Me too Champster. I also NEED to buy new shoes.
Who is Bryan kidding asking a bunch of women if he should go shopping! LOL.
*high fives as I run through*
I have new running shoes. I would have paid more for them. I love them.
Hope everyone is well - no time this week. Kids are recovering from nasty snot nosed grossness that they inflicted up on me, next! Ha!
Later, CC!!

Hi Crew. I hope everyone is great.
I've returned and think it's now time to start getting serious about round 3. Stay tuned for details. :)
Hi Guys! Crazy busy at work today.
Michelle - So sorry about your sister-in-law.
Bryan - I'm sure there are running stores near you where you can get your feet analyzed to get the perfect shoes. They check your arch. And they have you run on a TM while they videotape it to see if you roll your feet, etc. The place I went then came out with about 6-7 different brands/models of shoes for me to try out (they let me run outside with them to try them out). I spent a lot less on the shoes I got there than the ones I bought at Sports Authority. I love them. I am never aware of my feet when I'm running, not even during the Half Marathon.
Everyone else...... love you!

Howdy Folks,
Anyone miss me?
What a week. I have had the flu, but not a head cold. more like a body slam.
been hot the cold then hot then cold. Cold like lying in bed track pants, shirt socks hot water bottle duvet, blanket and extra duvet and shivering from cold, then an hour later everything off and sweating like i'm in a sauna. the other night i actually changed shirts because i had soaked the one i was wearing. sleeping with a sweat towel on my pillow and one next to the bed.
and i pick the week to go MIA when everyone decides to get all chatty!!!!
still feeling crappy, sitting here with sweat running down my face BUT i have to go to a meeting and i was feeling better 30 min ago.
not many shoutouts today but i have read all the posts, Darcy real sorry to hear about that officer killed on duty, that was really sad news, Laurie hope your sister in aw recovers, thats a pretty big shock, michelle hope your sister in law is ok.
guys i really want to say howdy to everyone individually but my head is just mush.
if you posted i read it, thanks it kept me kinda sane in a crap week.
Jess hope you starting around the 16th may, thats C3 start for me and i'd LOVE to do a challenge with you. just throwing that out there.
got to go. keep well folks, hopefully back up to speed soon. feeling better today by far in comparison and i'm sick of being sick.
oh yeah mo, i watched all your video's yesterday, LOVED THEM. so proud of you/your business/the website etc. exciting times.
champster stick it in your mouth or take it off your butt, man i was feeling really crap when i read that and i just cracked up. thanks
cheers folks
I got some great running shoes a few months ago and LOVE them! I was having alot of trouble with shin splints and also problems where the hamstring attaches (under your butt...if you think of doing the splits with one leg in front, that is where). I went to Dicks Sporting goods and the running specialist watched me walk...he fit me into some Mizuno shoes. I had never heard of them but I love them, and the hamstring problem is *almost* a non issue! Definitely worth the investment!
I'm seeing a lot of talk about other work out systems...are you all still on a challenge, or is this week 13+ stuff? My brother is doing 'Insanity' and by the videos it surely looks insane!
I am doing well today...following my eating plan...just had a meal and am planning on doing my HIIT at 7:00!
Have a great night everybody!
Leggs
BOOM! And the week is gone. It's been one of my best in a long time. :)
Donald - so glad you popped in. Of course we missed you silly!
Jess - another challenge! HA HA - they're addicting. Keep us posted. If you were to count what I'm doing now, I guess this would be 7 for me. I've always liked the number 7 for some reason ..... maybe this is the one where my head and body actually align. (MO dont laugh) I just know the last 3 weeks will be spent camping, celebrating my birthday, our anniversary and relaxing in a tube, floating down the Kettle River ....not ideal end of challenge training sessions. I am in this for Life now, yet my head still likes to keep track of the weeks for some reason. Im sure down the road, I will be more relaxed about it, or just plain ol forget. I just need some structure and guidelines still.
Where did that come from! I better get moving ...
Im off to do UBWO! WOOP!
btw - the stars on my calendar are looking pretty fine! Nice to have some bling on there! ANNEB - did you start yours yet??
Yeah its FRIDAY,
My husband is a truck driver and usually gone thru the week so I get pretty excited for Fridays because I get to see him!!!
Legs - Ab Ripper was intense. My goal is to be able to do the whole thing. Right now I have this roll that keeps getting in my way - lol
By the way love the comment to Bryan - That was silly to ask a bunch of women if he should shop - of course we are going to say yes everytime - lol I tend to be like you and need the structure of BFL. I intend to do this for life as well and stay active but I feel better knowing what I am going to do each day that way I know it is going to get done.
Champster - I could remember who said "Stick it in your mouth or take it off your butt" until Donald mentioned it but love that statement. It is going up on my bulletin board in my workout room. Plan on making one this weekend with pictures and inspirational phrases, help keep me motivated and that is a good one might even have to go on the fridge!!!
Donald - Silly boy, of course we missed you, now that was a silly question. Man, that flu sounds aweful, take care and rest up you have another challenge to start on the 16th, looks like I will be starting the 16th as well. I got my friend Jill starting then as well so I thought I would do her first one with her. So looks like there will be several of us doing another one together, that will be awesome. Now Jill if you are out there lurking come introduce yourself. i got her all signed up on here already.
Leggsmomof3 - I am on active rest right now and just trying a few other things is why I have mentioned some other things. I was considering doing P90X but as I mentioned earlier have a friend staring BFL so going to do that with her and then possible switch it up to P90X. I have went thru several challenges and I would recommend anyone to complete at least 2 before moving on to something else. But I love my BFL.
Ok - need to hop off of here. Everyone make it a great day. Get those workouts in and eat clean. Oh ad don't forget to drink that much needed water!!!
"If you mind can conceive, you can achieve it
Taylor - that "roll" will disappear - keep putting yourself FIRST and tearing up each workout when you begin another challenge. Keep the food clean. You got this ....
AnneB - WTH - camping again! Jealous here. Proud of you for getting in your workouts. What exactly are you doing? Skipping, climbing trees? Let me know so I can do some when we are camping. :)
Great UBWO today - on the skull crushers for tris, my right shoulder/delt area was literally twitching so much it looked and felt like someone had it in a shaker. Total spazzing out. LOL. Call me weird, but I love it when I can get my body to freak like that. With pull-ups, my legs were shaking. :)
SO NOW that I realized I was eating TOO much protein (thanks Champster) if I carry on with my workouts and not eat so much protein, I should see the scale go down. I was feeding the muscles I had and definately gaining strength and mass, but not leaning out. I am so ON THAT now. HA ha.
Best get my butt to the shower.
Keep chatting in the house. Donald needs something to read today. Dontcha! And MO needs to smile at her phone. (hi MO!)
Legs - Yep, another. If we don't work BFL then BFL won't work. I've gained weight back, which isn't a flaw with the program, but with my not following it. I'm doing another and this time better planning for after, for life.
Laurie - I'm thinking of you today and your sister in law.
Donald - My date will likely be either the 23rd or 30th. I have a lot going on between now and the end of the month. I would love to do that though, do one together. My last one really needed to be solo, but this one would be cool to do along side someone.
Good afternoon! Happy Friday the 13th! I always think it's a lucky day. My son was born on Friday the 13th in January 2006.
Thanks for the prayers. My sis in law is still in the hospital. Still hurting. Scared to go home because of the pain. I wish I could give her a hug. She is the one who has lost 55+ lbs. She's scared to death she's going to gain it back with this injury. I'm reminding her proper fuel for the body is the most important.
Wow! Who'd a thought abs really ARE made in the kitchen??? I have had clean eating for the last 2 weeks and have seen some great improvements. YAY! No nibbles, no cheats. Hmmm...they really do add up. Dang!
Donald--hope you're feeling better!
Legs--the accident actually happened in town with posted limits of 45mhp. I, too, live in an area where it's 2 lanes, and you might not see someone for MILES! I prefer it over the bumper to bumper stuff!
Michelle
Hi, Everyone -
Michelle - I am so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. That's really scary. My thoughts go out to your family and the family of the other driver.
So, I did my first UBWO all by myself this afternoon. All the others have been with my trainer. I feel pretty good. It took 50 mins, which I think is pretty good for the first time. i pushed myself, and I'm certain I'm going to be in the good kind of pain tomorrow. I also did 45 mins on the elliptical. I watch stuff on Hulu on my iPhone when I'm on the machines, and, even when I'm just doing maintenance cardio, I try to hit a 10 durning the commercials, so it's sort of interval training. Tomorrow is HIIT and pilates, and then my first Free Day! (Although, as I've mentioned, it won't really be 'free,' but I'll get to eat a brat, so there's that.)
Happy Friday to all!
a
Morning Crew!
Glorious day here. Woke up to so much LIVE CHATTER on my phone from some great BFL friends all over the world. What a blessing to have them in my life. They are the last strong women I speak with each day, and the first encouraging voices I see on my phone. I feel so blessed. Who knew BFL would lead to such amazing and strong friendships.
Some great things are happening - activities and events that can only give credit to the mental strength learned and applied through the basic principles of Body for LIFE. The gain of confidence and self worth, to go out there and reach goals on our own, not waiting for anyone to "come with me". Self power. Self love.
I hope Tisha and MO get on here today and share thier excitement and progress today.
It is just over a year now that we switched from the Guestbook to this forum. At that time, BFLMike started warning us that "changes are coming". Looking back - wow - we have all come SO far, and also much closer to one another. Its so nice to have this house to keep in touch. From this place, friendships have expanded 100 fold onto FB where we get to see the REAL us, the pictures, the hilarious status updates (Scott, Trudy and Guns - you still crack me up), the struggles behind the scenes. Life. You all keep me focused and strong.
Some of the criticism to the crew has been "too much off topic" and it just makes me smile. I know there are so many readers of this thread - lurkers .... they stay safe and away .... in a comfort zone.... heck, you dont even have to log into the site to get to the most current page and read us. Body for LIFE isnt just about working out and eating clean. It is about how you live your life around being the best you can be. How do you add in kids, work, debt, fears, weddings, late nights, phobias, temptations, death, drugs and addictions, insecurities, promises, divorce - the list is so long. We have learned over time that we can, with the help and understanding of one another, get past 12 weeks and beyond. It CAN be for life as we share with others our difficulties and get advice and learn we are never alone.
Changing this site to what it is today really has been a blessing. It has allowed people like us to remain together and communicate in a way that works for us. Then there are other people that need to keep on topic and that works for them. It is about finding what works, and sticking to it - for LIFE.
Did I just say all that? LOL. Im stalling ... my body is a total ache, but I have a 5K to run. Will pop in later.
