DebbieMO's "Step it Up for Spring" Group

  • I'm still here.  Everything is going great.  I can't believe we are coming towards the end.  I'm am definitely starting BFL #2 January 2011.  Even though I have made lots of progress, I am not where I want to be at with my body fat and muscle tone.  So watch out challenge number 2, Bikini weather here I come!

    Velvet

  • Very nice to see more posts. Velvet, I will be starting a second challenge in January as well.

Back on the treadmill this morning - hit 8.2 mph for level 10 with distance of just over 2.3 miles. Even though the elliptical reports that I burn more calories, I feel like I work harder and am more tired when I do cardio workouts on the treadmill.

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • Hey Sara,

Theres a group starting Dec 26th.  I might start then.  Do you think that is too soon?  Are do you want to go for it?  Otherwise I plan on going Jan 3rd.  What ya think?  More the merrier.

    Velvet

  • Velvet, I plan to take a week of active rest and start again January 3. In fact I am thinking about a 12-week challenge, 1-week active rest rotation through 2011. There is time for exactly four challenges in the year done that way. I may be tweaking the workouts a bit though, doing cardio MWF and one UBWO and one LBWO each week. I have really been running myself ragged and we are so busy on the weekends. If that doesn't work out I can always switch back.

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • One more week . . .

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • Hope everyone is enjoying the day. UBWO tomorrow and cardio Friday and Challenge One is done!

I was confident enough to wear my running tights in public today. Woo hoo! And I learned something new about the treadmill. Down at the bottom there are 2mph, 4mph and 6mph buttons. AND the touchscreen has a mechanism for entering a particular speed. All this time I had been hitting the down button like forty times to drop the speed at the end of my workout. Which by the was was 8.6 mph for level 10!

However my left hip hurts and my left hamstring has been cramping a lot the past couple of days. It might be the elliptical on Friday. We'll see.

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • Sara-Way to go on the 8.6! You're a speed demon!!

Can't believe you all are almost finished!! So excited for all of you who have stuck with it...I think there are about 10 of you so that's about 5%!! Yay you!!

I want to get people together for a picture maybe after the first of the year when things have settled down a bit!!

So So proud of you all!!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

DebMO :0)           Blessed to be a Blessing...

  • If ten of us finish up out of the original 50+ it is 20% or thereabouts - we are way above average!

Thanks again for sponsoring the challenge, Debbie. I was needing a kick in my complacent behind.

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • Sara,

I'm basing the number (5%) on the ones who actually told me they were going to do the challenge...Some showed up for that meeting and were negative from the get go so they really didn't get included.

I'm focusing my energies on those have the drive and mind to succeed, like YOU! You have done fabulous!! Proud of you!!

I want to send out another fast direct note next week and maybe have a brief meeting with my successful group members and those that are interested in starting a challenge on Jan. 3rd. Was thinking of doing the meeting Sunday afternoon the 2nd since most people will be back from everywhere for school the next day.

I have vball practice til about 3 so was thinking 4ish...your thoughts?

Have a great Christmas and enjoy that last workout!! Cheers for you!!

DebMO :0)           Blessed to be a Blessing...

  • I'd go ahead and schedule the meeting and serious people will be there. I am definitely looking forward to a low-key week off with my family but I am also looking forward to starting back up and getting rid of the lingering fat on my hips and thighs. I knew that would be the hardest.

I just counted forward on my calendar - starting a challenge January 3 puts the end date March 26-27. Just in time for spring!

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • Sara-Okay so plan on Sunday, Jan. 2nd at 4:00 if you can make it. Will Hanna still be around? Couldn't remember the timetable on that.

The thing that we want to go the most is always the last to go...for me it was my gut and butt! lol! Stay with it...it gets even better!!

How about we call this next one the "Step It Up for Spring" Challenge... =)

DebMO :0)           Blessed to be a Blessing...

  • I like it. Hanna will be in Omaha for a wedding that day, but I will certainly try to be there.

Want it. Plan it. Do it.

  • CONGRATS, Ladies!! Challenge #1 is COMPLETE!!

Way to GO!! So proud of all of you who hung in there and became part of the 5% club! I know many of them didn't post on here so I will get ahold of them through the school website.

"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"

  • Hi everyone,

I'm with you Sara, those trouble spots are still there.  I made a lot of progress over the past 90 days, but I am little disappointed.  At the beginning of the challenge I thought my results would be more dramatic.  I guess I thought I would look like Tosco Reno at the the end of the challenge and I am far from that.  I don't want to beat my self up because I am proud of my self.  So the way I look at it is bring  it on challenge number 2.

Deb "step it up for spring" sounds great!  And I will be there Jan 2nd.  I am looking foreward to seeing what my results will be with Challenge number 2.

I am proud of everyone in our group.  Thanks for the support Sara and Deb.  I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
