Starting BFL tomorrow Aug. 2nd

  • Hi all

Surprisingly I was also exhausted by day 9 & 10 . Could be lacking vitamins  ? to top it off i am a  vegetarian ... on the other hand maybe my body is getting use to not having a rush of bad sugars from time to time I hope my body starts to learn to use my reserve (being my fat  hehhehehe ).

With the regards to the odd craving n actually satisfying them. ! well I think its moderation is key

So if u having to odd brownie or so , how about a cutting a small piece n give the rest away or take a bite as opposed to 3 ! the way I feel is that at some point whenl all this is done . We all will have to contols those sweet tooths n take aways . what better way to start learning CONTROL as we progress towards healthier life styles . any ideas or opinoins around this .

The main thing DO NOT FEEL GUILTY ABOUT THE FOODS YOU EAT >>> REMEMBER AT THAT PARTICULAR MOMMENT WE MADE A CHOICE N YES WE PROBABLY ENJOYED IT ... SO WORK A TADE BIT SMARTER AT THE GYM TAKE THE STAIRS UP OR DOWN AS OPPOSED TO A LIFT .... ITS THESE LIITLE CONTIBUTORS THAT MAKES A DIIFF ....

WOULD LOVE TO HEAR IMPUTS AROUND THIS . (N.B STATEMENST REFERRING TO ONCE OFF BINGES SO LETS REMAIN STRONG AS PER BFL PROGRAMME WE ALL ON)

    LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR REPLYS

  • Just finishing second week and finally getting used to the eating part.  I have stayed consistent and it is getting easier.  I love the workouts though.  Looking forward to checking into the forums more frequently  for encouragement.

  • Southafricia – great ideas on controlling the urge to splurge. I find the myoplex protein bars are a great way to curb my cravings for sweets. You can eat the whole thing and not feel guilty 

Another good tip I have heard is to do some stretching whilst watching tv or lounging around. I find it helpful for me as I like watching tv and my flexibility is not very good  but will soon change that 

LD Power – Congrats on completing your second week. I look forward when I can say “it is getting easier and loving the workouts”  Keep up the great work

I have managed to bring a friend on board the BFL Challenge and so I have decided we will both start Day 1 tomorrow 

I had a free day today and my eating was pretty good considering

Have taken my before photos  haha! And had my weigh in also 

Not a pretty sight but I know it will all change in the next 12 weeks  and my body transformation will be incredible like the rest of you who are on here 

Wishing ALL a fantastic BFL day and that it will be another day closer to achieving our healthy lifestyle goals 

My nutrition was fantastic today just need to sit down and decide what I can do regarding exercise

Hope everyone is going well with there BFL Challenge

  • tiredofbeingsickandtired hang in there . !

Stay focussed on your nutrition and with the doc permission your upper body work out .

You will bounce back stronger and more determined ! I am sooooo certain of that .

Now i feel silly . even tho i had my work out ! my eating yesterday wasnt so great .

I dont know whats come over me .... Im almost like negative towards myself  n all I achieved in past two weeks !    even tho I know better !

thoughts of what if   I fail in this to . Still so scared to get onto the scale ....

Help ! all I wana do cry !

  • southafrica - If you wanna cry then cry. Let it all out. Your frustrations and negativity you are experiencing right now. Do whatever it takes to get it all out then jump back on the wagon.

Read stories of past champions and you will find nearly all of them had a little hiccup along the way but they just picked themselves up, dusted themselves off and got straight back on the wagon again :)

You can do it! and you have alot of supporters who will support you all the way :)

And I would just like to say thanks for the vote of confidence, I really appreciate it  :)

I am still very determined to stay with the program and I know this is only a test for me

I have read of other people who have done this challenge before and were in a far worse situation than I am so I know I can still achieve what I originally set out to do

I still supported and encouraged my training partner in her workout today and even managed to do an abdominal workout to failure as well so very happy that I done something and not put my injury at risk

My nutrition suffered a little today as I had to fast for 12 hours so I could get some blood tests done at the lab. I managed to fit in 4 nutritional meals so still very pleased with my progress thus far

Hope everyone is going well with there BFL Challenge

  • I'm struggling right now. It's day 19 for me. I haven't missed a workout & I feel better, but the scale isn't moving.

School is about to start up Monday, so that will help me get back into a routine, but this week hasn't been so good. I've been working so much in my classroom that I haven't eaten as often as I need to.

We had a district-wide breakfast on Thursday along with a lunch provided by our chamber of commerce. I tried to eat as good as I could.

I had hoped to be down 5 or 6 lbs by the end of week 3, but it's not going to happen. I've barely lost 2 lbs altogether.

I'm not giving up, but I am disappointed.

I have a friend that is trying to lose weight. She hasn't worked out all summer & hasn't eaten healthy at all. So she cuts our sodas, starts to exercise & loses 7 lbs. I haven't had a soda in 2 months, have exercised off & on all summer, try to watch my portions and hardly anything at all.

This time of year is crazy b/c of all the back to school & birthday parties that have all happened as soon as I started BFL. I try to eat small portions & stay away from sweets, it's hard.

Now to get through the weekend.

  • I'm on day 19 myself. Overall, my strength is increasing significantly. I have only missed one workout since starting. Some days the scale looks better than others, but overall I can see the progress in the mirror, how I feel and how my clothes fit. I'm 5'8" and 165 lbs but I have 25% bodyfat. My weight is coming off slowly. I think I've lost about a pound per week which isn't bad and I can see my muscles growing. I'm looking forward to my 4-week photos to see if I can see the difference.

Some days I get discouraged, especially when I'm exhausted from these killer workouts. I'm curious, for those that aren't getting the results with respect to weight loss, are you doing the cardio first thing in the AM on an empty stomach with just having a glass of water? That's the recommended approach in the BFL book. Also, are you eating 6 meals every day? My metabolism is on fire. Every 2 hours I get very hungry now. That is very new to me as I used to eat 2-3 meals a day and could go a long time between meals.

I find the Myoplex Original Meal Replacement shakes very helpful for meals (1-2/day). They're quick and easy. I even brought a mini-blender to work. I'm going to look for the other supplement mentioned in the book (HMB--beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate) as well, plus a new creatine supplement to add to the shakes.

Good luck to all! I'm here for any support you may need. Keep it up. Have you called the BFL help line too? 800-297-9776 Dept 11.

  • Good Luck I am new to the site and just got the book reading it from chapter to chapter , looking forward to start this Monday. Might sound weird but where do I click and start a new post? lol

  • Welcome queenzjade. To post first you have to go to the main page/topic. Them I think its on the top right. I had a hard time finding it myself!

  • Tralan, do you mind if I ask how much you have to lose? Sometimes its harder to lose weight if you don't have much to lose

  • I wanted to let everyone know that the success journal you can buy is well worth the money. You can get used copies on Amazon fort next to nothing too. I think I paid $6 including shipping!

  • Thank you Jj91709

Yeah that button is hiding somewhere lol I am still looking.

I was looking into that journal to buy on amazon I think is a great thing to have.
