Anyone planning on starting Monday Sept 19?

  • My name is Michael, I'm a 34 year old male that has been significantly overweight for several years after having 5 knee surgeries.  In the past 7 years I have gone from a nice 215lbs to 315lbs.  I spent last week researching and grocery shopping and started my journey this morning.  I will be undergoing my last knee surgery at the end of the year with a full knee replacement and plan on being healthier and weigh much less than I currently do.  I'm very excited to be able to finally get my lifestyle back with the knee replacement and not be told I am to young for a replacement as I have been in the past, thanks to new 30 year knee replacements.  I welcome those joining me and any advice moving along.

  • I started another Challenge today and came to this website looking for support.  Can I join the group?  ccmcneirney@yahoo.com

The best I've EVER felt in my life was during BFL, although I have to confess I have never made it to Week 12.  That has to change.   I am 37, stay-home mom to three, and I weigh almost as much as I did when I gave birth to #3, which was a all-time high for me and I couldn't wait to have the baby I felt so large.  Now I am that weight and I'm not giving birth anytime soon, so something's got to change!

  • I'm a veteran bfler and have had great success over the years and am also starting a new challenge today.  I just logged on to the forum and found this post so this is great! I want to set some new goals and attain a greater level of fitness. Let's do this!!!!

  • After my last post I read through all the previous posts and realized that this group is mainly younger females so I probably don't really fit in so well but I'm still starting today and wish you all the best!!

  • Hi there! I live in Brazil, so I'm a bit lonely here in my challenge and I sure could use some support here!!! I also started a Challenge today. I had done it a couple years ago. I was single, had no kids and it was easier, LOL. Got pretty good results...Now I quite smocking, and have 2 kids, so I'm a bit over what I believe its my good weight and I'm completely out of shape.

Could I please join the yahoo group? my e-mail is:  lole902@yahoo.com.br

    Good luck to us all!!!

  • Hi Carol! Bem vinda ao grupo...I know what it's to feel lonely. I'm from Portugal and it's difficult to find support here. But this group it's just amazing, you'll love it. All the support you need it's right here. So, you'll see that you'll get the results again ;)

    Good Luck

    Beijo

  • Thanks Monica! I'm still waiting to be added to Yahoo group. Did everyone posted their photos yet? I have to get mine taken.

Yesterday was a bit hard, I had a very bad headache by the end of the day, but kept it going!!! My arms are sour from yesterday and I had a great aerobics training today so I guess that's it. I have been saying to myself, "one day at a time..."

    Beijo!

  • Carol,

I sent you an invite to the group last night.  Check and make sure it didn't come through.  If not, health.groups.yahoo.com/.../body4lifers9_19 try that site and see what happens and see if you can access the group from it.  I'm also going to send you another invite to the email lole902@yahoo.com.br.  Let me know if you still can't get in.

Glad to hear you stuck with it yesterday despite the bad headache.  Was the headache from the food?  Several people posted they didn't feel well yesterday.  Interesting.  Not everyone has posted their pics..only a handful of us have.

  • I have had a horrid year, and decided that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired! I am a 52 year old married mom of two adult sons, and for decades I have put myself on the back burner to care for others. Enough!  I want to drop 60 pounds, get my cholestrol and blood glucose to healthy levels, and fe good about myself. Wish me luck...here we go.

  • Hi Everyone!  I posted the other day, although so did a ton of other people.  My e-mail is ccmcneirney@yahoo.com.  I was really hoping to get involved with this wonderful group.  I have only ever made it to around Week 8, with great results, but short-lived.  I hope having a group to share with will be the missing link for me!

Let me know how to join!  I'm headed to the gym for my HIIT!  :)

  • Hi All,

This is an active forum! I am a 26 year old female (it seems that this group is a similar demographic for the most part), and I live in southern CA. I started on Thursday 9/22 and just signed on BFL for the first time today. I'm going to look up your yahoo group and see if I can join in. I may join the 9/26 group too; if I head over that way instead it's nothing personal.

I feel like at 5'0" I should not be the 154 weight that I am. I am between jobs and have been for several months, though actively looking for a job in international relations. I haven't been using this down time wisely and in fact have gained weight and lost muscle. I am taking care of a friend in a wheelchair as of 9/18, but have realized that I don't have the arm strength to lift her, and see that she is suffering because of it.

I need an activity to occupy some of my free time, and also want to be in shape and help my friend. These are my motivating factors.

I look forward to talking with you all.

    Jamie
