I have been following the palm/fist method, palm for protein, fist for carb. When I need to measure a carb out I have been using 1/2 Cup. A couple of weeks ago on GB I remember that BFLMike said to figure out your measured carb portion to put a bowl full of water on a pan, put your fist in the bowl and whatever spills on to the pan is your measured portion. I did that today and it came out to be 1 whole cup, not 1/2 Cup. I then took my black beans and measured out 1 Cup. When I looked at the label that would put my carb count at 40 grams. I have heard several times on GB to keep meals around 20 carbs and 20 grams of protein. So, what should I go with,1 Cup or 20 carbs?
Aly-I would keep it at 20/20 (approx.) I think if you go with a whole cup you will be consuming too many calories.
I used the "lose it" app on my ipod touch during my whole first challenge to keep on track with calories and such, but since being on AR I haven't plugged in my meals b/c I'm so used to what a right proportioned meal is...that makes me feel good!! Just gotta stay on track! :)

I am ready to eat at the 2 hour mark.
Well, half the time I 'think' I'm hungry, I really sit and think about it - am I really hungry or am I just not stuffed? Usually when I think I'm hungry, I'm actually not either stuffed or hungry. It takes some time to listen to your body. On this plan you really should never be hungry if you're eating 6 times a day. I make sure I eat between 2 and 21/2 hours apart - I usually don't wait the 3 hours.

I'm on such a good schedule now, I don't want school to end! haha! NOT! Only 7 1/2 more weeks to go. When school was out, my schedule was erratic so I am kinda afraid of slipping...Focus, Debbie Focus...I'm okay now...lol!
Aly, if you are hungry every two hours, you definitely need to increase your portions until you can make it back to the three hour mark. I'd have to say I'm with BFLMike on this one. Either that or add an additional meal.
Yes, DebMO I am drinking close to 100 ounces of water per day.
Champster, I am typically very hungry by the 2 hour mark. I will say that my last meal (the one I added the entire cup of beans to), was over 2 hours ago, I am approaching the 3 hour mark and am just now feeling like I should eat soon. So, maybe the extra 1/2 Cup will be helpful. Thank you!
Painted Heather, yes I am definitely feeling the NEED for food by the 2 hour mark, but I totally get what you are saying, sometimes I have to double check what I am really feeling.
DebMO, one more comment on the Myoplex--when I was having issues with it--the starving feeling was coming like 45 minutes after eating...so the 2 hour hunger is bliss next to that!
DebMO, on the daily schedule and structure, being home I have found that I HAVE to write down what I eat and what time or I get totally off my plan. Food Loggers has helped with that as well. You are going to do great at home!
If HUNGER isn't the problem, FOOD isn't the answer.
Note also - on heavy strength days, you may need to choose better carbs around your workout.

Legs, define better carb for me...like a 2 year old (I miss Frances).
On strength training especially on lower body workout days my body requires more food. I get hungrier when I am working large muscle groups. So I eat every 2 hours on my LBW days. This has worked out very well for me.
