Concerns from a Female Endmorph

  • Me again. I'm in my second week of working out, and 1st week of the Nutrition, and I am concerned about what I'm doing and seeing.

    First things first, My body:

As i've mentioned before I have the body type that puts fat and muscle on extremely easily. I have been trying to follow the BFL diet for this week, eating carbs as I am supposed to, but, i feel heavier ... really fatter. I know I am putting on muscle from my work outs, but, I feel I should be burning a reasonable amount of fat, so that my muscle is replacing fat, not pushing fat out further. This is a challenge for me, because I am a large woman, who has worked time and time again to lose weight, to little avail. I can't seem to push past this size I am right now.

    Second, the workouts:

In the second week of my workouts, I don't feel I am working hard enough. Let me explain, When at the gym, I am giving it my best shot, it certainly feels like my best shot by the way i am struggling with weights, and sweating bullets. But, when I am done, by the time i  reach my home, I feel like I should be still working out ... like the 20 min aerobics (actually 25 by the time I cool down) or Upper Body workout isn't doing the trick. (With th lower body workouts, I feel I've worked harder, but, still feel like something is missing) Before i started BFL, I would work out 30 - 45 min on treadmill while doing weights as well, so 1 - 1.5 hour at the gym M-F was no big deal. My body 'feels' like it's looking for more.

Can anyone relate to either of these scenarios?

  • I have read many places on this forum that women often do not see big changes until later in the twelve-week process. I do understand your feelings about the gym, as I used to also spend a lot of time there, but as you say, it hasn't helped you push past the size you are now.

You've just started, I urge you to follow the program and give it time to do its work.

    Best wishes.

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • raharper1,

Congrats on making it to week two!!! You are on your way to a new and better you!!! BFL works! It has worked for 10s of thousands of others who come in all shapes and sizes and places in life and it will work for you too. You need to stringently stick to the plan for all 12 weeks and give it everything you have. If you do this you absolutely will see results!

I am going to say something and I in no way mean to offend or be negative at all.

By thinking of yourself as an "Endomorph" you place that thought in your deep in your mind. You are working hard and eating right but in your mind you keep thinking "I am an endomorph." What you are is a beatiful woman and and incredible person who has the power and strength within her to totally transform her life!!! I mean this with all my heart. I would encourage you instead of thinking 'I am an endomorph I store fat easily' tell yourself 'I am a beatiful woman who is a fat burning machine! I am lean and strong and healthly and I am going to rock this Challenge!!!'

    You can do this!!!!

  • THanks Guys! I'll keep going, and try to not be so hard on myself! I'm not officially a contender yet, because I am using this time to learn the program and get stronger, which i am doing. Thanks again!
