Any others start their transformation today, August 30th?

  • Hi Amber, I just started the BFL for the first time yesterday.  I have always been pretty athletic but can never seem to get the weight off around the midsection.  I have a question for you, do you stick to the 20 minutes of cardio like they recommend in the book or do you add more?  I am use to doing a good 45 minutes or so or mixing up my weight training with burst of cardio (aka boot camps).  Obviously I should stick to the book.  I just feel I have not done enough.

  • Good Morning Everyone.. Day 2 and feeling good. My head ache is gone. hopefully wont come back. should have stopped caffine before I started. But last nights workout felt great. Alittle  differicult with the keep track of what I was doing and what set I was on. This morning I ran in my neighborhood - forgot how much I enjoy running. I live in Lakeland, FL. Anyone here wants to workout together, I am sooo game. Hope everyone has a great day. Sharon :)

  • Good Morning Everyone and happy Day 2. I am from Christiansburg, VA and looking forward to the support that this group can give each other.  Keeping a log of everything and logging the food prior to the next day is a little challenging but I think will help keep me on track for the long haul.. Have a great day everyone and remember WE CAN DO IT!! Mellissa

  • Good morning Team!!!  :)

I love that we are all here to motivate each other!  I live in NYC - so if anyone is close and wants to hike/walk, etc....let me know!

    So far so good today!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Hi Dan - just saw your post today.  I started yesterday also.  Only able to fit 3 means and one small snack in.  Got 8 out of 12 glasses of water.  Did my upper body, but need some heavier weights.  Only reached a 9 at the max with biceps.

    One day at a time.......Yup

  • Hi Jeanne -

I found it hard to fit in 6 small means also.  I did have a Myoplex ch chp crisp bar for one of my meals.  Good luck to you.

I am from Allentown,PA. I fing that by eating every 4 hours or so I get my meals in at 6am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm 5pm, 7pm.  Try not to skip a meal. Skipping meals can put your body into a starvation mode.

  • Hey all, had a ok day yesterday. I didn't get my workout in. Had minor migrane and still have the hangover from that today. I did ok eating but nowhere near the 6 meals. I had to force myself to eat. Anyway onward and upword OR Downword ( for weight).

I did this 11 years ago and made it 8 weeks. lost 22lbs so it is possible to reach whatever goals each of has. My long term goal is 35lbs which will put me at 190. I haven't been under 200 in 15 years. Short term goal, get thru each day, plan and simple.

I am from Sherwood OR which 17 miles from Downtown Portland.

    Good luck to all

  • Hello guys!  I am starting tomorrow and feeling very positive and hopeful.  I think with the low carbing, you need to eat frequently to keep steadier blood sugar levels.  In the past when eating similar to BFL, I found that as feeding time approached, I got very irritable and spacey.  You need to eat every 3-4 hrs and drink plenty of fluid.  With the lower carbs you lose a lot of water.

Speaking of hydration... I keep reading others posts about having to stop drinking coffee.  Is coffee completely out?  I don't remember reading anything specifically about coffee in BFL.

    Thanks and good luck!

  • As far as I know there is nothing specific to coffee but staying true it should be in moderation. If some of you are like me, a couple cups turns in to half a pot over a day quickly. The key is getting enough water and those coffee headaches will be gone in no time!

I have tried to do the challenge before and never made it past week 7. The need for caffine goes away pretty quickly just hang in there.

  • I figured my coffee would be out due to I usually drink 3-4 cups and we wont discuss how much sugar and cream I put in it. Can't drink it black without the sugar. I switched to green hot tea and it seems to be working for me.

  • I am getting ready to do the cardio work out. I am soooo thankfull I don't have to do any lifting with my arms!!

I am from Titusville Florida, would love to do the cardio outside but still to hot!!

  • I am from Shorewood (southwest of Chicago).

Maggie, I'm a December bride too!  24yrs this December. Watched my wedding video for the first time with my teenage kids. THATS why I am doing the challenge!

  • Good evening everyone.

So today I did pretty good got up and did my 20 min of cardio, I even talked my mom and dad into starting BFL with me so we can keep each other accountable and so we can all look good at my wedding. One day at a time and the lbs will soon me melting away.  Although I have to admit I didnt do that good with my nutrition plan since I spent most of the day out of the house shopping for wedding stuff (cant use it as an excuse just have to do better tomorrow).  Hope everyone else had a good day and are still keeping strong.

  • Good evening y'all!

Day two down... took the awful 'before' pictures and boy was that motivation!

I've also started the couch to 5k plan today. im tired but feel wonderful.

-Myyonna- I hear ya about hot.. I live in Dallas Texas and it topped 102 today. Whew, talk about hot

Hope everyone had a fabulous day...

Keep up the good work.. Lower Body tomorrow!
