I found a example kit if you want to know what to expect bodyforlife.com/.../2010-BFL-Entry-Kit.pdf
Im starting on the 2nd as well! I attempted to do bfl in sept..however it just got to be too much with a 6traditional yr old. A five year old..n twin newborns..plus working full time. I also believed I started back too on. I had a foot injury during the fourth week. Anyway I was sleep deprived n gave up..so now im done with excuses..my babies r sleeping well n I have to get this weight off! I want back in my jeans and skirts by summer! This forum is a wonderful tool to keep you motivated! Im super excited to start again! I bought my protein shakes and Betegen! Love love love betegen!
Hi y'all!! I'm starting Jan 3rd. This will be my 2nd time. I did this 12 weeks before I turned 40 and I looked awesome afterward. I'm 50 now. Turned 50 back in October, Got married last May and with his work schedule, we wind up eating dinner too close to bed time....soooooooo I have belly fat and a double chin to get rid of before summer. I weigh 134 and I'm 5'5" but dont get excited about the numbers because none of my weight is muscle and at my age, that means its the mushroom around your middle and what squishes up out of your bra strap! LOL
Hopefully we'll help each other to stay motivated. I at least know this works. One really big hint though!! While you are cutting fat, do NOT forget to take in fiber. The last time I did this diet, I'm not big on a lot of fiber like foods and should have taken a fiber supplement because I became stopped up and I do mean stopped up.....so, be sure you pay attention to your fiber intake.
Thanks that was helpful and in the meantime I got my training schedule planned. When I tried to buy products everything I checked on was out of stock. Hmmmm
Heck yes, I'm starting (again) on Jan 1! Very excited about it.
I've done a couple of challenges and it feels sooooo good. My last was this summer, and I got about 6 weeks in when I hurt both knees and had to completely stop. Mostly I just sat around with bags of frozen veg on my knees for months.
Knees are doing great, but the waist of my jeans told me we need to have a little chat.... I've gained back almost everything I've lost and have to take my measurements tomorrow morning.
I'm 45, 5'3, something like 150 lbs now - eek. It's ALL around my middle, which is of course not healthy. My little arms and legs look like they could snap under the weight, lol.
For everyone that is starting - get a tape measure and take your measurements tomorrow, write it down! If you've never done this before, this is REALLY important. A lot of people don't see too much budge on the scale and get discouraged, without noticing that their clothes are beginning to fit better. When you retake your measurements 4 weeks later you will be shocked at what you've lost.
It's the weight lifting that does it. I walked around for a whole day yanking up my pants this summer before I realized I simply didn't fit them any more and I was about to moon the neighbors.
Take those measurements, and plan your meals!
I agree about the measurements. I don't even weigh myself because I'm scared to. But I've been measuring around the fattest part of my waist periodically, and have lost around 3" in one month! And I'm like you, my body seems to retain the highest volume of fat around my waist. It's ugly and annoying! It's like, why can't it be distributed more evenly? Whatever, it is what it is. We just gotta work & diet hard to get rid of it. Eventually it's gotta go! Good luck to ya. And take care of your knees!
I am so excited to start now! I'm a bit nervous as I remember how challenging it was last time, more so with the workouts than the food, but I am still raring to go!
Meals all planned, protein stocked up, measurements, weight and body recorded! Roll on 2012, I am ready for you!
So I've read the book and have been planning for a week, I've started today, and know the nervous feeling you're talking about angel cake. Little background, I'm a 25 y/o M looking to drop about 40lbs, If I don't do it all within the 12 weeks (i'm being a realist) I at least want to have a good dent knocked out.
I also have a wedding in May and want to be feeling much better about myself. Couple that with beginning a new career in June, I can't afford not to do well. Here goes nothing, and I look forward to checking this forum periodically for everyones updates and questions/answers. And by the way, Happy New Year everyone! :)
I feel you! I'm what I call TOFI...Thin outside, Fat inside :( Even though I've had four children I've always maintained a weight of 125-130 lbs, I'm 5'7. So, not fat looking, but I know could be much healthier inside and achieve a lower body fat ratio. Good luck to you on your quest to look amazing in your bikini...YOU CAN DO IT!
took my before photo today OMG I was mortified! Good greef! Even though my Digital Body Fat machine said I was 22.4% I look about 30%. I am going to just go by measurements and visual, still keep track of fat percentage but not depend on it's accuracy 100%. It's ON!
So into week to and Oh my! I lost 5 lbs 1.8% Body fat and 3.8 inches off my body! I was shocked I can already see parts of my body tightening up! I did loose a inch in my bust (boooo) but that is just what happens to some women lol. I have done 30 mins of cardio for the past 8 days 4 of those days each week are followed by weight training. I am excited now and surely going to complete this challenge.
