Opti and Dev-it's hard keeping up with everyone huh? hahah! I just hope everyone STAYS and finishes with us!
I'm doing my cardio at noon. I hate waiting but I needed to today. Can't wait to get it done! Hope you all have a great day!
ps My arms are killing me today! I really pushed myself yesterday! I ate all 6 meals yesterday and drank 100oz. of H2O!
DO YOUR BEST TODAY!
good morning all!
this is day 14 for me, today is my cardio day. i'm doing the elliptical machine today, in hopes i won't further injure my leg- i feel i may have pulled/torn a muscle in my left quad...feels okay right now.
i really enjoy seeing all of your posts, the many varieties of workouts, etc... last week i was snowed in, it was my lbwo day- so i got creative with what i have here at home, and i was super sore for days, lol! i am going to repeat that same workout periodically.
my eating has also been extremely better than before bfl, i feel so much better. i feel like i'm beginning to live again, enjoying each day, and waking up with excitement- seeing what's on the forums, planning my foods, writing out my goals for each day, cooking, reading, exercising- i could go on and on:) anyway, this all good. looking back, i can't believe the amount of junk i was eating, driving through the drive thru.....addicted and miserable.
Jjooddyy- I can totally relate to the "addicted and miserable". I appreciate when people are real about their habits. It's a reminder to me, in someone's words besides my own, that I'm not the only one.
Successful day 1!!!! Feel great :)
I have a question....????? So I really like the boot camp classes at our gym. Love them! They are intense and my heart is racing the whole time. Does anyone substitute classes for the 20 minute cardio? I really don't want to give them up, but at the same time I don't want to stray from the program. Any thoughts or experience on this one?
Have a great day everyone!
I guess I should add that the boot camp classes are 1 hour..
timetochange - I can relate. I love my Monday Pilates class and didn't have time/strength after to complete my ubwo last night. I haven't decided if I'm going to add the missed ubwo to my cardio tonight. I probably will b/c once I get going, I have a hard time stopping.
I have a question too, for anyone who can answer. Does the water we add to coffee, protein shakes, etc. count as part of our daily water intake?
@ timetochange- i called bfl to ask about the extra workouts as well. if we are entering the official challenge/contest, then we need to do it by the book. i know, i love jogging, and playing tennis, spin class etc... but, for this first 12 weeks, i'm trying to do what they say- there is a science to it:) it's going to be hard for me to stay off the tennis courts. i'd love it if someone with more knowledge would tell us it's okay to go do the extra activities:)
i just got home from doing the elliptical machine for 20, oh my gosh!!! it was a great workout, had to close my eyes to keep focused, especially in the 8-9-10 zone. i use to be the girl on the machines for an hour or more- i love this new way!!!
timetochange-love my fast food!!!! And, yes, it makes you feel miserable.
I'm straying from the program somewhat in that my weight workouts are arms, then back and chest, then legs and butt. Intervals for arms, back, chest, but i have muscular legs already, so i'm doing 3 sets of 15 at moderate weight for that.
I do 20 minutes of HIIT cardio, followed by another 20 or 30 minutes of easy cardio.
I'm also not eating any carbs with less than 5 grams of fiber per serving. No rice or pasta.
Starting into the middle of day 2 now and I feel crazy good. I even went for a walk with some co-workers because I'm feeling great.
I could get used to this.
okay, @ timetochange, again- i just spoke with a bfl rep, he said you can do your boot camp class, but that an hour is pretty long for a really high intensity workout. it is okay to use periodically, but not something to rely on for your ''high intensity cardio'', maybe just substitute it occasionally. he also said that bfl does not wish to keep people from doing what they enjoy doing, so woohoo- i can still play tennis! i think when i called in before, i asked if doing an hour on the treadmill, and lifting weights more often was legal- so many questions in my head, especially at first.
good job to you mattm:)
Ahhh finally got my lazy a** up and went to the gym.
Not too long ago I was hitting a HP of 7 on the treadmill, today is was 5.4.
Lots of catching up to do
EdwardR - No. Water added to anything does not count. Only plain water does.
Love you some you...PERSEVERE!
Hey everyone! I did my cardio this morning---went out for a ride on my bike even though it's still pretty cold. Had a good time doing it too! =) The only thing that will take some practic is hitting the right heart rate at the right intervals. I suspect it wil take a while to get that down pat. But it was a great workout!
I did great with the diet until my husband wanted to go out. He suggested that Tuesday be my free day since we are both off and can have family days. So...I guess Sunday I will not work out but eat on plan. Does that make sense?
How's everyone else doing? Anyone else have sore upper bodys like me?? Feels good, huh? =D
Nicole 96 - That makes sense. Also copy the food list from the book or print it from this website. Shrink it if want to but use it for whenever you go out. This helps you make the right choices. You can always work the portion sizes when you get your plate. Ask for a container from the start so you aren't tempted to over eat. Eat the rest the next day for a meal. :-)
Nicole96,
My arms are killing me too. Have never really been much of a weight lifter. Used to do low weights and a lot of reps. I have been doing well with the program. The biggest problem for me is packing all of my meals to go. I'm gone 12hrs. a day
Question: Next time I do upper body work out should I do the same exercises for each muscle group as I did on the first day? How often should you change the exercises??? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks
