Hi, I started the challenge on 31 May 2010. I am American living in Prague, CZ so getting EAS is near impossible. I am getting my hands on some soon.
Here are my questions:
I am not overweight and I eat fairly healthy. I do eat nuts and cheese. So my question is this, will I lose out by not following the diet completely? I only want to lose maybe 3 pounds at most but I just want to be lean and toned. I guess I just feel that with the great workout program that I am following religiously, won't it work? I am doing the 6 meals with EAS (using alternative for the time being) especially after working out. I am eating proteins and carbs together. I would love to hear from someone in my same situation as far as weight.
Can you have an occasional glass of wine? Or is this cheating?
Kristi, my first question is have you read the Body for Life book? If not, try to get a copy and read it. You'll find the answers to every question you asked here in the book. If you decide to follow the Body for Life plan, I know you will see awesome results.
Since you are not overweight, I am guessing that you want to use BFL to tone and get stronger. Awesome! While you should save the wine for your free day, at your weight an occasional glass is not going to harm your efforts much.
Mike and James, thank you for your posts. So I followed your advice Mike and re-read the nutrition section. I hadn't read it in awhile (I did BFL in 2003 but became pregnant during they cycle. The results were fantastic even after 4 weeks). I re-read it and I was FOOLING myself! I definitely need to follow the nutrition advice. It is almost how I eat but not quite. I also hadn't taken my before and after pics. My thought was that I just wanted to tone up and I didn't really need to go crazy with the nutrition part, although I am following the exercise to a T. I also didn't think I needed to do the photos either. I guess I was half on board! So I took the pictures and was SHOCKED to see what I look like in a bikini. While not overweight, I can see fat. I danced for 22 years and I am not happy with what the pictures show! Ugh. They are my inspiration. So because of your good advice I am on full board now. My husband is too! So thank you! I am also not going to start the 12 week count over. I am sick of making excuses! So I didn't eat perfectly last week but I will eat nutritionally this week. I will fine tune my BFL nutrition and exercise. There will always be some reason to not exercise or eat right: business travel, parties, conferences, BBQs with friends. Well no more. I am going to take a band with me on business trips so I can workout without weights if I need to. I can do 20 minutes of aerobics anywhere. So there you have it! I am on board and I thank you for your encouragement. I am even considering sending in my packet because I bet there are tons of people like me. I call it the "skinny fat person syndrome". I am thin and look good in clothes but underneath is years of laziness! BFL in Prague! Who knew?
