Cuervo: Im happy to hear that you are taking a step back and taking it easy with the shoulder.. you are so right .. might feel good but its not worth sidelining yourself.. good judgment!

Morning Warriors!
Something is up because I did cardio again LOL! I'm getting it done and feeling great today.
Island - WTG on getting to 210! I might be there next week myself. Also, great job on the deadlifts. I'm pretty sure you have a few lbs on me a max lift there. I actually topped out at 295 on my last set yesterday too. The way my workouts progress is that I ramp them up for three weeks and then back off for one and then springboard up again. I have made steady strength gains for 6 months now doing it that way. How tall are you? I am 6ft and have pretty long arms. I think my structure is what makes conventional best for me? I always have to watch my start point of the lift to make sure I have a balance of leg and back activation. If I'm not careful I can do too much back and tweak it pretty fast.
Cuervo - You need to hide Mrs. Law's candy bowl LOL. I had forgotten all about that thing. For me, when I am own antibiotics or the like I ALWAYS hold water for a week to 10 days. I remember the last time I was on them it was worse than normal because of the strength/dosage I had to take (shots + pills together). But it comes right off a couple of days after I finish them. Strange how that works?
Miss Understood - Welcome!
Runner - I don't know what is going on, but thankfully God knows all about it. I am praying with you on what you are dealing with now. You are a warrior, but remember..."Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world!"
BD, Claude, WPBill - You guys better rock it today! I have to go back to the eye doctor this morning. I got my new glasses, but they need some major adjustments.
A most wonderful morning to you all!
Hit the pool this morning swam a quarter of a mile, I am really struggling with swimming. I see all the other swimmers around me who go nonstop and I have to take a break after every lap I am so out of breath. I used to be able to go for hours, what have I done to myself. I am just going to have to keep pushing myself hard and I'll get there. Hope you all have a great cardio day to day!
Miss understood- Welcome! This is a great group, they definitely keep you motivated!
Good Morning Warrirors!
Quick post for me today. Will be heading out to train with my trainer in awhile, then taking girls shopping, then Lane to the doctor. Food planned & clean for the day!
afleece: You're killin those workouts, and your food looks good. Keep up the great work!!
Parson: That cardio gets addictive! You are doing so great. Hope they get your glasses all straightened out.
Island: Congrats on hitting 210!!! That is great. Boy those co-workers of yours better watch out!!
Missunderstood: Welcome to our group of Warriors! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you along the way. You are doing great so far. Keep it up!
Gotta run.................
"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"
Greetings Warriors and Welcome to our newest member...Missunderstood. I was due to start with the free weights again today but I have a soreness and stiffness in the right shoulder area so I will probably just do the cardio today (bike) and some swimming but stay away from any sort of weight /arm/shoulder related exercises until tommorrow and then play it by ear. (more of a sprain of some sort but still could work today although a little slower than normal in the reaching and lifting activities) Islanddude: Got to talk with some folks from the Hawaii today and we talked about your great photos from there that make us all want to move over there. He told me that stitch is still running around on the islands over there too. (LOL). Parsons: Hope you can get your specs fixed up and BD is right about the cardio, It can get addictive once you start with the HIT system especially. Afleece: Way to Go , best wishes on your continued determination and success. Cuervo: Thanks for your input and inquiry. I will be coming off of AR this week, but it is currently delayed at least a day to see how the shoulder performs tommorrow after some ICE today. Everyone else, Best wishes for a super day today and keep moving forward in all ways!
UBWO is done! Chest and back today. I am feeling pretty good today. I have to admit I am sneaking peeks at the scale still. So far I am down for the week, but nothing will be official until tomorrow...slow and steady...slow and steady. Rome was not built in a day!
WPBill - How is the shoulder today?
Afleece - I wish I had access to a pool for cardio. That would be a great way of mixing it up for sure. I would be the same way...huffing and puffing after ever lap probably. Keep it up. Each time it gets a little better and you get a little faster...build up a bit more endurance.
Claude - I see you logging on MFP. How are you doing? How is Linda?
BD - I'm sure you nailed it yesterday.
Cuervo - I see you posted another weight loss on MFP! Keep it up. Don't worry about me losing steam...There is plenty of coal to fuel this machine!
Island - Are you missing vacation this week?!
Alright Warriors, are you ready to do it today! Make it happen. Remember - you will get out of this exactly what you put into it. Work hard, but also work smart!
Good Morn Warriors,
Runner,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family hopefully things will get back to your normal soon.
Miss Understood,
Welcome. Stay with us and you will succeed in this journey. Let us know how things are going.
Island_dude,
I would have never guessed Larry in a million yrs. I like your native name it suits you much better. Congats on Killing the certification course. What was wrong with your swing. Here's the mistake I had to correct swinging too high above shoulders, Knees to soft bending them too much. Thats all corrected now thanks to my instructers keeping a watchfull eye on me. Sounds like you had a tough wo. HAhahah! you asked for it. Just like I do every KB Class. My instructer started getting hate mail when we did the 100 series. lol I told her not to let up and she said she hadn't planned on it. Master what you need to and hopefully you can get out there to torture some unsuspecting students. At best our class is about 20 strong. That's a good size to teach.
Great pic's of the family and the beach I will get jealous this winter. Keep pushing as always glad you recovered. Good job on the lifts too.
Parson,
Sounds like you are getting hooked on the cardio. Hahaha! Enjoy the ride. Yes we are enjoying the local fruits and veggies, peaches are in season now. To get to my table from the orchard is a 5 hr. drive about 500 miles away so not so bad. Our growing season is so short. Tomatoes and cucumbers are in the backyard so even closer. Also started last week sprouting bought a bag made of hemp and flax soaked the mung beans over night, dumped into the bag soaked the bag every 12 hrs. and let it drain on the drain board for the dishes once it stopped put it in a bowl on the counter. I'm enjoying fresh sprouts already also have a couple of trays on the go. I have more trays but not sure of my success with them so only tried 2. If I master the trays I'll be sprouting like crazy. So easy and so healthy many benefits. My obstacles are my eating and getting to the gym early been watrching the Tour De France in the morning. Your are doing so good with the PB's keep up the pace your on a roll.
Afleece,
I'll be going back to swimming in Sept. I know how you feel. I know that the HIIT really helped me with stamina after missing a bunch of swims. I actually got faster and could push further. But swimming is all about pacing yourself and the breathing at least for me anyhow. Keep pushing you will get there. Thanks for the encouragement. I have no more excuses for not getting to the gym. Like BD said if you can do it with your crazy schedule we all can.
Cuervo,
You seem to be moving forward in a smart way when it comes to knowing your limitations. Glad to see you have your ego in check that's usually the hardest part with weight lifting. Work smarter not harder. At least that seems to be the new way to train. No sense in setting yourself up for failure you have that right. Injuries have a way of doing that. As long as you do something you are moving forward.
WPBill,
Glad to see you too knbow when to back off in a smart way. Good luck with the wo's. Keep us posted as always.
BD,
I know you are killing it and it seems like the Female Warriors are answering your call to join. Way to go WooooHooooo! The more the merrier. That is so great to hear the young ones care so much about the animals. She is my WARRIOR of the day. You are certainly doing something right. I mean that in a good sort of way. Keep checking my food and kick me when needed still trying to get through The Eat Clean Diet book slow and steady.
Accountability,
WO's so far so good for the week. Tuesday had my Weight, BF% & Measurements done will post the results later when my tech help gets out of bed. I had part of one done in 2010 when I joined the gym so there is some improvement. Just the kick I was looking for I am now focused alot better than I have been in a while. Linda is about the same still waiting for the MRI who knows how long that will take in this neck of the woods. It seems if your a regular joe it takes months at the local hospitals, but if your an athelete it only takes days funny how that works. Hmmm! Chris is learning the hard way that he has to fuel is body better than what he has been doing. He had to stop his wo on Monday due to feeling light headed and thought he was going to throwup. He went to bed at about 3-4 am. woke up at 1:30 pm ate at 2 wo was at 4pm. and not enough fuel in the tank and when he came to tell me while I was doing my wo he was pretty white. So yesterday he still got up late but asked me what he should eat. He had 2 hrs before so he had a chicken sandwich and lots of water. I also gave him some money so after his wo he could buy a protien shake to tide him over until dinner. And we are now eating more veggies. WooHoo!
These measurements and such was a good reality check for me. BF% was on a high end scale so nmot sure how accurate that is?
Push Harder & Run Faster every day is a new challenge.
Claude
Alright Warriors, I report to you today with my tail between my legs. My day started off so well, bu then the eating part went to pot. Delaney woke up yesterday and right before breakfast, she felt dizzy and her vision got blurred, her chest and stomach then hurt, and she broke out in a sweat, and felt clammy. I called the doctor and they wanted to see her. So, what I thought would take about 2 hours ended up taking nearly 6. They ran a bunch of tests in their office, and then sent us to the hospital for an EKG. I had a protein bar with me, but was still waaaaay too hungry when I got home. I ate nearly 1/2 a rotisserie chicken myself, plus about 6 boneless chicken wings (with sauce on them), and a spoonful of peanut butter. I then made a protein shake at around 9:00. I didn't eat any sugar, so that is good!!! I still feel stuffed this morning. I am disappointed in myself, but it's a new day and I'm back on track. I got my HIIT in this morning, and will be eating clean all day!!! To put it all in perspective....good news is that all preliminary tests came back normal. We will have to wait for a pediatric radiologist to read the EKG, and may take a few days. Just say a little prayer that it was some weird "something" and that all tests continue to come back normal. The thought of anything being wrong with my baby breaks my heart!!!
Parson: ****Sigh****you are an addict!! I'm convinced....ha. I am not getting anywhere near a scale until Saturday. I really wanted to see 112 this week, but know it won't happen now. Oh well, I will perservere...that's what Warriors do! Love the work smart part!!! So many people don't do that.
WPBill: How's the shoulder? Pace yourself and take it easy. I know you are anxious to get back to it, but ease into it. I am sure Cuervo will be on here to give you a lecture (ha).
Cuervo: WTG on the loss; steady progress is great. You are killin this challenge!
Next week will be week four for me. I will do measurements on August 1st, as well as BF, with my handheld omron.
Everyone - check in and let us know how you are doing!!!
Just do it!!!
Claude: We were posting at the same time. WTG on getting those measurements and body fat done!! Now, you have a true comparison, and that will definately give you some motivation going forward. I'll try to remember to look at your diary when you post it, and get on you if you are slacking! I sure hope you get those results back on Linda soon (that was my mom's name, btw). I hear you about athletes and health care. Don't get me started on health care. You need to get Chris on MFP; he can friend me and I can stay on him about his eating. Good job on incorporating more veggies. All those little changes make a big difference.
Good Morning Warriors!!! I hit my cardio hard this morning, proly the most intense workout yet! I am feeling stronger and stronger! The soreness I feel after my workouts has gone from " Oh my goodness I cant get out of my chair" to "I can tell I worked out yesterday".
BD- I hear you on eating right, I have 6 kids myself, from 16 years to 6 years. It is inevitable that with all of them to care for, you are bound to hit snags. Your attitude is very inspiring, and I know you will reach your goals!
Claude- I see from your post that you are from a short growing season area. I live in Northern MI! a very short season of growing, however the most beautiful summers in the world!! I have a tiny garden with peas and radishes, tomato and peppers. And a farmers market in walking distance!
Afleece- I think you have inspired me to go to the lake today and enjoy a swim!
My husband, who is not a computer guy has now reported a weight loss of 11 lbs! I am weighing myself monday to see whats what. I hope Ive lost something. My past weight loss endevors have ended after discouraging scale results. I really seem to be catching on to the mental aspect of the game this time and I pray that sees me through to the end. I WILL FINISH!
Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome!
Greetings Fellow Warriors, Thanks for your concern about my shoulder, found out my problem was going to the gym and doing cardio/machines for 7 days in a row during AR was it. Ooops too much too soon. BDMOM: I hope Delaney is ok and getting better and that all the tests are negative, might just be that stomach flu I had several months ago making the rounds again. Gear up for that school work coming up soon, both of ya. Parsons: How are the squats going and presses? I thought about your mishap with the barbell that time and Always use the spring collars when dealing with a barbell in the gym. I am planning to drop back on my squat weight and go without the smith rack, only a back up rack and try split legged squats this time as well with the new 3X15 reps , 45 seconds rest between sets program I will be starting this week. sounds very challenging, one step up. It's done 4 times a week, one area each day, legs, arms, abs, chest etc.d Afleece: Congrats on the swimming, It is a great overall workout that helps you in many ways. I use the one at the gym quite often and it helped me yesterday to rehab my shoulder. Congrats to you and your computer orientated husban on your losses and gains. Cuervo,: Any tips for me if this shoulder should act up again this week. I used ICE (hot cold elevate) thereapy and mild light weight exercises to help workout the sprain some but went real easy on it yesterday and it feels great today. Claude: Thanks for your posting, I found it very interesting and the farmers market is certainly a great place to get some of the best produce locally. a great tip for challenge members during their program. Islanddude: Really Larry? is there a Hawaiian equivalent like my name has in French and German (Guillaume and WIlhelm etc). Just teasing ya, it's a great name(remember Larry of Arabia). Hope to try out some Dole WHip next week at the Polynesian resort near the Kingdom , take the monorail from EPCOT probably and part there. I still wonder what they would think of kettlebells if I brought and used them on the floor at LA Fitness? RunnerMom: how are your doing nowadays? I hope your medical issues are improving. I know you can't wait to get back to those K runs and challenges. Thanks for the great photos of you and yours too!! Well got to go get that general workout journal now and free Cliff bar. Best wishes to everyone and anyone I missed this time (Texas Brez and gang how are y'all?) Keep Moving FOrward!
Here are the latest stats for my body age:
Good afternoon warriors,
Today has been a crazy stressful day, yesterday was too, doctors appt yesterday for Will, it went well, but now I am dealing with the residual today. He has been super cranky, not wanting to eat or take naps, ugh stupid shots. So I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, doing laundry, doing dishes, straightening, paying bills, dealing with grumpy pants, listening to a jabbering 15 month old who screams when Will screams. Omg today has been long!!! Almost wanted to through the towel in and say screw it I am not working out today, I am going to drive to the store get a big pint of my lovers Ben and Jerry and eat it and don't give and eff! But then I remembered I am a Warrior and I know the war is going to be damn hard but I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!! Did my LBWO killed it feeling the burn and I feel soo much better, I feel proud! Thank you warriors for supporting me because without knowing you guys are out there rooting for me I would have slipped big time today.
Claude: That's great stats, keep it up and you will have a body of a 21 year old :) And I hope the pool treats you well in Sept.
Bill: Sorry to hear that you are having so many obstacles, but your determination is so inspiring it keeps me going.
Miss understood: enjoy that lake. You are braver than I am :)
Parson: can't wait to see how much you lost, the scale has been calling my name but I holding off until Sunday more like Monday. Scales are wonderful terrible things.
Island: I hear you on the soreness thing, and great job on the weight loss you look amazing in your pics!
hey warriors!!!
WPBill - Be very careful with that shoulder. One wrong move could set you back months. I have found how to work around mine very carefully until I can have the surgery. I have an issue with my biceps tendon. From what I gather talking to the doctor, there is a small ligament called the transverse humeral ligament that holds your biceps tendon in a groove where it connects to your shoulder. I popped that ligament and my biceps tendon is jumping in and out of the groove which is essentially shredding it or fraying it like a rope would fray from friction. My doctor said it would not heal on its own and I could use it until I couldnt stand the pain, or the tendon popped. I have found that only a couple of exercises really hurt bad and I avoid them. I start every single workout with a warmup for my shoulders. I do straight arm dumbell pullovers. It has helped me with my range of motion and lessened the pain during other exercises. I lightened up the weight to about 50-60% of what I was doing. If I feel pain, I stop, write it down and go lighter next time. I cannot do any incline presses without pain. otherwise I am slowly building up tolerance to things. I would suggest you see a doctor if it doesnt get better in a few days. Your shoulder is such a complex set of muscles and tendons it could be a number of things that cause your issues. Be very careful.
BD- No worries on your bad foods. Warriors do not tuck their tails, we stand proud and move on. You probably needed a little extra so make the best of it and move on.
Claude - Glad you got your results and are moving in the right direction. I need to go get a body composition done to see where I actually am. My scale has alot of cool features but I am not sure how accurate it is.
Miss Understood - Welcome
Parson - You are in my crosshairs, better stay quick and nimble because if you slow down a tiny bit, BOOM. You have had it. HAHA. Great job kicking it in gear since vacation.
Runnermom - You are in our prayers and we miss you. Stay strong.
As for me, I lost a wee bit of weight in the last week so things are ok. I am on day 17 and havent missed a workout. I am finding it hard to stop sometimes when I hit the gym. I am doing some LISS cardio everyday for 20 minutes. Foods have been 95% on par. We had our monthly birthday luncheon at work so I did have a 2" square piece of poundcake with strawberries yesterday. I fully intend to have a free day Saturday. My family is coming up to swim and cookout. I will have 3or4 "amber carbs" and eat some out of the norm stuff, but this is for life and I have said it before, if I have 20 good meals or days and one bad one, the odds are in my favor for success. I was having 20 bad meals and 1 good one. We see where that got me.
Later gang. Anyone I missed, keep on kicking tail!!
