Had a great HIIT last night. Looking foward to LBW tonight. Slow progress on the scales, but I am keeping the faith. Looking foward to the 4 week weigh in. By then there will be some movement.
Another 11 days to our 1st 4 week check point people. Time to put out a big push to the first gate!
Had a pretty good LBWO last night. But I have the hardest time with squats. Can't seem to get lower than about a half squat. I always feel like I am cheating and not getting enough out of the exercise. But no matter how much I want to, can't get myself down to perpendicualr on my legs. Anyone else have this problem?
Okay fellow BFL'ers, I have reached day 47 and have put some progress photo's up on my profile.
Eeeek!!!!!
;-)
Definitely making noticable progress! Keep it up.
Go Cares!! Have you been taking measurements too??
So, you know how they say that writing down a goal and sharing it is the best way to achieve it??? Well, it's Sunday night about 8pm and I hadn't done cardio yet... I just want to go hang out and veg... we've been at soccer games, playing tennis etc... all weekend. I DIDN'T WANT TO DO IT...
Well, I thought about the fact that I had POSTED right here that my biggest goal was to "not miss any workouts" and trust the program. I got my lazy butt up and got on the elipt. Yes, I will have to take the 3rd shower of the day... but I will NOT have to try to sleep knowing I'd let myself down! And that feels really good... and sweaty too! woohoo!
Kahoona, I've been having slow movement too, but dang... my biceps are hard!
HEY GUYS, I'M BACK!!!
my computer has been messed up. internet explorer wouldn't open and this site is blocked at work. turns out all i needed to do was reset internet explorer...so easy!
so, this challenge has been much more difficult for me than the last! eating clean feels wonderful but i have such a hard time finding the time to work out! now my work schedule is changing. this week will be trial and error but i'm planning it out.
my hida scan came back 9% functional. i'm going to try and put the surgery off. i've only had 2 severe attacks since starting this program. the last one was last night and kept me up until 4 am.
kahoona, i have trouble w/ the squats too. i had knee surgery in nov 08, so i cant go all the way down. i still feel sore. even though i'm kind of cheating, i know i'm still working those muscles. i push it as far as i can and expect it to get easier each time. thats the best i can do...i dont want another injury to set me back.
i'm so happy you all have kept this forum going!! ready for this week!
Hmmm...today's 20 minute cardio session seemed way to easy! I normally hate Monday cardio after having my Sunday off as I find it hard after a break, I haven't had a day off for three weeks though so maybe that helped but I felt like I REALLY needed yesterday off so took it, still did heaps of physical work around the farm though.
Just got home after being out with a bunch of friends to a chocolate fondue night...Woo Hoo and I didn't eat a thing! I ate my 7pm meal before I went, had a protein drink at 10pm and didn't even drool over the chocolate strawberries ;-)
This weekend wasn't good -- went out drinking Sat night and paid for it Sunday. Missed my HIIT and put on a pound or two this am. I am sure it will come right back off - probably mostly water. Planning a big push this week so that I am not dissapointed at our first "check point". Seems like I fluctuate a lot every day on the scale, but in general it seems to be moving the right way....
Looking forward to my UBWO tonight.
Woo Hoo....Tomorrow is Day 1 of Week 8 :-)
Played dubs this morning.. not much of a workout, but being lazy about my cardio. I will get it done properly... for goodness sakes, it only takes 20 minutes... it's the getting started that is hard.
did the cardio...woohoo! Just do it guys.... Next Monday is the weigh/measure day!
Cardio tonight... As of this morning, down 0.4 lbs from the start. Been eating 1600 calries / day - about 1000 calrie deficit. I wonder if I am gaining muscle to offset? Been very strict on the calorie counting, 6 meals / day, and not missing a work out. Keeping the failth, but being tested. Maybe I'll see some progress by Monday but I feel like I am falling behind my goals.
WEIGH MEASURE day TODAY! So, some of us agreed to measure today.. Today is the end of 4 weeks and the beginning of the 5th week.
Weight: -5lbs
Neck: -.5
Biceps: R-.5, L-.5
Forearms: Same
Chest/Bust: -1.25
Ribs: -.5
Waist: -2.25
Belly Button: -2
Pooch (2" below belly button): -1.75
Thighs: R-.75, L-.75
Calves: Same
If you add it all up it's just over 10"... of course that's a lot of measurements! I'm very happy overall... it seems so disappointing to work so hard for four long weeks and only be down 5lbs, but I know I've gained probably close to 5lbs of muscle. I'm too fixated on the scale. Still can't really see a difference yet... feel stronger, but still a long, long way to go...
Oh well, onward and upward!
Have a great day!
5 lbs is on track. Great job Looney.
OK here is my official measurement...
Weight = + 1 lb. Don't know about the other measurements. Clearly not the result I am looking for. But, I am not giving up. I may have to make some changes though. Only eating 1600 - 1900 calories / day. My biggest meal comes at dinner which I don't eat until after I get home from my workout (usually around 9:00). A little late for a meal - so that may be part of the issue.
Going to try eating "dinner" on my way to the gym and limit the post workout meal to a protien shake. Maybe I'll find something from Subway and eat that for dinner. Might also help my energy in the wokout if I eat first. We'll try this for the next four weeks an see what happens.
