A shout out to all of my August 16th BFL mates! WOO-HOO!!!!! It's hard to believe that we will have 4 weeks under our belts in a few days, but we will! We have all read some amazing posts of inspiration, struggles and triumphs. I am so very proud of everyone, expecially those who have fallen, brushed themselves off, and started again. THAT is the mark of a true champion! I can't wait to take my measurements on Sunday and to start the second leg of my transformation. I also look forward to reading more from you all!!
Happy Friday!
Wow...only 4 posts today. Where is everyone??
"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"
Yeah! That's what I said! Quiet day in here yesterday.
So glad the craziness of the last couple of days is over. Today will be busy, but just business as usual with the new schedule.
I finally got a good night of sleep last night and I feel much better today. That fuzzy, Channel 2 feeling just plain stinks. Last night I enjoyed a few bites and sips at dinner that I wouldn't have, had it not been called my free day. Today I'm back in the saddle and ready to rock.
LBWO is planned for after work with my hubby and I'm looking forward to it. So who else is looking forward to taking 4-week pictures this weekend?
Today's menu:
1 - whey and oatmeal
2 - whey and oatmeal
3 - turkey and apple with cherry tomatoes
4 - lf cottage cheese and grapes
5 - shrimp, brown rice, stir fry vegetables
6 - frozen protein pudding
Have a great day, everyone! See you all at the office!
There's a girl out there warming up with your max.
Well, yesterday turned out to be an unplanned "free day" for me-but thank goodness for that option. It wasn't completely reckless, just not fully on track.
Today, am back on full force. The funny part is, I had a small window in the early am for my work out. I get to the gym (eyes barely open) and realize that I am wearing 2 different sock (with shorts...so...very obvious) and after working out-I see my shirt is on inside-out with a HUGE tag sticking out on my side. It wasn't pretty-but mission accomplished!
I am a bit nervous about Sunday pics/measurements-
Keep up the great work everyone!!
test. trying to log in over the past days to share but every time I click on 'reply', I receive an error message. see what happens when I click on reply now...my fourth try this morning. xo
BFLifer - seems like you were successful this last time
Good morning all!!
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who seemed to indulge in an unplanned free day yesterday. As it turns out, living in the South during football season is anything but diet-friendly.
Nevertheless, I'm back on track now and ready to go on the diet full-force again until next Saturday (next football game).
As luck would have it, the alarm clock on my phone is terribly unreliable and I didn't make it to the gym this morning, the only time on Fridays that I am able to go. I did wake up in time to do my ab workout, though. I'll try to fit my LBWO in later tonight at home.
UBWO went well yesterday, but it's about time to invest in some bigger weights. The 5 lb and 10 lbs the gym and my apartment complex has are just not doing it anymore. I'll try to get some 12 or 15 lbs this week.
Hope all of you have a great day!!
Good morning!!
@Brick-glad that you got some sleep. Not sure if I am really looking forward to the pics but I will do it and post them. I dont expect much visible but would be delighted to see it in a pictures. I think I see it in the mirror! I certainly feel it.
@grocerygirl- Too funny about the socks and the shirt tags out. You must have been like a zombie but good for you!! I am sure you will be fine on pics and measurements!
@BFLier-looks like its working!!
@Lchoward- I know what you mean about football but stick with it and make that your free day.
@SusanC- Great to hear from you too!
Ok everyone, come on...One more day and week 4 is in the bag! YEAH!
Have a wonderful day...
Good Morning:
Had a fabulous BF:
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup lf or ff cottage cheese
3 egg whites
vanilla & cinnamon
Mixed all up in my magic bullet, and poured "protein pancakes" onto a hot griddle sprayed with Pam. Topped with a little smart beat butter substitute & some truvia and more cinnamon...Yum! This made 4 average sized pancakes and it really filled me up. I will def. make these again! I guess you could use some sugar free syrup if you wanted. I try not to use any artificial or sugar alcohols.
Will get my workout in this afternoon before I p/u kids from school, and then off to the mall for a few things the girls need. I will be bringing a turkey sandwich and sugar snap peas in my cooler to have before we go to the mall, so I am not hungry when we get there.
I am so excited that we will be entering our fifth week next week. I am proud of how focused I have been. I sure hope I can keep up at this pace!!!
Susan: Let us know how those measurements go on Sunday. I am going to have my DH take some 4-week pics of me tomorrow. I want to at least have beg, 4-wk, 8-wk and final pics when I am done.
Brick: Glad you got a better night's sleep. Makes all the difference. Sounds like you have your day all planned out....go get 'em. I am not looking forward to taking pics this weekend, but will do them tomorrow to have as a reference.
grocery: way to dust off and get back on track. Don't worry about pics/measurements...we are only 4 weeks into this thing...most of us won't start seeing what we hope to see for another few weeks.
BFLBoston: We have missed you. Looks as if your post went through this time. How are you doing?
Lchoward: Yes, football season is hard. My DH tailgates on a pretty regular basis. Won't catch me out there with him until sometime after Nov. 8th. Even tho it would be a Sunday, which is my free day...it is too easy to get carried away out there.
Hope you all have a fantabulous day!!

This sounds DELICIOUS and I can't wait to try it! I love getting creative in the kitchen. On another thread, I saw (brace yourselves) a can of tuna in water, drained, mixed with a container of peach Yoplait Lite and chopped jalapenos. It was just so weird, I had to try it... and it was delicious! Sweet, hot, salty... Great on celery or carrot sticks!
those protein pancakes sound fab-u-lous!! I will make them tomorrow breakfast.
changed up the exercises this week - pecs are good sore, elbows hurt - not sure I had good form for the triceps, may go back to my original extensions with hand weights and then with bands.
lots of water to drink today. I am so excited to do measurements on Sunday. I know there have been changes, just don't know how much. I know whatever it is, it will psych me up to keep going. My arms are more shapely. The sleeveless shirts I've been wearing all summer already look better!
keep it up!!! Have a great Friday night -- stay on plan

Thought I'd check in with the Aug. 16th gang. I see there have been many learnings the last two days, or at least experiences from which we can draw certain lessons: Expect the unexpected. Be prepared. Have a Backup Plan.
It is a part of our culture to attend activities (sporting events, movies, concerts, plays, etc.) and eating things ranging from high cuisine, treats, or grilled tailgate foods? is associated with a lot of them. So attending these events is a great opportunity to show our commitment to finishing a challenge, to show we're worthy of being a Champion.
I was dragged into seeing the movie "Despicable Me" a few weeks ago. I thoroghly enjoyed the show. Watching the movie is one thing. Gorging myself from the Jumbo size tub of buttery, salty popcorn the rest of the family consumed is quite another, and was not necessary. So...I inisisted we go to the showing after our dinner, to avoid being hungry, and chewed some sugar-free gum. Sport gatherings? Hopefully the host has laid out a Veggie platter. Hit the veggies hard, drink three glasses of water, and save the pulled pork or barbequed ribs and red velvet cake for another day.
Jacium
Thanks for checking in with us, Jacium! Your tips and views are always helpful and most welcome! Nice to see you!
Wow, my LBWO tonight thoroughly kicked my behind. But in a good way! I was looking at my 12 week goals and one of them was to get to 130 lbs. on my leg press. Tonight I pressed 210 lbs! Four weeks in! I followed my ab crunches with the back extension machine which was quite a challenge, but one that I met head on. Great workout and looking forward to my HIIT tomorrow. Have a great night, all!
You're all over it, Brick!
I also did LBWO today - this morning. I pushed up 5 lbs on the quad extensions, but the dead lift I do for my last 12 reps stretched me to the limit, and I was breathless. I think it would have gone even better had I not done my cardio on the treadmill last night just 10 hours before the LBWO...
Hi, all! Looking forward to getting outside today for a nice hike with the family and incorporating something of a higher intensity so I can call it my cardio! There are plenty of hills on these particular trails, so I'll wear my HRM and use the stopwatch to time myself. 5, 9, 13, 17... I should play those numbers!
Jacium, sounds like you rocked your LBWO, too! I told my husband that I think I am going to stay where I am with my weights now for awhile. I feel as though I could do more on my leg presses, but 210 is a lot for a girl (batting eyes) and I don't want to hurt myself! I don't feel like I have to increase my weights every time I work out. Maybe every 2 or 3 weeks? Does that sound right?
I took the little one to look at Halloween costumes this morning and bought a few items. Halloween is just before the end of this challenge and I plan to wear a cute costume... not sure what yet, but I got some great ideas this morning at that store. On the way home we stopped at a local produce store where I bought some beautiful figs, sugar plums, raspberries, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, lentils, apples, garlic, ginger... all fresh and yummy.
1 - black iced coffee with a Myoplex lite RTD shake mixed in
2 - greek yogurt and fresh raspberries
3 - turkey, carrots, and a fresh local apple
4 - oatmeal and probably another apple
5 - chicken, cauliflower, sweet potato
6 - cottage cheese, sugar plums
Good afternoon already!
Jacium, I love the post on expect the unexpected and have a back up plan!! Thanks for checking up!
Brick, great job on the workout! WOW, 210 lbs is something to be really proud of. Those are some really strong legs. That translates to great quads...Enjoy the hike and sweat!
Today cardio is done and I really pushed today. Felt great. For the rest of the day, just watching football and cleaning!
Have a great day. Look forward to seeing those week 4 pictures and the changes occurring. I am not one to post pictures but I promise I will post mine.
Enjoy your day everyone.
