Hey Hey ! We're at week 6 people !
I'm heading out of town on a kayaking trip for five days to a group of remote islands next week and I'm looking for some suggestions on how I can keep up my weight training routine without weights. Sit ups and pushups come to mind, but I don't really know what else I can do. Have any of you worked with those resistant bands? That would be easy to pack, but I don't know if they are any good. Any other suggestions?
resistance bands are better than nothing. But only a little. I know the book says you can get the full BFL workout without a gym, but I just can't imagine how.
Kayaking sounds like it might be good exercise for your arms though. ;-)
Maybe one of the islands have some large rocks you can use for curls ? Just make sure your grip is solid.
Resistance bands are fabulous. Here are a few ideas for you:
Place a towel over a branch for protection to the band, then you can use band for biceps, triceps, chest, back, inner/outer legs by just getting further away from the tree.

Had ANOTHER food failure last night.
I was at the mall, and needed my 4th meal.
There was a subway. I could have gone to Subway and gotten a 6 inch turkey on 9 grain wheat. But I have an issue with that particular Subway and I refuse to give them my money. (they won't give out water to their customers regardless of what you order)
There was a salad and wrap place, where I could have gottena salad and a wrap, BUT since they wouldn't make me a fresh wrap, I refused to eat there too.
So, where did I go ?
Bar Louie, and I ordered the shrimp po' boy and fries.
Grilled shrimp ? Awesome and not a bad choice. Grilled shrimp on a hoagie roll with chipotle mayo and a full order of fries ? Really bad choice.
Plus I've had 6 24 oz bottle of Coke Zero in the last 2 days too.
And... This morning when I got up, I just didn't have the drive to go to the gym. So, I had the first 3 meals of the day before doing the cardio.
HOWEVER... It was my best cardio day so far. I added another .08 miles to my previous record, and really felt strong the whole time.
Eating today has been pretty good. I've hit the portions properly and feel like I'm back on track.
I will not let a speed bump stop me from acheiving my goals.
I think I might have pulled my left hamstring today.
Really not sure how this is going to affect my progress.

Nope - I'm here...7 pounds down and fitting into my skinny jeans..whoo!! Still a long way to go though....
Me too!!!! I'm 10lbs down, 4% body fat and 2in off hips, bust and 3in off waist. Keeping my head down and working hard. The challenge has become such a part of my life that I haven't posted on here in ages, sorry.

I'm still in it with you! I have the HARDEST time with this website. 3 clicks after getting logged in I get logged out. I've sent emails asking the webmaster for help but haven't had any luck. It takes too much work to post replies so I don't. I'm hoping this will post.
I know I'm much stronger but haven't seen a lot of changes yet, last time I didn't start to melt until after week 8 so i'm holding out for big things next week. Next week! WOOHOOOO!
