My wife, Erin, and I started the Body-for-LIFE Program because we were looking for, a diet and a workout program that we could both do together. We are both competitive people. We enjoyed doing the photos, measurements, and weigh-ins once a month.
The program is created in a way to keep a person from slacking, and it is defiantly challenging.
Erin and I worked out at home. The only equipment we used was a treadmill, dumbbells, and a bench. We worked out together as much as possible.
We quickly learned that if you want to truly change your body, you would find the time to workout.
Co-workers started asking us questions about our diet. Because we decided to change our lives for the better and not follow the crowd on bad eating; the crowd started following us on our good eating.
Erin cooks our meals using the Eating for Life cookbook. All of the different foods and choices are delicious.
I’m a police K9 tactical officer and Erin is a business manager. We are both role models for our co-workers, along with helping the citizens in our community. We both help out with the police Jr. Explorers group. It’s a program for kid’s ages: 14-20. It helps to develop skills for teens that are interested in a law enforcement career.
A lot of the kids that live in this area are overweight because of lack of exercise and bad eating habits. The kids look up to us for positive motivation, because they cannot find this in their homes.
We have been able to inspire several kids to start working out and eating right. One of my explorers, age: 19, lost 42 lbs. during the 12-week program!
We’ve dedicated several meetings to educating the kids on what type of foods are good to eat, how to prepare healthy meals, and the different types of exercises that they can do to build better bodies.
We are proud to be walking and talking examples of the Body-for-Life Program. People walk up to us and ask; what is the secret to changing their body like we have done.
