BFL Warriors

  • WARRIORS! So sorry I have been MIA for almost a week! It was a rough week last week with the holiday but I got through it and am happy to be almost back to normal. We finally hired a new guy so as soon as he's trained I should be pretty much back to normal YAY! I still haven't missed any of my W'O's although Friday was a doozie.. I normally look forward to FRIDAYS mostly because It's shoulder day and I am trying to get these babies to blow up lol, but more than that the gym usually opens at 430 which gives me 45-50 mins to get a good workout opposed to the normal 30-35 in the am. I get up 4 am sharp gobble down my supps.. gulp my preworkout.. and head to the gym thinking about my shoulder routine. I get to the parking lot 429 am I wait.............................................. 440 am still waiting..........................................445 am preworkout is kicking in and still waiting.............................. 450 am STILL WAITING and getting antsy, 5am ....................................... STILL WAITING and about to fly off of the walls.. sadly I was there till 510 and no one showed up by then there was a gang at the door waiting lol.. and so was I all hopped up on my preworkout and no workout to be able to do I had to be at work by 530 so I frustratedly left for work and man I was like the energizer bunny all morning lol.. I did manage to leave at about 11 am and get a half hour workout at the gym so all was not lost :) I have to say I really feel that I am making some good progress For the first time I can actually see where my muscles are separated like where my chest ends and my deltoids begin I am seeing the split down the side of my arm that seperates my bicep from my tricep even looks as if my man pooch has shrunk a bit too! I took some pictures before i started my 8 week deal but my SD card on my phone pooped and I lost everything including all my pics of my babies.. :*( I still have the ones when i finished my last challenge and it was a week apart so I still have something I can compare to.  Anyway enough rambling.. I wanted to share a couple of pics I took while I was having some me time at the beach yesterday.. It was such a nice and beautiful evening..

There's a saying we have here.. "lucky you live hawaii" and I truly felt that yesterday..

PB: I know it's been a week but I am really sorry about what you had to deal with regarding you neighbor. I cant even beging to imagine what you went through during the service. Im glad you were able to push on through a true sign of a warrior.

Brick: thanks for checking in on us and glad to see you as well doing what you need to do to make it happen. Keep on working on getting back to your old self Warriors all the way!

WPbill: how's the challenge coming along MAKIN SOME GAAAIINNSS for sure!

Claude: Just reading your workout was exhausting!! Man that sounded like a total hardcore class.. way to go man! Your running is going good .. well in my opinion I just started again as well I was having some heel problems but due to you and FIT along with Mrs. speedy gonzales "RUNNERMOM" gave it a go this past weekend covered 3 miles in 33mins felt good .. felt real good especially since it's been a couple of months since I last tried :)

RUNNERMOM! :) wow such a cute story about the turtle trying to cross the road lol.. Im sure your boy must have been absolutely thrilled to have a new pet! How do you like "the body fat solution" so far? I really loved it I took a couple of his quotes in that book and keep in on a notepad on my phone to read when I need some motivation.

BD: way to go on the jeans :) I was wondering about that tummy wrap too.. Hey if it works it works right!

Cuervo: Thanks for checking in with us sounds like your plate is pretty full but you get it done non the less..

OK time for bed some deep squats are just around the corner :) Till next post warriors!! aloha

  • Hi Warriors!

Happy Hump Day!!! We are halfway to the weekend...woo hoo!

Island: Wow, what beautiful pictures!!! You really do live in paradise. What a great saying...you are very lucky and blessed to live in such a beautiful place!

BDMom: The jeans sound super cute! I love buying new clothes, especially when they are a smaller size! What a great reward!!! Thanks for the email about the belt. As Island said, if it works, it works! I am willing to give it a try!

Claude: I think you can officially call yourself a runner! Keep up the good work!

I taught spinning this morning. Super class! I sweat a TON b/c it is HOT and HUMID here today! I just love the way my legs feel after spinning....so strong!

I am taking my certification class next weekend (June 9 and 10) to get certified in RPM, which is a type of indoor cycling certification. I got an email yesterday saying to be prepared to work hard both days as the class goes from 9 AM to 6 PM and will be a ton of cycling and learning music and cueing. It even said to pack your own food for the day b/c there will be limited breaks....I can handle that! I am excited about the class. It will be a lot to prepare for and learn, but all to add to my fitness toolbox! I have to watch a DVD they sent me, learn the 45 minute routine, and then present a portion of the class to get "graded" on in front of their trainers. I have been listening to the music tracks to get some of the timing right, but I need to watch and perform the DVD routine each day before then. I am not too nervous since I have been teaching freestyle spinning for over 3 years now, and also b/c I can do the routine at home since I have my bike on a trainer which makes it stationary. Plus, I am a freak about being prepared, so hopefully it will all go well!!!!

Nutrition has been spot on this week!!!! I love, love, love eating clean!!!!

    Have a great day Warriors!

  • Hey Warriors: Have been super busy this passed week or so and have hardly had a chance to sit at a  computer. Training and nutrition is going well. My two daughters and I are getting excited for our 5k on June 9. Monica.....the one I've written about is taking this running thing way too far....lol. This passed Sunday she calls me and says she needs a ride home. She said she is under the bridge ( the Windsor/Detroit border crossing bridge). "What are you doing way over there?" I said.  (on the other side of the city). She says " I ran here". I said "you what!!". She said she started out for a little half hour run and felt so good she just kept running and running and running. She covered 10.5 miles in 2 hrs and 15 min. I told her she was crazy!! She was so proud of herself. She had no water....no snack but was smiling from ear to ear when I picked her up. This whole fitness thing is just crazy isn't it???

(and yes I did have some cold water and a protein bar for her in the car)

  • Good afternoon Warriors!!!

I got to the gym early and got a LBWO in, followed by a spinning class.  I feel good!!!  Tomorrow, I will do my HIIT early and hope to get to the gym to do an UPWO later in the day.  No gym for me Friday, since my truck is at shop.  My food has been clean today, overall.  I seem to always sneak a little treat in there, and need to tighten the reigns a bit more. I saw a woman at the gym today who had a fabulous body; I am sure she competes.  It motivated me to dig deeper and try harder and eat cleaner.  On my way out in a bit.  I have to take the girls to Target and another store they want to go to, and then I will take them by to get some frozen yogurt.  I am heading to my dad's house later this afternoon to go bowling with him and my sister.  I haven't bowled without bumpers in years..ha.  S/B interesting, but fun!

fit4life:  Sounds like Monica has caught the running bug..good for her!!  However, I hope you lectured her about being out there with no water.  Good luck to you all on your run.  I will be out of town when you are running, but will check in via my phone periodically.  I can't wait to hear about it.

runnermom:  Wow, sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead of you. Too bad it couldn't have waited until you were done working for the summer.  Good luck with that.  Make sure you take some extra carbs to help you through all that cycling.  You will do Awesome...try not to worry about it.  I hope to be checking into some cycling shoes when we get back from vacation.  My sister told me that if I find a pair I try on and like to price them on Amazon, since they tend to be cheaper on there.  I could then buy the clips at the store and have them install them.  Will think about that.

Island:  Wow.  Thanks for the pics.  They are absolutely stunnnig.  I will be on the next flight out!!!  I think I will download one for my screensaver for my phone.

Island:  So sorry to hear about your experience at the gym. I didn't even think to call ahead with it being the holiday, but luckily my gym opened regular time.  Awesome on seeing the definition that you are seeing. That is exciting.  I loved when I was finally able to see my delts pop (well, for a girl anyhow...).  Is there any way to get those pics restored?  That is horrible.

Well gang.  I gotta go feed the kiddos and get out of here.

    Have a great day!!

"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"

  • Island:  Just re-read your post; I guess it was Friday that your gym didn't open on time. Bummer...sorry!!!

"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"

  • Greetings Warriors, Just a quick post before I head to the gym for the start of Week 8 with my first LBWO.   Islanddude: Thanks for the pictures of paradise, wow!  and for the update.  Sorry the gym let you down that day. I had to adjust on Monday for Memorial day because mine closed early that day (don't blame them for that one).  I may try to get a photo of two for Week 8 this week if I can figure out how to compress them for entry to the site. I am making some great muscle gains while losing weight around the waist, almost ready to go down a costume size at work again and the swimsuit is loose that I have been using as well.   BDMOM: Hope all is going well with you this week with all that you have to accomplish with the average day.   Good luck on the bowling and I hope the truck is out of the shop soon too!  Parson: Hope your are feeling a little better after that tough ordeal with the neighbor, it's always tough to lose a close friend like that one in a small parish. I am sure she will inspire you to greatness in your future endeavors from a higher point . Fit4life: really sounds like the running bug has struck your girl, that is some serious dedication to the sport there. (she should be careful about the lack of water though).  Runnermom: congrats on teaching a spinning class. I see them all the time at LA Fitness and I know that is a tough class to conduct. Best wishes to you.  (I am still happy with the stationary bike right now with the HIT principal applied during my cardio days).   Well got to get going traffic down here has been hectic this week and we have been busy with the Memorial day crowd lately as well at the parks. Keep MOving Forward to everyone and anyone I missed this time.

  • Morning Warriors!

UBWO is done!  215x3 on my last heavy set for bench press today.  That is a new all time PR for me!  I would have been screaming, but the family was still a sleep at 5:45 when it happened LOL!  I'm pumped and ready for the day!

WPBill - Awesome progress my friend.  Shrinking waist + muscles growing = the right direction!  Onward and upward!

Fit - AWESOME story about your daughter and the run!  That goes perfectly with what I always say - to get what you have never had you gotta do what you have never done.  Good for her on literally going somewhere she has never been!

BDMom - How did you do at bowling?  We took our kids on Monday...they love it!  I have a friend who just bowled is 18th perfect game - 300!  A perfect game for me is breaking 100...but it sure is fun!

Runner - I know you will do great at your certification class.  Show them who the real warrior is!

Have a great day Warriors!  It's gonna be a hot one here...

  • Hi Warriors!

WP: What costume do you wear at work?? I am very curious!

Parson: You are setting new PRs left and right with your lifting! Way to go!

BDMom: I hope you had fun bowling with your dad! Also, I'm sure you look just as good as that other woman in your gym! I'm sure others compare themselves to you as well and wish they could be as fit as you!

Fit: Wow, your daughter might as well train for a half marathon! She would only need to go a few more miles!!! You are such a good dad bringing her water and a protein bar!!!! I hope the protein bar had some carbs too after such a long run!

Today was LBWO day for me. I went to the gym and ran 3 miles on the TM, and then had a killer LBWO!!!! I am going to stay home tomorrow and practice my spinning routine that I have to learn for my training class, then I will do an UBWO for back and biceps.

Nutrition is packed and clean today. Still on track with clean eating this week. I have been hungrier this week...I think b/c I have been doing more cardio than usual. Not sure why....sometimes I get on the TM and just can't stop! I have still been getting my strength workouts in too, so I guess it's okay.

    Have a great day everyone!

  • Where is everyone at????

Dog sitter is on her way so I can show her the ropes, and Britt's voice teacher will be here in thirty minutes, but I wanted to say hi to everyone.  My eating has not been great today.  Weekends are the toughest for me food wise, and the summer is like one big weekend.  I have to try to find a way to keep it under control!!!  I did get my HIIT in this morning and then got a short UBWO in at the gym.  Tomorrow, I will do a HIIT again since I will be stuck at home all day long!!!  It will be good for me, so I can get laundry done and start packing.

runnermom:  you are sweet.  I hope that I can be an inspiration to many other women; that has always been what has motivated me.  Instead of looking at amazing women, and "hating" them, I admire how hard they work and aspire to be like that.  Cardio always makes me want to eat more!!  Good luck with that spinning cert this weekend.  You'll do great!!

Parson:  Awesome on your PR; I'll scream for you................YAY!!!!  Good job.  Well, let's just say this is the first time I have bowled without bumpers in a loooong time.  My first game was 53, second in the 60s and third in the 70's. Maybe if we would have played 5 more, I would have broken 100.  I was actually pretty pathetic!!!  BUT, I had a great time, and that's what counts, right?

WP:  It sounds as if you are making great progress!!! WTG!  I am so proud of you. You have really kicked it up a notch this challenge.  Can't wait to hear/see final #'s or pictures at the end of your 12-weeks.

Dog sitter just got here...gotta run!

    Will check in later.

"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"

  • Greetings Warriors,   Yesterdays cardio went well and I was able to get to level 18 on my HIT Cardio on the last set. Plus I was also able to resist the hot wings (served by the Wings gals...oh lah lah) and pizza put in front on a table at the gym for all to see and enjoy. (nope sorry not my free day and I don't go to the gym for that stuff or that reason). SO a small victory was won there at the gym yesterday.   Runnermom:  The costume I wear at work is a 1940's style high end retail sales outfit complete with tie and suspenders.  The pants are adjustable by little buckles on a track on the side and I have almost reached the bottom setting of 39 or so (they are size 41-39 adjustable) next size down is 36-38 (one of my goals this time ) so I am almost there.   BDMOM and Parson:  Thanks for the encouragement. I will have to talk to the missus about doing a photo on here electronic camera and then putting it on disc this week to try to  load on a week 8 update to profile.  IslandDude:   I can relate to the term man pouch, mine is rapidly disappearing as I Keep Moving Forward.  At least your gym doesn't stick forbidden food in front of you with super models to serve it while you trying to do your ab work.  Cuervo: Thanks for the morale boost too!   I am sure you are doing your best to move forward with your goals.  Fit4LIfe: remember the WDW marathon if your daughter really gets into the running bug.  The princess marathon is another one we have during the year as well.    Well it's UBWO day and I need to get some additional rest first, so got ta go for now.  Best wishes to everyone and anyone I missed this time too!"

  • Happy Friday Warriors!

LBWO is done!  I got to bed really late last night, and I had to drag my butt out of bed and into the garage this AM...but it is done.  285x4 on squats....followed that up with 5 supersets of good mornings/squats with 175lbs.  I hope to be limping tomorrow!

WPBill - Your gym stories crack me up sometimes!  The only super model that ever comes  to my gym is my wife!  But she can come anytime ;-)...And we only serve water!

BDMom - way to progress on the bowling!  If I don't watch it my kids will beat me since they use the bumpers.  I can find the gutter with no problems!

Alright crew - what are your summer goals fitness wise?  I plan to continue my bulk/maintenance through June and then cut during July and August.  My goal is lose 10lbs or so.  My 34's have started to get a little tight, and losing just a little will hopefully set me up nicely for my fall/winter bulk I want to do.  That's the plan at least...

Have a great day/weekend Warriors!  We have friends visiting us today and tomorrow, so we are looking forward to a fun weekend!

  • Hi Warriors! TGIF!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday! My kids were both excited this morning b/c my younger son had water day and my older son had field day at school. I think I will go surprise them after lunch and have some fun with them!

We have a busy weekend. Mickey has a swim meet tomorrow morning, then Cody has a soccer game and soccer party around lunch time, and then Mickey has a soccer game late in the afternoon. This is the last weekend for soccer games...tournaments next week, but don't think our teams will get too far in the tournaments! Anyway, it will be a very busy weekend!

Parson: My goal for this summer is to maintain my current stats (weight, BF, lean muscle). I just don't want to gain weight or lose any muscle that I have built. I also want to feel comfortable in a bathing suit in front of others! I want to maintain my clean diet as much as possible. I realize that vacations will be difficult as far as nutrition goes, but I am going to try to keep it as clean as possible!

WP: So, why do you wear that costume? Are you part of an act at WDW? I still can't believe all of the unhealthy food they offer at your gym! They did offer pizza at my gym's grand opening a few weeks ago, but otherwise there are no "freebies" or models!

BDMom: My spinning certification is actually next weekend, June 9 and 10. I am just a freak about being prepared, so I am starting to prepare this week! There is a lot of choreography to memorize, and I'm not as young as I was when I got my first certification years ago! But, I am feeling good about it and I am thankful that I have the resources I need to be successful! Are you using a familiar pet sitter? I always worry about my babies (my dogs) when I leave them! I always think that no one can take care of them like I can. Luckily I have found a good pet sitter here so it is somewhat of a relief.

I worked out at home this morning so I could work on my certification materials. I did a spinning/RPM class on DVD (it is what I will have to perform at the training next weekend) and it was a great workout! I was sweating bullets by the end! Then, I did my UBWO focusing on back and biceps. My hubby ran on the TM while I did UBWO so it was nice to have some company!

Tomorrow I am planning to do the spinning DVD again and possibly a short run outdoors. Not sure how much I will fit in though b/c my son has to be at his swim meet at 8:30 AM.

Have a great weekend Warriors! Keep it clean!

  • Hi Warriors,

Happy Friday / Free Day for me any how.

    WPBill,

Always great gym stories never a dull moment at your gym.  Here's  my gym story a couple of weeks ago I noticed one of the admin. girls curled her hair and it looked really good on her. So about a week later I was talking to her and told her so she asked when I would be in the gym next which wasn't too hard the next day I told her. Then she said she would do up her hair if I was going to be in. I said ok see you tomorrow. So the next day I was really late getting there got there about 7ish. I brought some cookies that my daughter made for me cause I figured if she was going to go hto all that trouble for me she deserved a treat along with the cookies I  brought her and another girl there whose mother is celiac some of my glutten free energy bars. Any way I didn't see her when I went in but on my way out there she was all done up. So I stepped in her office and told her how nice she looked and gave her  the treats. We talked for a bit and she was one of the first girls who was taking applications before the gym even opened. I told her I didn't think she was going to do that for me and she said that she promised so she had to. That was nice I thought and she thanked me for the treats and I went home. A little different sort of story. No Linda isn't jealous and there is nothing going on between us if anybody is wondering she knows Linda.

    Parson,

Wow you just keep getting better at breaking records good for you. My summer goal is to be an efficient runner through Chi running and enjoy the summer.

    BDMom,

Don't know how well I'm at bowling but I'm sure I'd fit in your league no problem. The countdown is on at your place have fun I know you will.

    Fit,

Awsome story about Monica what a trooper and all by herself no coaxing she is hooked won;t be long before she passes you .lol Might want to invest in a bottle belt for her. Your doing great too. Have a great run.

    Runnermom,

Really me a runner maybe don't feel like one yet though. You are just a fireball Pack right and enjoy the course remember pace your self it's going to be a long ride. I know you will pass and you will be having so much fun the time will fly by.

    Island,

Love the pic's the RCMP didn't filter them out today. Your wo's make me feel your pain. lol Keep pushing buddy. It's too bad about the gym. You must of been bouncing off the walls at work. Guess you won't make that mistake again. It's always great hearing about your adventures on the island.

Linda update she is sporting a new look she had to accessorise by wearing a black knee brace now she messed up her MLC in her knee. Pretty banged up so she is under strict orders by me not to do anything around the house except sit there and look pretty. lol The kid wanted to wrap her up in bubble wrap and put a helmit on her. So quite!

Sorry to those I have missed.

    Have a great weekend everybody.

    Claude

  • Good afternoon!

It seems quiet around here lately!

I got up early and got my truck to the dealer and then back home and on the TM for my HIIT.  Eating has been good so far today.  Tomorrow I workout with my trainer at noon; we had to reschedule on Wed.  We will do LB.  I will then workout with him again on Monday afternoon, and will probably just do a full body workout since that will be my last workout for a week.  Today, I have been cleaning up the house, doing laundry, ironing, packing what I can, etc....

Claude:  Enjoy your free day; don't go too overboard.  Sorry to hear about Linda.  Tell her that I hope she is feeling better soon.  Will her knee require surgery.  You make sure to take care of things so she doesn't have to.

runnermom:  You are a workout-aholic!!!  No wonder you are hungry all the time; your body never rests.  Sounds like you will have that choreography down in no time.  When I get back from vacation, I am going to start spinning on Mondays and Saturdays.  I think twice a week will shake up things a bit for me.  There is a college girl we have known for a few years, and she lives near us, right now.  She will be moving up to college in a few weeks.  We totally trust her.  We left our kids with her when my husband and I went to Vegas.  She is great.  She is only having to stay with our Golden Retriever.  We will board our smaller dogs.  They are too much work for anyone, and we live in an area that they have to be watched closely due to hawks, owls, rattlesnakes, scorpions...etc....bet you want to come visit now, huh?  Ha.  I hope you were able to go surprise your boys at school.  Sounds like you will be extremely busy this weekend.  Enjoy all that fun stuff with the boys!

Parson:  Way to get your tired butt out of bed and to the "chamber."  Sounds like you had a productive workout.  I hear ya....my ball seemed to be attracted to that gutter too.  Enjoy your company.  It sounds as if you have those plans all laid out; that is the first step.  I am still pondering what I am going to do when I get back from vacation.  I was thinking about starting another challenge, but that is so difficult to do with kids home for the summer.  I may continue doing what I am doing; working out hard & eating clean and then start another challenge when school starts...still figuring it out.

WPBill:  I think your gym is trying to keep everyone fat, so they will continue paying their dues to workout there, because they need to lose that extra weight..ha!  Great job on your HIIT.  Hope you killed your UBWO today!!

Girls and I are going to go make some "No Bake Energy Bites."  It's a recipe I found that I modified some...we will use oatmeal, almond meal, chocolate chips, agave, vanilla, unsweetened coconut...I think that's all.  We will mix it up and refrigerate for awhile, and then roll into balls.  Yum!!  I am only going to have two.

    Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!!!!

"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"

  • Hey Warriors: Some great posts the last couple days. Always so encouraging reading about your new accomplishments. Thanks for all your kind words about Monica and yes....she has learned her lesson about water and snacks when going for a long run. And yes....she is going to buy a running belt to carry water with her. She is now wanting to enrol in a 16 week running course that the Running Factory is putting on. I think it was PB that said she is going where she has never gone before. We did a practice 5k on the route we will be running next Saturday and we ran it in just over 32 min. so Monica knows she has to pick up her pace a little if she wants to break the 30min. mark. Apparently there will be between 800-1000 runners in this race so it should be a ton of fun. Have a great weekend everyone!!!!
