5/28/12 - I start the challenge!

  • Good Call Victoria.  I'll do a search for it.  I started today and had a great and challenging Upper body work out.  I will say that the one thing I forgot about doing this is how you feel like you are eating ALL THE TIME.  Not that I haven't had heavy snacking days, but when it's purposeful eating it feels like it takes up more of your day.  I'm heading out later to get some soy protein powder and hopefully that will make it easier!    Also, as a snack idea, I'm going to make a cold salad with brown rice, lentils and tofu with veggies.  You top it with a red wine vinegrette, so that covers your fat also but it's still healthy.  You can eat it cold so it's convenient.   • Hi All I started BFL 5/28/12 also and RMSblonde suggested I join all of you!  I am doing the challenge with a friend and we are both first timers.  Not new to weight loss just BFL.  I am 56, 5'4" and 166 pounds not sure of the body fat maybe someone can tell me how to calculate that.   I had been 155 for the last year and a half and recently gained 11 pounds.  I had been abstinent from processed sugar for a year and 10 months and fell (more like tumbled head first) off the wagon.  I am happy to say I have been off sugar again since 5/23  and day 2 of BFL.  I have the Eating for Life cookbook and I LOVE It.   Every recipe I have tried has been great.  My husband is enjoying the recipes also.  I am looking forward to the support from everyone I know there is strengh in numbers.  I did cardio both yesterday and today   I go to a gym reguarly and work with a trainer Thursday and Friday mornings.  With out the right food and cardio I was no longer getting results I am super excited about seeing weight loss and toning.  I have also signed back up for a Krav Maga class at my gym this is a full body cardio/martial arts workout.   I am hoping my friend will join the tread with us and I will look up the group on FB!

  • Ok, Hi Everybody again!

    I've never created a group before in Facebook so bare with me.  I originally had the setting set to Secret instead of just Private.  One of them is where no one can see the group unless you are a member....so now I've changed it to the other where people can see the group but only members can see the posts.  (I was hoping you could still join the group that way)

    Now, I'm thinking I may have to complete make it open until everyone has joined.  If anything, email me and give me your name so that I can friend you and have you join that way.  Sound good?

    My goal is to have as many encouragers and accountability buddies as possible!  I just didn't feel comfortable posting pics to millions of random viewers. Know what I mean? lol

  • Hey everyone, how are you doing with your first week?  Me, I feel stronger and mercy the workout was good.  For once I really challenged myself and went to that point where I could not push or pull one more time.  What a difference!!! I am getting compliments already on how my body seems to be changing.  I still see the skinny me, but for now I will take what other people see.  How often should we measure and weigh? Working on getting on facebook so Victoria I emailed you and look forward to getting on the group.

  • Ok...So On to Tuesday of Week 2!  I'm not sure if others are still checking on here but I thought I would get in touch just in case.  So far, for me, everything is going well.  I worked out at home for the first week but finally joined a gym yesterday.  My meal plans are working so far as well.  I didn't get to pig out on Sunday, the free day, due to working and not getting the chance. I was kind of bummed because I really looking forward to curing some of my cravings.  ;) Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone in this group and if interested in joining the Facebook group, please email me victoria_valerio@yahoo.com and I'll get you hooked up!

  • I'm just checking in to say hello! We are in the middle of Week 2.  It's been a great beginning so far! There was someone else that joined on facebook saying that the group showed up in the search but you have to leave off the date to find it.  Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and also having a great start in the challenge!
