Let's not wait until 2011...let's start our challenge on Dec 27th.

  • I am new to the forum and not quite sure how to do this on the computer every day, so here goes! haha  So excited to start today, and with everyones messages coming thru on my blackberry really helped me stay focused. My workout was great, except my gyms dumbbells start with 15, so I think I better go get some 5 and 10 pounders. I could hardly lift the 15s. Sooo out of shape. I have been reading and trying bfl for a long time, but have never finished the 12 weeks. But this time I believe will be different. My son who has been working out at home with just some small weights and doing spot training, said he would join me!!! Then after I came home from my workout, my husband said he would start also!! He has had some health problems and really needs to, but I think when he saw I was serious, he decided to join me!! I am so excited!! For sure I will have to be accoutable now! haha My daughter also works out with a trainer, has been for awhile and is totally hooked, and has become an expert on clean eating. I went shopping for clean foods, went to 2 stores and will still have to go to another tomorrow, not all of them sell healthy foods. So I kinda went off my eating schedule, but its a process, right? Well, thanks to everyone! untill tomorrow!! :) Stay Strong

  • It is indeed a process...for me it was a learning curve in the beginning of C1 and then a fight to tweak the plan and then finally a surrender to the simplicity of it.  There are always adversities to overcome, but you must stay mindful all the time.

And I would like to propose to this group a NO RESTARTS policy.  Several people have mentioned on here that they have done BFL, but not completed a challenge.  I challenge you all to NO RESTARTS.  However imperfect it is from day to day...you push forward.  That is one of the biggest lessons I have learned...KEEP GOING!

    A new year, a new you...NO RESTARTS...we finish on March 20th TOGETHER!!

My FOURTH Challenge: May 23-Aug. 14, 2011.  Began First BFL Challenge on June 21, 2010

  • Starting today also.....

  • I'm in! I am starting Challenge 1 today. I was wondering ,does anyone know, if you start the challenge now and end in March 2011 can you enter the 2011 challenge? Thanks!

  • OK, here is my challenge for the day:  I've been battling a bad cough for about two weeks now.  Everytime I think it's improving, I wake up all congested and coughing and feeling that I'm starting all over again.  Bronchitis I am told.  (My two teens brought it home from the high school, and of course despite my best efforts, I caught their virus.)  It is a bit better, but definitely still with me.

So, I am DYING to get on the treadmill now, up early before work, but fear what it will do to my lungs/cough....... Have done some weight training the past two days -- just stick to that, and otherwise stay true to the Plan?  Uggh.

Cold, snowy weather here in NE, doesn't help!!  Have a great BFL day!

    Pam

  • One other thing, CT038:  to answer your question, I actually called BFL with that issue, and was told that if we start anytime now and finish in 2011 then yes, we are eligible for 2011 Challenge.

    Pam

  • Its so awesome to see more eager BFL'ers. Great post Jen4Life - you got this girl.

For kicks a giggles, start writing names down - lets keep a tally of those who are serious to change for the better. Who is ready to eat clean and work out dirty.

    BOOM BABY!

  • AHHHHHH!!!!! Feel that burn in my legs!  Had a great session on the Arc Trainer this morning and my legs are still screaming (combo of that and yesterdays LBWO).  Can't wait to bang out a solid UBWO tomorrow!

The eating is still going very well, avoiding temptation!  Money is tight so I have been unable to get going with the shakes, but man do I miss them from when I was working out a couple of years ago :(.  Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Jen4Life:  I agree with you, No Restarts!  I have been guilty of this many times before, but not this time.  I'm feeling too good already to think about it (after only 1+ weeks serious, a couple weeks experimenting).

Pamela:  I have had the same thing for a couple of weeks.  I push through it, but then again, I have always been a glutton for punishment.  Got some odd looks at the gym this morning on the Arc Trainer when I was hacking and wheezing :). The sauna sure helped afterwards thought!   The way I was looking at it, if I can hit a 10 like this, imagine what my 10 will be like when this thing finally clears up.

Well, of to work, I'll be checking in to see how everybody else is doing.  Keep it up!

  • Yesterday didn't start so good for me in the food department, but I made up for it in the gym!  Feeling the strain in my right hip though.  I decided that the only way to get over this darn sore hip is just to work through it!  "Resting" it for the entire summer and fall obviously hasn't helped, so I'm just going to start with the ibuprofen and power through it!  UBWO tonight!

Had a accident at my work place and had been out of work sense Sept, 2009 and still not back to work yet and ganged a lot of weight. So this is where I'm at now I will get some pictures in soon..... Good Luck everyone on this Challenge.

  • Wow I love this website and this thread.. So inspiring. Yes I must admit Jen I was a restart I have tried this program quite a few times but this time will be different. I have battled alot of demons this year with great success and this is the last one. So here goes. Day 1 went wonderfully and I am off to the gym right now.

  • Man, it seems like everytime I check, we got more people signing up.  Awesome!  Gotta try to get a pic of myself to post.  May just be a bad Cellphone one.  I'll see what I can do.  Need to hold myself accountable and have something to base my results on!

Well, they are up :( Not exactly what I wanted to see or show, but, it is just the beginning.  Think this was a real big step for me.  Never really truly saw how out of shape I am/was.  And to think, at one point I was still 20lbs heavier.  That is the kick in the pants that I needed to drive me harder!

  • Well despite staying up till 2:30 last night catching up with some friends- I pulled myself out of bed for my first HIIT for C2.   Excited to get back into the groove.  My biggest challenge is drinking the water and I have definately gotten out of that habit.  I can notice a huge difference in my skin when I drink a ton, so let the chugging begin.

BDMom- that buffalo chicken stuff sounds good.  What does your food prep look like for the week? How do you prep your chicken?

  • Good job everyone!  I had a great day yesterday with both eating and my workout.

Jen:  I have been the restart queen, so I am on board with the "no restart policy"!!!  At some point excuses have to put aside and our health has to come first...and there are so many benefits that will come with it.  Day one down!

    Fill up that water!!

  • I did a great job with exercise yesterday, made it to the gym before work and pushed it hard.  Unfortunately I gave into a cookie in the afternoon.  Nothing but old habits and lack of energy to blame for that one.  I'm not kicking myself so hard today though because I know I've got 83 days more to do it RIGHT and that's very empowering.
