travelgirl2010 and Highbeams...I'm no expert but do know that if you use to light a weight and are doing high repetitions you are going after fat loss...and if you reach your goal of 10reps and stop then you have not reached your High Point....Bill say's in his book BFL that----a true high point on the BFL workout , a true level 10 experience, is one where you can honestly tell yourself you gave it every single last ounce of energy you had----that you tapped into your inner strength. What you'll discover is a true high point comes from your mind , not your muscles. You need to answer this question; could you have done one more rep if I was standing right there , encouraging you to reach even higher----to push yourself further? If your answer is "no way!" then congratulations! you scored a 10! However if your answer is something along the lines of "maybe I could have done another one," then you're looking at a 9. Remember to celebrate the progress you made , and plan to try harder next time....This is why I feel it is important to increase your weight to what you can handle for that 6,220.127.116.11,12, but try for 7,9,10,11,13,13 and next week you will find yourself increasing the weight another lb....Don't worry you want become "Muscle Bound" like Arnold...but you will see a increase in strength...I don't know if this helps, but understanding the principles behind BFL is important...John
Also remember...... that Superman's "Super moments" are his High Points. the rest------of his life as Clark Kent----is pretty forgetable......John
Travelgirl&Highbeams: for the six... yea I would say as long as you are hitting your ten that is what matters. I'm usually fighting for the last set of 12! Getting to the ten and pushing it is ripping your muscle to build it new. That's why you need to get to exhaustion.

I rocked the cables... so much that when i got up this morning my arms were hard to move. It's a good thing next arm day isn't until Monday. This morning I finally hit 2 miles on the treadmill during the 20 min HIIT. Whoop!!! My goal is to be able to cram 2.5 miles in that 20 training by week 12.
OH... My happy point today... My husband looked at me this morning on my way out the door for work and said I was "looking good" That made me feel nice :)

Thanks Superman for that excerpt, I completely agree with you. I had also read somewhere that if you are struggling to make the 6 and are making the face, then you are doing it right and hitting a 10.
I am proud to say that I killed it at the gym last night and this morning. Every part of my body hurts, and it feels so good! that sounds sick in some ways but really its the inside feeling that feels so good knowing I pushed it as hard as I could.
Travelgirl, Highbeams and the rest of the crew - as long as you give it all you've got, hold your head high, shoulders back and be proud of what you've accomplished!

Sounds Great!!!! I'm going to mix up a batch right now....I'll let you know how they turn out...I'm not a great cook, but being from the old day's my mom taught all of us kids how to cook, sew, laundry, and even do house work...Yea! I know, don't let your kids read this they will hate me...I learned a lot from my older brother about Cajun cooking. (he was Mr. French Cuisine) for 6 years in a row at the Gonzales Cajun cook off....You should have had some of his Jambalaya...um! um! good..any way enough of rambling I will close for now and I hope everyone has a great day....John
I will weigh in on Sunday as usual and see where I am...I don't like using the scales, but some times I feel that I need to....just to see if they still work...I bought the kind that give you water and fat percentages and keeps a log up to 5 times (by Taylor), but that does not work with all the metal I have in me now...It blew me away when I saw 55% fat and 72% water and then I called my cousin who has a business called La. Scales and he told me what was going on and that should have called him first and bought the scale form him...He said the only accurate scale is like the doctors use, you know the one with the weights on the slide bar...that is if they keep them checked every month like they are supposed to...so I'm getting one form him that he has refurbished and at about the same price I spent on the bathroom scales...Oh! well that's the "heart breaks of Psoriasis.." Maybe my friend Mary will want the one I have now.....Enough rambling...Later, John

YES!! I am weighing in on Saturday after cardio. I don't really think it matters when you weigh in, as long as you are consistant on the time of day at each weigh in. I weigh in at the gym on the doctor scale they have there.
Honestly - even if I've lost nothing on the scale, my clothes are fitting a little looser than before. Nothing drastic, but I notice it. :) I feel pretty amazing too.

Bay, I also appreciate your reply and that is exactly right. I had to alternate my arms on some of those last sets of 12's because by then my muscles were toast!! WAY TO GO on the 2 miles, oh man I'm only up to around 1.5!! Cardio was never my favorite though and I can I just say I love the 20 minute HIIT aspect of BFL.
I hit some major 10's in my UBWO this morning you guys! Next week I'll be changing my lifting pattern, so I expect to be majorly sore like you guys this time next week.
Keep it up, all that hard work in the gym is going to pay off.

Hi everyone! :-) I'm really excited to report that I've lost 11lbs as of this morning. Woohoo!! I knew that I'd lost a little weight because of how my clothes were fitting, but I was thinking it was more like 5lbs!
Now don't freak out ... I've got more to lose than you other girls, I'm sure. My start weight was 196lbs. and as of today, I'm at 185lbs. Ugh, I never thought I'd post those #'s for the world to see.
But there it is in all it's glory! :-)
I hope everyone else has has a great weigh-in day today. Don't be discouraged if you don't see a big loss right away. The less you have to lose the slower the weightloss will be. Just hang in there, amazing things are happening inside of you and the fat loss will come.

Well, I am happy to report that the scale wasn't terrible, I am down 3 lbs, which I will take any day. Since I didn't do my measurements from the get go, it will be great to see what the next 4 weeks brings.
I think I might start weighing/measuring every 2 weeks now, we'll see. I just don't want to miss a milestone to record for my personal journal. I also don't want to be disappointed so we'll see.
I downloaded the weight loss meal plan from former champion Emily Alvers website www.emilyalvers.com , I think I will do this with a few adjustments to the foods I am allergic to for the next four weeks.
We are making progress! Good luck Bay tomorrow with the weigh in and jeans. We're rooting for you!!!

I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised tommorrow too ~ Your hubby is noticing the changes taking place already and that is just an incredible feeling! Your goal jeans will be your everyday jeans before long because they'll be begging you to wear them everytime you step in the closet.
