known better), so we rode to this cool upscale latino place to grab a bite. As you see, I finally bought a bycycle and I even road it to the gym yesterday. It's raining here today in Houston so my cario will be indoors.
@ agribbons4 - look at this way, when we all got on here, we decided to do this together, correct. Okay, so you cannot quit because I cannot quit, therefore, WE are going to make it too day 84, by any means necessary!
@ McCook - I am so envious that you get to run and my old a$$ knee's wont allow me to run past 2 miles. Good luck! Well you dont need luck, you got BFL in your corner, that is all you need.
@ Janie and Beehivebaby - Well I have nothing to say but hello. Well, I got a stupid joke for you.....don't hold this against me: A pony walks into a bar and ask for a drink, the bartender yells "speak up I cannot hear you and if you dont speak up louder I am going to ask you to leave". The Pony replies, I'm sorry to upset you, but as you can tell I am a little hoarse!...........................Wait for it............................. uh nevermind Have a great week 3 everyone!
