Ben Ableman could see time slipping through his hands. As a naval officer and medical student, he had read the book and Muscle Media for years, but couldn’t seem to get the resolve to get started because of all of his commitments. As an officer, he realized, he should set the example in all he does. He started with small goals and watched his success build upon greater results. A week in the field, with high fat rations, little sleep and no gym, got him even more energized upon his return that he reached his 12-week goals by the end of week 9. By the time he was finished, he had lost 26 pounds, gained 12 pounds of muscle and dropped nearly 14 body fat points. In the end, he states, the most inspiring part was realizing that the rewards during the journey are every bit as fulfilling as reaching the destination.
