Hi linsforlife and bahamasbound,
Yes I love the red wine ( a glass or two a nite). Sooo many calories! Thank god that has stopped! I did have a cheat day yesterday and indulged in a few cookies and cosmo's. I really don't feel that good today, so next cheat day I will probably cut out the alcohol! Or reduce it to one. : ) I have a son who is the best ever! He is my motivation. I want to be healty for him. I have been bringing him to the gym with me since he was born. Soo ladies, looks like we have alot in common. We all workout with little results. A proven fact that eating crappy food makes our workouts null and void. Good luck this week!
Dave from Texas...enjoy the beer!
Hello all, after reviewing the threads on alcohol on the BFL board as well as some other sources I decided to forgo the beer today. It seems that alcohol will really retard your fat burning process so I am going to hold off at least for another week.
Dianew, I'm thankful I've stopped drinking wine every night, too! I can't believe how much better I feel. I had some wine on my cheat day this weekend, I did ok with it. :) It's a nice thing to look forward to during the week (cheat day in general, not just the alcohol), but I certainly am not craving or anything during the week. I'm so glad. Honestly I'm surprised how easily things went. I'm sure there will be challenges ahead. I think I had a harder time giving up my coffee creamer than anything else! LOL
Had a better upper body workout yesterday than last week, thanks to more weights and a bench that we got off craigslist. Great HIIT workout this morning. Hope everyone else is doing well!
It's all about progress, not perfection.
Two pounds lost! I know you're not supposed to get on a scale too frequently, but I couldn't resist at the gym today and was so excited!
Sounds like everyone's cheat days went well. I had a couple beers and they tasted so good at the time, but kind of gave me a heachache later on :( I usually drink wine, but was at a sushi restaurant with not much of a wine list and some sort of special house Japanese beer.....maybe that's why I had the heachache :)
I've found it a lot easier to turn down food. It's amazing all the food choices you have to make during the day. Just on a trip to the grocery store today I got offered cookies, chicken fingers, crackers, cheese, etc. I guess b/c I have kids with me. I typically just eat it all, without thinking, even if it's not that good. This plan just makes me think a lot more about what I put in my body.....and my kids'.......
Hope everyone's second week is going well!
BahamasBound, congrats on losing two pounds. Keep up the good work.
So far everything is going okay for me. Workouts are getting better each time which is the idea I suppose. It is nice to keep adding a bit of weight each week. 9 days in and all is well.
Ok so missed yesterdays workout was really bummed to because I set my terget time etc to do it but, in the back of my mind all day I was trying to figure out how I was going to fit it in. Anywho also did not have my 6th meal fell asleep about an hour after my fith meal. So today I have begun by trying to redeem myself. I did do my cardio this morning and with this I have been running. I have a goal to run/walk (it doesn't matter as long as I finish it) the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Half Marathon. It is in December. I am glad to read it seems we all are doing well. Good job everyone!
How did everyone do with Halloween? My kids were sick so we had to skip a party, but I just didn't let myself get tempted by all the candy.....my first Halloween ever to not eat tons of chocolate I think :)
