Hello All!
I'm starting my second challenge tomorrow, I'm excited! My husband and I did our first challenge together in 2008, we had great results. About 6 months after completing the challenge we decided to complete our family with baby #4. She is here, almost 9 months old and the time is NOW to get back to where I was...
First time around I went from 24% body fat to 17%, dropped from a size 10 pant to 4 and lost 9 lbs.
I'm goal is to do even better this time.
Tonight I'm finishing my goals and dreams page, pictures will be taking in the morning before my first w/o.
WE can do this, I'll support and encourage you. Hope to learn my way around these boards, they're not a familiar layout/style.
Have a great night, see all of you tomorrow.

I'm thrilled to discover so many people are starting this program tomorrow. Thanks for posting this Russell and for inviting others to be part of a support team.
My name is Anita, I'm 41 and this is my first BFL challenge (which my husband is doing with me). I only want to drop about 8 to 10 pounds but I want to convert a whole lot more of my weight to muscle. I also hope to gain more energy and simply want to take control of my life. I figure if I can do this I can pretty much creating anything for myself. I like that idea a lot!
So how do we make this forum really work for the June 14 group? I'm new to using forums.
How was everyone's first day. I want to say thanks for being with me at the gym today. I was thinking about all of you as I sweated through a hot and humid gym session here in southern Illinois. Knowing that others are going through this with me really does help. How was your first cardio day Russell?

Hello,
I began my Challenge yesterday, June 14th. It's great to be a part of this support group. Together, WE can do this!
I'm almost 49, I'm 5'1" and yesterday I weighed 117 lbs. That's not too bad but according to our Tanita scale my body fat is at 33% and that's certainly not healthy.
When I was in my early 20's and in the best shape of my life I weighed 101 lbs and could bench press 100 lbs ten times with only a little help from my spotter. That was a long time ago /though. I might not get back to that level of fitness but it certainly is possible if I really push myself. My goals are to regain the lean and toned body along with the strength that I once had.
My husband, OC_Hugh, and our daughter will begin their Challenge the weekend after her 18th birthday. They'll be entering as Father & Daughter in the small group category.
I'll be posting my measurements and maybe my before photo on my profile.
Wish me luck. I believe that I can do this but I will need support.
Thank you,
Myra
I'm in!! A little late to add my response though :) I live in Cardiff in the UK. I'm 5ft 7inches tall and weigh 185lbs.
I did my lower body weight training yesterday and can barely move today, managed to get through cardio with tears in my eyes!! ouch.
How's it going Russell?
I started on the 14th also,
I'm 38, 6' 5" and 355 lbs, so obviously I have a lot of work to do.
I made it through the 1st 3 days so far and I'm feelling pretty good.

Yeah thats what I like to hear lets do this!
Well, I've done two weight training sessions and two cardio sessions so, so far so good. I can't say it's been easy (you should see some of the face I'm making while I'm lifting weights or pushing those last few minutes running at level 9 or 10 - ugh, it's not pretty) but I'm making it happen and I feel really good about that. Planning my day the night before seems to really help. I find it pretty easy to make room/time for a workout, and that was always my excuse before - not enough time. I've got to keep doing that planning the night before.
I started on the 14th too! This is my first time and I'm really excited. I have been doing pretty good so far. My stats right now are: im 5'5 and 132 lbs....im skinny fat ugghh. So my goal is to be lean and tone! Happy to be here. :)
Hope everyone is having a good week...I've stuck to diet and exercise so far. Now the best test is happy hour on Fridays and the weekend!!
Feeling good!! Still motivated.
Its only day 4 but this usually is the time (in the past) when I started a diet that I'm looking for unrealistic results, get extremely disappointed, then give up. Besides having a more realistic outlook, I'm not looking for results because I feel SO GOOD!!!
I'm not going to call BFL a diet though, its definitely going to be a lifestyle change. I maybe premature in my proclamation, but feeling so good is motivation enough to keep going. I know I'm going to have my bad days and my cravings but there are always going to be bumps in the road... just keep pushing along.
Thanks everyone. Besides feeling great, I think these forums are another part of my motivation!
I like your focus and honesty. This is my first challenge and getting in shape for competing in a fall national event at a high level is my goal. Looking forward to the new me.
