It's Sunday and tomorrow (June 14th) I will be starting day 1 of my first BFL challenge. I'm on my way to the store to get groceries for the week. I have to plan my meals out and schedule my workouts.
Does anyone have any suggestions for preperation? Things that helped them stay on track, motivated and dedicated? I am notorious for not finishing things I start and I don't want to set myself up for failure.
I am also looking forward to making friends within the BFL community. Another great tool to keep each other on track and motivated. Someone to high five me when I'm doing great and kick me in the butt when I don't.
Anyway, thanks in advance for all the support =)

Autumn, High 5 to you for starting tomorrow!!
The thing that helped me in my first challenge was planning and staying on the forums to keep up the motivation. Keep a journal, plan your meals and workouts the night before and try to come here everyday...If you are an early riser, some of us "meet" in the Coffee Crew thread or the Faithful GBers thread.
Again, welcome to the challenge and will be looking for you tomorrow!! =)
DebMO :0) Blessed to be a Blessing...
Thank you DebMO! I think these forums will be my main motivation...
I'm off to plan!!
Congratulations on making the decision to change!
I agree with DebMO. Keeping a journal and planning your meals is essential to staying motivated and keeping on track. It also allows you to track your progess and see just how great you are doing. I picked up the BFL Success Journal and it has been my lifeline through my first challenge. You don't have to buy the book though. You can print the workout and meal plan forms in the tools section of this site. They help me immensly. They might really help you too. Hope this helps and congrats again. Have a great workout tommorow.
Thanks Orrin!! I printed out three weeks worth of meal/workout plans to get started. I went grocery shopping and I'm feeling good. I'm in the process of making some meals to freeze so I can throw them in my bag when I leave for work.
I think one of my biggest challenges will be when I'm at work. I'm overweight yet the smallest person in my office. Everyone there is constantly eating out or bringing in goodies. Resisting the temptations and tuning out their negativity will be hard, but if I prepare I will have a head start.
Something I read in my Success Journal that has helped me when I am tempted by something I crave (like a peanut butter and jam sandwich) or when I am invited out for beers, is when you say no you are also saying yes. No to foods that will hinder your progress and YES to a new you, YES to taking another step toward looking and feeling better.
Good luck tomorrow. You'll do Great!
I love my success journal!!! Helps so much with planning, plus all of the motivational stories and Bill's words help a lot!
Autumn-You will do great! Just keep us in your head and think of us cheering you on out there on the sidelines! Go Autumn Go! High 5's and Fist Bumps!!! =)
