  • Hello all!

My name is Katie and I am working on week 6 of my Body-for_life plan. I've had success in the past with this plan, but I let it go only after a few weeks but I am further now than I have ever gotten before and I feel fabulous! Haven't lost any weight, though, but I am squeezing into some pants I haven't worn in years. I am really excited about it. Good luck to all!

    Thanks

Welcome to the BFL community forum! There are a ton of folks on here that are absolutely thrilled that you have joined us. The exhiliration felt from completing a BFL challenge is something that everyone should experience at least once. Stick around and ask questions, offer encouragement for someone else.

Katiebug ~ Yay fo fitting into those pants. Keep going and you'll have to give those big old baggy pants away!

Jokeymon75 ~ Great job on the weight training! It feels great to lift. You watch...you are gonna get addicted to lifting. Hey, watch out for those bars. Generally those should be used in emergency situations. They are super high in sugars. The Myoplex shakes are a much better option. Keep some of those bars in your car and desk for emergency situations.

Plan, plan, plan! Water, water, water! Establish your goals and review them regularly!

    Keep the faith!

  • Hi everyone!  I just found this site Saturday and decided to do a challenge.  I'll be 50 at the end of the month, and have about 30 pounds to lose.  I used to train with weights all the time, but when I went back to school about 10 years ago for my teaching certification, I somehow lost sight of my love for it.  And now, unemployed since May of '09, and sitting around having a pity party with myself, I am in terrible shape.  I've finally decided to start taking care of myself again and started eating right a few weeks ago.  Started back with exercise Sunday, and it's amazing how much better I feel after only two workouts!  Went out and bought some Myoplex Lite yesterday, and will start using it post-workout today.  THANK YOU for not loading it with sugar - I've been trying to eliminate it, but most protein powders/shakes are LOADED with it!

I'm a home exerciser, as I live 20+ miles from the nearest gym.  Over the years, I've collected quite a variety of weights and videos - now I am cleaning off the dust and entertaining the parakeets with my antics.  They talk and sing while I sweat and groan - good thing we have no neighbors, they might think something REALLY strange was happening LOL.

I'm blathering - my goal is to lose 30 pounds of fat, gain back my muscle tone, and get back into the 4/6 clothing again.  I'm really excited to be here.

  • Welcome, Tinyone! You are well on your way!!!

  • Good morning tinyone & all other newcomers!!

I, too, am an at-home exerciser. I have a bench, Powerblock adjustable dumbbells, an elliptical & various accessories. I love the privacy, convenience & ability to grunt & yell to my heart's content, LOL!

Any of you all who get up early to do your workouts, please come over to the Coffee Crew forum & post early...I know it helps me get motivated, just knowing that my buddies are looking for my posts about my workouts, eating, etc...we welcome the company in the coffee lounge!

Please continue to post & let us know how you progress! :D

  • Hi, Angela!  I'm new here too, and saw your post about videos - try Chalean  extreme by Beachbody.com or some of Cathe's videos  Caution - Cathe is VERY advanced, but she does have a couple of total-body videos out, such as Muscle Max, that you can modify.  Hope this helps!

  • Hi, I am Terry, out of Nike Town, Oregon.

    C2W2D1

Started out at 238 pnds, now at 221 - 2 weeks later.

25% body fat. Ideal weight due to lean body mass will put me somewhere around 190 pnds.

I am still 30 pnds over weight.

I am border-line high blood pressure, and was a candidate for type 1 diabetes.

I am going to beat both of these two things in the next two weeks.

Thank you, Body-for-Life! Thank you, Bill Philips! You rock!!

Also, thanks to the BFL Champs/Administrators.

Feel free to add me as a friend.

We will share an interchange of support.

We are going to make it, because - WE CAN.

"What you put in, is what you are going to get back."

You inspire me! I am 52 and have only done a few sprint tris. There is a video of a Dr. on the USAT website who is 88 and does ironmans. Did not start until he was 60.  So the dream lives!

An ironman is also my goal. Will do an Olympic in November and a few sprints this summer.  Like you, I was training twice a day, but did not lose weight, as I did not eat clean. Nor did I weight train. Started BFL Monday 4/12. Love the structure as it fits right in with training discipline. Plan on using run and bike as my aerobic days. Swim will work in around that.

Would love to hear what advice you received. I am 5'3" weigh 142 with 36% body fat. I am a little concerned with over training as you may be. My addiction has been way to many lattes. Don't know how to  function without caffiene.

Would love to keep in touch as we have similar goals. Much Success!!

  • I'm a little late to the game introducing myself on day 73, but, uh, better late than never?

I've been rocking out pretty hard in the lean and tone section and plan to do fat burn when I come back from Argentina in May.

  • Who is Mary?

  • Hey everyone - I am just re-starting my 2nd go around of BFL. I did one about 10 years ago, and found it to be the best program I was ever on. Since then, typical stuff like a career job that involves traveling, and now also working most days from my Home office - has me grasping to start any kind of real exerise program again.

Planning my restart for Sunday 4/18 - getting my BFL act together this week and already cant wait to start!

Having all this online supoprt is'nt something I had last go-around - and I am looking forward to taking this challenge on with all of you!

    Talk to you soon....
