Harry and Charmaine Waddell from Washington —
Physical separation did not stop this couple from participating in the Challenge, together. The Waddell’s displayed ultimate teamwork in beginning the Challenge just before Harry was about to depart on a 3-month fishing excursion for work. The landlocked Charmaine trusted her husband was keeping up on his end of the bargain, while she watched over the couple’s two daughters, went to school and kept her promises. Although working out on a boat, with 30-foot seas in a 6 x 8 foot room, was difficult, Harry didn’t let his wife down. Upon his return, the couple more than met each other’s expectations. “Ironically, because we were separated, we kept pushing forward together for each other, especially through the hardest times. We didn’t know for 100% certainty what the other person was doing, but we assumed they were doing their best.”
