Hi, just wanted to say I am starting BFL on Dec 12th, (know it's a Sunday but Sat is going to be my 'free day'...
Have been suffering a lot of depression for about a year and I came across Bill Phillips' book and picked up a copy. I have read it cover to cover and am already feeling better about my future... like 'I can do this!!!'
I used to be in good shape, I am 6ft 2 and used to weigh 190 lbs but have since gone up to around 235 lbs. I also have no strength or drive, and I know this is adding to my depression. I feel if I can get my body in shape my mind will follow. I have just gotta reach into myself and find that inner strength for the next 12 weeks!!
I am prepared and determined but I am guessing I'm gonna have to hang about these forums and get inspiration and advice from time to time, so just thought I'd say hi!
The Searcher,
Welcome to BFL!!!!
You are so right, when you train the body the mind will follow. You will be amazed what eating right and working out will do for depression. It will banish it forever! Visit the forums often. There are so many great people here and lots of support, encouragement and ideas. I am glad you have Bill Phillip's book! It changes lives! follow it to the letter and you will be transformed inside and out!
Thanks Orrin, I have been reading it for the last 3 weeks. I wanted to wait and be prepared to start properly, and as you say 'follow it to the letter'. I got my Gym membership booked, my fridge stocked, my journal prepared and I also have my EAS Myoplex diet sachets and bars all standing by. The reason I am starting December 12th is because my 33rd birthday is... you guessed it, EXACTLY 12 WEEKS FROM THEN. What a birthday present? I am going to do this no matter what.
Thanks for the support man!
It sounds like you are ready! Best of Luck to you! Keep posting here... you will find a lot of support!
Thanks, I get good vibes already from the comments and the support people show each other on this forum.
Looking forward to getting going.
Hey searcher. I started the BFL challange a few months back and only lasted two weeks. The weird thing is that in those two weeks I actually saw a difference and I felt better. My work uniform, I'm a correctional officer, fit better and I had more energy. For some reason I quit though and I hate that I quit. I am almost the same size as you. I am 6'0" and weigh 270 pounds. I will do this challenge with you but I think I will need you to keep me motivated. Ill post pictures and set a schedule to talk on the forum so I wont be sidetracked. Good luck to you and I hope we both do well.
The Searcher...
Way to be prepared! So many people are so gung-ho and go into something like this without any prep at all. Sounds like you have everything up and ready for Sunday!.
My first challenge (began last Dec. 21st) ended on my birthday as well. I saw it as a sign to give me something PRICELESS for a birthday present.
It was THE best gift EVER!!
Best wishes to your success!! =)
DebMO :0) Blessed to be a Blessing...
Searcher: Welcome to the BFL Family. We are glad to have you here. Best of luck to you on your challenge, and please come here often and check in with us!!
"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"
Hi Searcher:
Welcome! Just imagine, in 84 days, you can have a lean hard body, energy from sunset to sundown, and the power to become the person you’ve always wanted to be. Good luck!!
Hey there, thanks for the comments. Just because it didn't work out for you first time around doesn't mean a big deal. The true winners in life are those that get knocked down and get back up again. It took me 11 times to quit smoking. Most of the Millionaire businessmen were bankrupt at some point in their lives. Keep in touch and we'll compare notes on how we do. The best of luck to you!
