Q:  The Body-for-LIFE program suggests a portion of protein and a portion of carbohydrates at each meal. How big is a portion?

A:  Simply stated, a portion is an amount of food roughly equal to the size of your clenched fist or the palm of your hand. If you are adding a portion of meat to your meal, it should be no thicker than a deck of cards.
