Perspiration was dripping from my brow as I struggled on the elliptical; I was huffing, puffing and gasping to stay on board. Not only was I out-of-shape but also I had two herniated disks. I was contemplating back surgery and consumed with negativity. I glanced at my reflection in the gym mirror, my shoulders slouched, love handles inching over the top of my pants, and it was clear that my body was no longer the fit women that I used to be. My nutritional neglect was evident and I felt older than my 37 years. I desperately wanted to reclaim my life. It was apparent that I had to reconnect to my mental, physical, and spiritual health.
It was time to stand up tall and for god sake stop feeling sorry for myself. I vowed to not judge myself based on the weight on the scale, or compare myself to anyone else, but rather to embrace the weights on the dumbbells and be the best ”me” yet. I read the BFL website, the book, viewed the transformational videos and was empowered with the valuable information. I cleaned out my fridge, took my before pictures and dedicated myself to the BFL program. The meals and workout plan was very manageable and I enjoyed pushing myself through each workout. Everyday became filled with excitement as I began my inner and outer transformation.
My optimism for life began to emerge and I started to feel good about myself once again. My back pain began to diminish and I no longer needed pain medication. Once I realized that this plan was effective it inspired me to push harder!
Today I am very thankful to the BFL program because they were the lifeline that I desperately needed. I am filled with gratitude and a new sense of worth. I began the 12 weeks weighing 124 lbs. with 18.75% body-fat. Today I weigh a slim 115 lbs. and have 12% body fat. I lost an astonishing 5 in. from my waist. I dropped from a size 5 to a 0. I love flexing my defined biceps and most of all I’m filled with an exuberant amount of energy.
Looking towards the future, I began this program at an all time low in my life and am finishing as a new woman. I now can embrace life with more vigor, more enthusiasm, and am a positive role model to my family because now they truly understand the value of commitment, perseverance, and the link between good health and fitness.
