Hi all..
So far so good after 8 weeks. I'm wondering if their is a maintenance program after 12 weeks or if I can just continue doing the same 6 day workout and adherence to the meal plans?
Thanks... Ken
Hi BigKAD!
The BFL team recently accepted the idea of opening up another section to the forum called After Body For Life or something like that.
Stay tune!

Hi, My understanding is you want to continue to set new goals to continue to keep your metabolism performing at it's best. When you find you have "grown" all you want than you establish a maintence plan. I'm sure that would be continuing to watch your cabs, proteins, healthy fats and workouts to keep you body lean and strong. I understand their are Myoplex formulas to assist at that time. More details are seen on the Body For Life Library. From some of our Challengers I here thay just continue the next challenge as part of their maintenance routine. You' ll do great as long as you plan for your success!
Hi Ken, congrats on making it this far! I'm right there with you, just starting Week 8 myself. :)
From what I can gather you can do one of four things:
1. Take a couple of weeks off with active rest and then start another Challenge! Set new goals and see how your body transforms in another 12 weeks.
2. Use the Challenge as a plan for life. The objective is to make these habits lifelong so I say if working out 6 days a week and eating right works for you, then keep it up.
3. This kinda goes with #2. Set new fitness goals. Maybe some that wouldn't have necessarily fit into the Challenge because of time or shifting focus. I am planning to hike Longs Peak in August and run a half-marathon in Utah in October. So my new plan will include a different approach to fitness (LOTS of running and hiking) but just as much physical activity and balanced eating (with some summertime margaritas worked in for fun!).
4. Fall completely off the wagon and forget about the Challenge. Obviously this is NOT the ideal scenario but I do know people who said "Okay, I did it, back to sitting around with the cheese doodles!" A lot of these people end up doing another Challenge, albeit years later.
Find out what works for you and your lifestyle. Keep us posted and good luck! Only 4 weeks left!
BigKad, I am close to the end as well week 10 for me. From everything I have read active rest is very important. Rest from the HIITs and from the intense weight training, but that doesn't mean rest from activity. Take the time to do activities and sports you like. Eat clean as you can, you just don't have to be in calorie deficit. Your body and muscles require the rest especially if you are going to do a second challenge, that way you can come back hard and hit it strong.
