In classes today, but wanted to check in & thank you all for your kind words & support. I am so thankful for all of you. This is just a hurdle & I'll clear it!!!! Everyone have an Awesome day!!! Hugs'
"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"
BDMom: I haven't been on the BFL site all day. I am so, so sorry to hear how much this is affecting you. You are a true Warrior and I know you will get through this. You have kept this Warrior thread going, and now we are all here to love and support you!!!
I am reading a book called "The Resolution for Women" which has helped me tremendously with lots of things that have been going on in my life. It is a Christian book based on the movie "Courageous". I wanted to share something that I read this morning. The author quoted, "The entirety of your life is made up of two percentages. Ten percent is what happens to you. NInety percent is how you react to what happens."
I have faith that you will react positively to this situation and push through it. I am praying for you!!!!
Happy Friday Warriors!
LBWO is done...possibly one of my top 10 workouts of all time! It was just one of those workouts where everything came together. I was so pumped up after my last heavy set of squats that I was gruntin' and hollerin' in my garage. Wendy said she thought I had hurt myself LOL!
TKD has really helped with my flexibility in the past 2 weeks and I could tell it today. I'm moving in ways I never have before and it is good.
I've been trying to help my brother out for a few months now with his diet/exercise. So far he has lost about 40-50lbs! Early on he was literally starving himself (typical want to lose it fast mindset). I started showing him how to figure his calorie needs etc. He has crashed a few times etc etc...because of eating too little. Well, he finally listened to me and upped his calories to a healthy range...and BAM he started losing weight again within a couple days. I was pretty proud of him.
Another good thing is that Wendy is still doing great with her challenge even though she hasn't been able to workout much at all...she is still down about 10lbs and feeling great. She has lost almost all she wants to lose, but she has done an awesome job.
Alright Warriors - get your head in the game today! Make it count!!!
Good morning Warriors!!
It is an overcast rainy day here this morning. It's still hot out, but the lack of sunshine is nice!!! I will be heading to the gym soon, and then I have a dermatologist appt (hopefully my last). Then I grade papers for Delaney's teacher on Friday afternoons, then take Britt to ortho after school. Another busy day, but I'm ready to take it on. I am feeling better and getting over my pity party. I was watching Gabrielle Giffords on the news this morning, and I realize how fortunate I truly am. This woman was totally healthy and loved working out, and then due to some **fill in the blank here*** shooting her and several other innocent victims, she is no longer able to enjoy those things. This is a minor setback for me, and even if it is pain that I have to live with for the rest of my life, it could be worse!!! Food is clean and ready for the day!!
Jams: What the heck?
Parson: Woo-hoo.....ouch, I hurt my foot jumping up and down for you. Great job on nailing that workout!!! That totally feels good! WTG! So glad you are enjoying TKD; how are the kids liking it? That is Awesome about your brother; he has the BEST example to look up to. I am sure you totally motivate him!! That's great. I am glad Wendy met her goal weight and has been able to keep it off, especially without being able to workout as much. I'm happy for her.
runnermom: Thank you so much!!! I love that and I totally agree with it. Life, in general, is so unpredictable and we have to find the best way to manage these situations. I'll never take credit for keeping this thread going; I love being part of a group of people who share the same love for fitness and nutrition. I miss so many of our other warriors, but we have managed to keep this thread going longer than any other than the coffee crew. Are you staying busy at work? Are the kids still loving school?
You are all the greatest!!!
Have a fantabulous weekend!!!
Natalie
Hey Gang,
Well still in a rut but feeling alot better today. Heel is still sore but will be taking Mocha for a walk when I get home. The sink hole thing actually turned out to be a storm pipeline issue that the city knew about since 2010 and chose to ignore. Now they have to spl. order a pipe so that part of the highway is closed off. There is only 2 other ways to get out of or into the area. So fun times ahead for the next supposedly 10 days. That remains to be seen. So I have been leaving early to get home and it still take anywhere from 45 - 60 mins. Takes about the same to get in too. I'm anxious for KB tomorrow haven't done much in the gym lately. I will start on Tues. going early am. the only way to get those wo's in. Been on a salted peanut binge all week just about finished the bag and won't be buying anymore for a while.
BD,
How are things today are you feeling better or still bummed. Now might be a good time to cooked those ab's and season them too. lol.
Parson,
You are an animal with those wo's. Great job I will be picking up my pace thanks to you and the others here. It's all out now since I'm all or nothing kind of guy.
Runner,
You are awsome as always. Don't stop reading lol. I'm still trying to get through that eat clean book. Hopefully soon. Any suggestions to get Chris to eat more. I think he thinks if he eats more he will get fat. I've talked to him about that plus he has Selective Mutism so he shuts down on me from time to time always a battle to know what he likes in the food department. I just keep plugging away. Teenagers urrggghhhh!
Miss,Cuervo Island and the rest of you sorry if I missed you this go round.
Keep it going all.
Have a great weekend
Claude.
Hi Warriors!
Quick post from my phone while sitting at Cody's football practice. I have been WAY busy between work, home, and kids activities!!!!!
I had a great workout this morning. I have one more week of this set of exercises on the Rachel Cosgrove program then she changes them up for another 4 weeks. So far so good!!!!
Food has been totally clean this week. My mind is finally in the right place!
I am thinking about all you Warriors!!!! I have a great story to share about my neighbor who has breast cancer and just finished radiation. Too long to type on my phone, but in a nutshell she called me last night and asked if I would help her start a workout program. She had me in tears. Warriors, we are all so blessed to be able to live this lifestyle! Keep up the awesome work!!!! I will share a longer version of the story soon.
Have a great weekend!!!!!
Hey all,
Sorry I have been very MIA, but life has been all over the place lately. But I did post before and after pics. Hope everyone is doing well and going strong. I plan to start another cycle of weight lifting in October, though the clean eating is here to stay and the walking. I just need to sort things out and get family stuff under control. So I will be back and actively posting back in Oct. Love you all!
Your today shapes your tomorrow!
HELLO WARRIORS!!!!
I hope you are all doing good. I am 2 weeks out from finishing my 12 weeks but am only 4 weeks into my current routine. I will continue on and keep fighting. I feel good about my progress but still have a long way to go. Jan is planning her next routine and may start the Kris Gethin routine I am now doing. If she does, watch out!!! It is the best routine I have found.
I am proud of each and whey one of you and thank you all for the support and friendship. Have a great week gang. Let's kill it this week. I have just a bit more to lose to hit my 30 pound goal. Then it is on!!! I will give myself the best Christmas present ever. No slowing now. Warriors for life!!!
Hi Gang:
Checking in now because I am not sure I'll have much time tomorrow. Actually this week is going to be crazy. I have to interview someone tomorrow over the phone from an eating disorder clinic. I then have two papers due Thursday, and a biology test on Thursday. Monday night is our last obedience class for our puppy, Tuesday night Britt has guitar classes, Wednesday evening Lane has cheer camp, and then Thursday night Britt has voice lessons. Guess I will be up late studying this week!!
I have two weeks of this challenge (I'm right there with you Cuervo), and then not sure what I'll do next. I need to sit down and figure out a plan going forward. I know the food will stay clean, but need to figure out if I want to do something different on the workout front. I have plugged my meals into MFP for the week. I am eating out on Wednesday with my sister, but have planned around it. The girls and I had a fun day; we went to the mall, and then came home and hula hooped and jump roped inside, since it was so hot outside. I actualy didn't jump rope due to my foot, but we still had fun messing around. My husband was tailgating and at the AZ Cardinals game.
Cuervo: Let's do this. Let's finish strong. I am not even going to take a free day the last two weeks; I'm gonna keep it clean all the way through. Let me know if Jan decides to do the KG routine; I may check into it. Is there a lot of plyo? You are going to hit that 30# goal; don't let anything get in your way!!
afleece: I posted on your other thread. Please keep up with your clean eating and get whatever workouts in that you can. It is so easy to undo what you've done. It is far easier to gain it then to lose it. Keep your health a priority and remember how important you are. We look forward to having you back posting more regularly! We are here to support your efforts.
runnermom: Make the last week of these workouts count, since you will be moving on next week. I am sure you were very flattered by your neighbor asking for your guidance; that is wonderful. Best wishes to her for a full recovery and a total cure!!
Claude: Get out of your rut!!!! I am. No more for us. Let's get out there and make it happen. No more excuses. We can work around this! That's scary about the pipeline. That driver probably has a legit case if the city/town/municipality knew about it and did nothing!! Stay away from those peanuts; the sodium isn't good for you. I have been working my abs 3-4 times per week, which I will continue to do for the next two weeks (& beyond)!!
I will try to check in tomorrow.
Have a fantastic week, Warriors!!
It was a busy weekend! Both boys had football games on Saturday (they both won....yea!!!!) and then Mike and I went and watched the LSU game at a LSU alumni gathering here in Charlotte. It was so fun and I loved being around people from back home. Geaux Tigers! Yesterday was church and then Mickey had a football camp in the afternoon. This is a busy week too....football practices, another open house for Mickey's class, and work always keeps me busy!
BD and Cuervo: I know both of you will KILL IT these last 2 weeks! You are both so dedicated!!!
Afleece: Try to check in from time to time for accountability. And definitely keep the food clean and portions under control.
Claude: Does your son seriously have Selective Mutism, or do you mean just being a typical teen? Just wondering b/c I am a Speech Pathologist and have worked with children with selective mutism. Hope you get through the Eat Clean book...it is a great resource!
Parson, Island, Miss, WP....hope you are all well!
I got up and did a HIIT run on the treadmill (I haven't done that in a while....my new program calls for NO TM, but I just needed to run this morning b/c I felt like I ate a little too much over the weekend!) Then, I did my Rachel Cosgrove workout. This is my last week of these particular workouts and will start a new workout plan next week to complete over the next 4 weeks. This morning was great...I felt good with lots of energy!
Nutrition is packed and clean. I cooked some veggies last night to last me a few days....sauteed eggplant...yum!
Have a great day Warriors!!!!
Hi Warriors,
I'm out of my rut finally. Went to KB Class on Sat. that was the first weight wo I have done in a while. My whole body is still sore, good sore. This class is making me realize how important nutrition and sleep is. I'm barely able to get about halfway through these wo's. This weeks session if I would have completed was 40 squats, 20 ea. leg lunges, 105 pushups, 20 Turkish Get Ups, pushups to squat position don't have a better name but seems to be the new flavor now. All the instucters / Trainers are using it. Did an ab wo yesterday after taking Mocha and Tia Tia for a 4 mile walk . That's why my heel is sore but kids had homework. After work today will be going to do some cardio Chris has training tonight then dinner, take Julie to school she has a class from 7 - 9 pm tonight so will hang out at that end of town until she is done. That end is my old stomping grounds pretty sure I can find something to do out there.lol. Home to bed and early wo tomorrow.
Will try and check back latter .
You are all my insperation and thanks for that.
Claude
Hey Warriors,
I'm outta my rut and back. 2hrs. sleep last night and 4:10 am in the gym full body wo done. My food is a little off so far. I have started juicing in the morning with my new Cadillac of juicers that was reduced due to missing a part. Paid 98 bucks for a 400 dollar machine so good find. It's an OMEGA VRT 350. feeling great now that my wo is done for the day. WOOOHOOOOOOOO! Weighed this morning and I'm down from Sat. but up from 2 weeks ago. No more peanuts.
Yes he seriously has selective mutism, and we had to bring him when he was younger to a speech patholigist. He had problems pronouncing I think the letter T & F. When he started school his french pronociation was and still is perfect. Go figure. Keep pushing through like always.
Gotta run later all.
Good Morning Warriors!
Just got the kids dropped off to carpool, and now I have to get some homework done before I leave in an hour, but wanted to check in quickly. All is good; workouts and food! My foot doesn't seem to be any better. The cortisone did nothing. I think I may even have had a reaction to it; my heel has been itching uncontrollably for 3 days. It is so uncomfortable and annoying!
Claude: so glad you found your way out of that rut; it happens to us all from time to time. Glad you were able to rock that workout this morning. Why so little sleep? That is important too! Yes, stay away from those peanuts. Great find on the juicer!!
runnermom: congrats to both of your boys for winning their games. That's great! Glad you and Mike were able to get out for a date night; sounds like you had a great time! Finish this fourth week strong. Then on to four weeks of a new routine, right? I bet you do miss runnnig. How do you feel your body is responding?
I think Cuervo may have talked me into trying the Kris Gherlin (sp?) workout, after I finish this challenge. I plan to take at least a week off, and then probably start that one. The food is very regimented, and I probably won't be able to follow that part too closely, since I eat on the road at least 3 days per week, but my food is usually pretty clean anyhow. I don't even know that I'd call it a challenge. It is a 12-week program, so I would do it for that length of time. If I started a week after I finish this challenge, it would bring me right up to Christmas. We do baking and stuff in December, so I know there will be weekends when the food isn't 100%, but will figure it out as I go! I like the layout of the workouts. Those I would have to switch around a bit as well, since the days off he has won't correlate to the days off I have.
Anyhow......lots to do today. Have a great day Warriors!!
Hey BD,
Hope your foot stops itching soon that would drive me crazy. All that pain and no gain that sucks. ( cortizone shot). I'll be taking the girls for their walk tonight after work unless Linda decides differently which is entirely possible. Women you know. LOLOLOL. I have been taping up my foot somewhat religiously. Still hurts. So isn't working as I wish it would. Hanging in there my head is back in the game finally. I have taken on the extra task of making sure Chris eats Breakfast which includes juicing now not sure how he likes it. Linda's MRI has finally been booked for Sept. 24 a Mon. morning 7 am. she is not to thrilled about the time.
Island,Cuevo, Parson great work thinking of you guys especially this am wo. Picked up my pace to get it in less of a break inbetween sets only when needed. DL ARE AT 35 # NOT THAT MUCH BUT GOOD FOR A BEGINNER. Will up it on thurs.maybe 40#.
AFLEECE,
Congrats on joining the 5%. You are now a true Warrior. I haven't seen the pic's yet. Keep in touch not enough GIRLY WARRIORS. LOL.
Gotta go eat now later.
Enjoy the week warriors.
Quick post for accountability.
I had a great workout this morning....HIIT run outdoors then KB boot camp in my driveway! It was fun! I didn't do my Rachel Cosgrove today....long story. I've been in a little funk the past few days, and just needed to do something different. Workouts have been good, but for the past few days I have struggled with nutrition in the evenings. I WILL push through this b/c I am a WARRIOR!!! Back on track today with nutrition....NO EXCUSES!
No time for personals....off to Mickey's open house this evening. I am thinking of all you Warriors and hope everyone is doing well. You are my inspiration :) :)
Have a great day!!!
