Hey Francine! I've spent most of my life in the gym too but for the past two years I've been a major slacker. Have you ever tried BFL? I did it several years ago and dropped 4 dress sizes in 10 weeks. Amazing! I was very strict with my diet and exercise and it worked! I need some support as well to be successful.

Really need a chat buddy.. Please add as a friend.. completed the challenge over 7 years ago and am deseparately seeking that level of discpline and results again...
You are in! Great to have another friend. Wow you completed the challenge 7 years ago, who did you do?
I'll be starting on January 3rd as well. I've done Body-for-Life in the past and I can assure anyone that's skeptical that it does indeed work. It works, that is, if you are willing to put in the WORK. It is not easy by any means. It requires discipline, planning, and dedication. It can be done, but you must be all IN or you will be OUT before you know it. If you are not all IN and have set your mind to achieving a healthier, much more fit body you may as well not start - because it is not likely you will finish. That desire and thirst to achieve your goals must be present and will be what carries you through to the end.
Are YOU ready? I definitely AM.
I am planning on starting the first Monday in January 2011 as well. Godspeed to you and your journey.
Blessings <><

I'm starting Jan 3rd as well! I followed the BFL philosophy years ago, didn't do the actual challenge and still had pretty good results. I had 2 babies in 3 yrs and am ready to get rid of the baby weight!
What are some of you doing already to prepare for this adventure?
I'm getting back in the gym, scaling out the equipment, printed out a bunch of BFL info and made a binder for my desk at work so I can plan my workouts and meals, track progress, etc. I bought a few groceries to start the clean eating. Finished my last bottle of wine last night! Ahhh!
Here we go!

I am trying to prepare myself on waking up early which I am not doing good with so far..I have to wake up at 5 in order to work out, get dressed and be to work by 7..I am NOT a morning person but really wish I was..I have the hardest time getting out of bed, I am a snooze smasher!! Does anyone have any tips on how I can overcome this??This is one thing I am hoping to overcome as well w/the challenge as I have wanted to be a morning person for as long as I can remember..The hard part of getting out of bed for me is it is sooooo comfortable and my body is soooo relaxed and it feels soooo cozy...I know it is all in my head but how do I break out of this?? I want to wake up and work out first thing so I can get it over with otherwise I am afraid I will make some excuse after work or something might come up where I won't be able to work out..Any tips any of you can give me would be sooo appreciated!!
Thanks :-)
Skycandy~I could have written your post. I get so down on myself about being such a night owl. I am ALWAYS late to work and don't have to be there till 8am. I have 3 kids to get ready, plus myself, plus get them all to school and daycare. There is NO WAY I could wake up early to work out. I can barely make it as it is? What time to you go to sleep? I have to do tons of prep work the night before to streamline my mornings as much as possible. Planning ahead is something I'm really trying to work on.
Planning ahead is very important! If you know your schedule is going to be crazier in the morning then try to plan your workouts in the afternoon. Just tell yourself, "I can sleep in on my cheat day!" and get up and get to the gym! After a week or two it gets much easier! Especially once you start noticing your body changing! I used to not be a morning person but after I saw the changes I was waking up before the alarm went off.
Count me in as well. I was planning for that date too.
I usually go to bed around 11 but even if I went to bed at 8 I still wouldn't want to roll my butt out of bed!!
I wait until the last minute and then have to rush. Funny thing is is I only have myself to get ready as my son is 14 so I couldn't imagine if i had 3 little ones..But I guess if I did have 3 little ones I would have no choice but to wake up earlier and would just do it..I think I just had an epiphany..If it was something that was really important to me, like my kids, then I would just do it and not even think twice, because there is no choice in that instance..it just has to be done..Maybe that is how I should be thinking in the morning..or maybe that is the problem, I am thinking too much..I should just roll out of bed when the alarm goes off instead of hitting snooze because that is what needs to be done! Right?
I'm In!!! This will be my 2nd challenge. I am ready and willing to take the extra step. :)
