Thanks for the mentions - Donald, Orrin, Travis and the beautiful Aussie debs!
AMAZING pic Donald!! I'm still getting to know you - but WOW. It's also REALLY impressive that you worked through an 8 (?) week plateau and the hard work is now taking you to the next level!!
I'm in week 8 and waiting for the miracle! Pickle I KNOW what you mean abut that "150" number. I finally got it to 148.3 after 6 weeks - only lost 5 lb in 6 weeks - but the body is changing!!
I'm doing a PURE challenge for 10 weeks this time as we're off on a 2 week hol for my weeks 10 and 11. I'll work out every day and I'll eat as clean as I can.
I had planned this before i started this challenge. Interestingly - I had intended two weeks of AR - but I now feel i want to do more than that!! I've got to the stage where you get that little solid ball of bfl inside and you don't really want to stop the challenge!
Work has been particularly corrosive this last week - so having the hol to look forward to is good.
I will do cardio today.
About to do my :--( and - came up with a new montra. IF YOU WANT A ROCKIN BODY THEN YOU GOTTA ROCK YOUR BODY. It just came to my crazy brain.
*EDIT: the frowny face above is what you get when you hit the ALT button instead of the cap button and type HIIT on a Blackberry. I didn't know it till I got to my computer this morning. LOL.
KEEP PUSHIN' ON!
Morning Crew! Just got in another 20 HIIT and I will admit that I sure didn't want to do it at all when I first got up but after readying all the CRAZY success from yesterday how could I NOT do it!!1
Pickle - I TOTALLY get you on the emotional eating stuff...When I am sad, frustrated or tired I want to eat crap....Food was always used as a comforting soother for me when I was younger and it is sooooo hard to change that thought process. I just try think 'how am I going to feel afterwards and is that food really worth it' That sometimes gets me through but not always.
Donald - well holy hell man....that pic pretty much says it all. You do make it look super easy...I remember back in my gym days lifting 20-30lbs on deadweights and thinking I was lifting 'heavy'...pfft...you put that weight to shame. I LOVE seeing you post a ka-zillion times in a day....It makes me smile to see such a great person get some great results. I am proud of you Buddy....Keep it up!!!!
Orrin - I like that Donald is able to tell you to keep taking it easy...It's soo hard to NOT keep pushing yourself, but with your knee man, I would listed to him. You can do many other things to keep in the game, but just don't overdue it. Getting *** from down-under scares the crap out of me, so I tend to listen to their advice!!!!
Optigirl - I love that you are trying new things each and every day. I find that once I do things over and over for a long time I get really, really bored. Switching things up always has given me great results so I would keep doing it. It is pretty sad when you google something as simple as 'hanging upside down' and get those nasty results...what has our society come to?
Anyway...this is the last day of work for this chicken...I LOVE having every 3rd Friday off. Gives me a chance to get things done around the house when Kolby is at work. This house needs a serious cleaning from tip to bottom so that is what I will do tomorrow. We are still in the truck-shopping business now that he sold his so may do a bit of running around this weekend to look at a few...Another challenge put in front of me when it comes to eating on the go, but I am going to win this challenge.
Ok....Time for a shower and then heading to work. Happy Thursday Everyone!!!
Oh...for got to mention Darcy - WHOOP WHOOP on your last workout in this challenge...Way To Go!!!!!! I have NO idea what week I am on but am just going to keep plugging away at it until I realize what week I am on.....ENJOY!!!!!!!
GOOD MORNING ALL!
LEGSY! God it gets bloody cold there quick doesn't it! We'll have to come in summer if we make it all the way to Canada!
PICKLE! Awe what a beautiful pic, emotions will do us in if we let them - go for that 10 in the kitchen (that's a goody isn't it)......
DONALD! Wow - you are awesome mate! How inspiring for us all! and so happy the stupid RNG is behaving for you!
OPTIGIRL! haha, don't think I could hang in the hoops like that - haha! and your sore because of the TRX, it's a killer! You'll find all sorts of new muscles!
DARCY! Holy crap - get some guns girl! ahaha!
HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE OUT THERE - HAVE A RIPPER DAY!
Thursday over for me and the muscle issues continue.... I went to to my workout this am and was just about recovered from the glute and quad, was going great guns, then 10min in I bent forward to grab something and really pulled my back out.... I could barely stand up and raise my arms, jees man, I was gutted, sat and cried for a few minutes like a big old sook, then I got down on the floor and did very gentle pilates moves until i could stand again..... walked round and round the room, then gently stretched again..... felt a little better so I though of what could do without using my back.... chest press, I could do because my back was well supported, so I did 5 sets of those, then pilates and stretches, workout done, but shattered mentally... Worked my whole week to get right for TRX on Sat am and now this.... I discussed it with Donald today through email and I'm pretty sure I'm going to skip this weeks TRX class and let it heal properly, I just don't think it's worth the risk. It would be a miracle if it recovers in 36 hours I think.... BUMMER!
Time for bed almost, goodnight all.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!
MORNING JHA! TRAVIS! AND MISS PIA!
Have a wonderful day all.!
Wow, miss one day and it takes two to catch up with all you chatty people. Great energy in here loving it.
Oh Donald, since you have everyone wondering about the paint incident, I will get u back for this one. So I have been working on trying to get this one room in my house painted so was in there painting and so super close to being done. One corner left to do and couldn't really get the ladder where I wanted it so I thought I would just move it and go back in the corner with the paint and brush, while moving the ladder with the rolling pan and container of paint on top of the ladder (Yes, I know not a smart move here), you guessed it I tripped and the paint came spashing down on me. I was covered in paint and I scream and in runs my husband and his daughter and they are just standing there looking at me. And I am like, ummmm you think you can get me a towel or something? It was pretty darn funny, I had paint everywhere. Put room is done now on a good note - lol
As you all probably know have been struggling last couple of weeks but this week I am finally back on fire and loving it. Pushing super hard during workouts, eating clean, drinking lots of water. When we do what we know we are suppose to do and it feels so good why do we fall back and do something we know is bad for us. I might just be a slow learner. But feeling great again. Thinking about doing some one on one training. One of the ladies that teaches my strength training class is going to start some one on one training going next week to talk to her. She told me to have my goals layed out so she knows what I am after. Well to be better of course, to keep setting goals and meeting them. lol So I will have to let you all know how it goes.
Talk to you all soon!!!!
Donald - thanks for letting me share my paint story
"If you mind can conceive, you can achieve it
Dang I missed Debs! Sorry to hear about the back. Sometimes life deals us some setbacks, but it's how you deal with them that matters. Do the things you can do like eat clean stretch and heal up.
So when I got to the gym, on the squat rack on the lowest bars (where I think the bar is there to help with shrugs?) there was the bar with 2 50# weights on it. I walked past it. Turned my music on....walked past it again.
Went back to it.
Tried to make it BUDGE.
Nope. Nothing. Just a wee spin, and even that was hard. :)
Donald (and probably many of the Crew) are FREAKS!
Debsy - when I started incorporating new ideas (CF box jumps for example) I was lovingly warned to NOT do that particular excercise more than once in a week. I thought, ya whatEVer (cause it was MO telling me, and I'm just stubborn like that)...well she was right. Again.
So maybe doing the TRX is a WO needing to be tackled just once a week for awhile. I have done that workout - it's a killer. Your whole workout relys on stabelizer muscles. Not one of them is strong enough YET to have that repeated day in and day out until you build up. Im sorry you had a melt down. I get that....dont give up though. :) You have a mission to continue with. And hey - if you dont want to make it all the way to Canada - just pick anywhere other than the USA so Jimmyboy can land! LOL. A meet on a hot beach might be the way to go too!
Legs - Have you heard the song "Harder Better Faster Stronger" by Daft Punk?
STEPHANIE-AL - I love always setting new goals. Like a greyhound chasing the fake rabbit at a racetrack it keeps me distracted and pushing harder. I don't leave any dust because I stick to the concrete.
Orrin - This challenge is going great! I am in week 6 and already lost almost 7 pounds of fat and my goal is 9. Ellen and I have a weird "Honeymoon Period" because she is 330 miles away in her last semester of College but things are going good.
Donald - WOW! That is alot of weight. Posture is sooo important, I agree. I see so many guys in the gym acting macho doing biceps curls that just use momentum and shoulders due to improper form so they can lift heavy to boost their ego. If I can't handle a weight I back down and slow it down. Once again congrats on the weight goal you hit. Oh and I am only organised digitally otherwise I am a slob. I am slowy being domesticated though. I will be drinking again in 9 days at the Rahr & Sons Brewery after my 5K then going to a College Football game and possibly an Oktoberfest so your comment about 2 beers and a hangover worries me a little. During C1 my tolerance went down to about 5 beers before I felt it because I was only drinking on free day.
Just read pack 3-4 pages. Super busy at work today and yesterday.
This morning I ran the same route as Monday morning. It was about 12-14 degrees cooler with a nice steady wind. I am like the auto alert on my watch telling me when I am going slower than 10min/mi because it keeps me going above my minimum speed. I reach my halway point turnaround in 19:51 (11 seconds slower than Monday) and I picked up the pace to 9min/mi. Right before mile 3 I saw something running along the sidewalk. It was too furry to be a possum and it did not move like a rabbit. I figured it might be a raccoon or a skunk so I made a slight detour. I pushed hard the last mile in 8:22 for a total of 4 miles in 37:04 which is 54 seconds faster than Monday. I forgot to stop my watch so it says 37:24 on connect.garmin.com/.../114483821.
“"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out..." - Robert J. Collier”
Also, Ellen "discovered" BodRock.TV on her own so it is something she is embracing. I am excited
Why do I like this sentence? " I will be drinking again in 9 days" ha ha..... (my kind of crazy perhaps) Funny though - Jim brought wine home last night - he enjoys a glass to "wind down" after being on the road all day - and I didn't even have a smidge of wanting any. I am focused, determined and seeing results already and it's only been one week and one day in my new routine. I like that.
Yes Bryan - I've heard that song. :)
Oh and about Bodyrock. I get those updates on FB every day. It's close to porn. What is WITH that lady!! Her workouts are insane though. I'll give her that much.
Congrats to Ellen!!!
another little story I was going to share this morning. Tuesday my sister and i ran around 1/2 mile track 3 times while my neice had soccer practice. After practice my neice and I stayed around to play on the playground, it was so much fun. Then my neice is like I want to run around the track. She had just had soccer practice and we had probably been playing in the playground an 1/2 an hour so I am like ok I can take an easy stroll around the 1/2 mile track again, right. Well would you know that little bugger smoked me. She is only 6, now something about that just isn't right now is it? I was just going at a nice easy pace and kept thinks she is going to stop soon and be tired, she kept turning around looking to see where I was. She got to where we started and kept running and I was thinking surely she isn't going to run this again. Nope she stopped, thank goodness she was trying to kill her aunt. When I finally caught up to her she was like, man you are slow. Thanks Torie, love you to. Oh by the way Torie I already ran around this three times!! lol Silly girl. But it was a good time. She has long legs and she is fast seriously. But thought that was a cute story, she wants me to time her next time, how cute. Not sure I want to time her she might but me to shame - lol Love that she loves being active so many kids these days just want to sit in front of the tv.
