Grand Champion Men Age 46+

Name: Robert Whitmore
Occupation: Director National Warehousing
State: Michigan

Before my father died he told me that he had waited too long to start living a healthier lifestyle. At 47 I faced some real issues of my own. I was overweight, had high blood pressure and struggled with a bad back (the residual effects of surgery over 20 years ago). I’ve relocated, changed jobs, and my children have all moved on the last few years. These things weighed heavily on me and I had slipped into an emotional slump. I knew that I needed to move forward and take responsibility for my condition. I decided to go through physical therapy with the ultimate goal of completing the Body-for-LIFE Challenge. Not just go through the motions, but make a total commitment. I had to prove to myself that I could do it.

At first I worried about what people would think of me. I took my before pictures with a self timer and kept things to myself. Before long my wife was helping plan my meals and studying the BFL Website. Co-workers and friends wanted to know what I was doing to get such quick results. It was a huge boost to my motivation when people would use the word “transformation” when commenting on my progress. Surrounded by this kind of support, I was gaining confidence every step of the way. Within weeks I went from slight embarrassment to feeling like I had an army of supporters. The physical changes were great, but the emotional lift was truly special. I found something within myself that I hadn’t felt in 20 years. I am definitely not the same person that started this 12-Week Challenge.

It’s one thing to plan for my retirement. It’s another thing to make sure that I can enjoy it when I get there. The nutrition, supplements and exercise are daily deposits that I am making for my future. Although there was a 12-Week deadline for taking pictures and writing an essay, I wasn’t longing for the Challenge to come to an end. I’ve extended my workout logs and progress reports indefinitely. From now on there are no start or finish lines. This is simply how I choose to LIVE!

Results: Lost 31 lbs. of scale weight while lowering his blood pressure from 140/93 to 118/67 in 12 weeks
Supplements Used: 100% Whey Protein, EAS Phosphagen, Myoplex Lite Shakes
